Abstract

This study is a literature review study that aims to examine and analyze various research results related to the growth rate, effectiveness, potential, and contribution of advertising tax to Regional Original Income (PAD) in various regions, with the main focus on Mataram City. Advertising tax as part of regional taxes has a strategic role in supporting regional financing, but its contribution to total PAD is still often found to be relatively low. This study was conducted by reviewing nine relevant previous studies, using a thematic analysis approach to the findings, methods, and conclusions of each study. The results of the study indicate that the effectiveness of advertising tax tends to be high in several regions, but its contribution to PAD is still relatively low. The potential for advertising tax revenue has not been fully utilized, due to weak supervision, lack of tax object data collection, and suboptimality in determining advertising rental values. By identifying common patterns and challenges that often arise, this study provides recommendations for strengthening regulations, developing technology-based collection systems, and increasing institutional capacity in order to optimize advertising tax as a source of PAD.

Abstract

Household waste management, especially organic waste, is still a serious problem that has not been resolved. So far, the people of Keru Village have not managed household waste independently and environmentally friendly, but rather disposed of it directly into the river or some of it was burned. The low participation of the Keru Village community in management is due to the low public awareness of the importance of proper waste management and the lack of community knowledge and skills related to simple and effective waste handling and management. This condition indicates the need for alternatives to reduce the volume of existing waste with environmentally friendly waste management through waste management training. The implementation of this activity consists of several stages, namely the initial preparation stage, the implementation stage consisting of delivering materials and demonstrations of composting and the evaluation stage with participatory discussions and Focus Group Discussions (FGD). The socialization activity was carried out well as indicated by the high enthusiasm of the socialization participants in asking questions and listening to the material and demonstrations of composting. The output of this activity is expected to increase the awareness, knowledge and skills of participants to process household organic waste into more useful products so that participants can start processing their household organic waste independently and can become drivers or pioneers of organic waste processing in their respective environments.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the dynamics of micro-enterprises within the tourism ecosystem during periods of tourist decline and to identify the main causes of such downturns at Cemara Beach, Lembar Selatan Village, West Lombok Regency. A qualitative approach was employed, using data collection techniques including in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation. Content analysis was utilized to identify key themes and patterns from the collected data. The findings reveal that the decline in tourism was primarily driven by poor infrastructure, inadequate promotional efforts, limited supporting facilities, and weak synergy between the government and local communities. This decline has directly impacted micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), leading to reduced revenue, downsizing of operations, and business closures. Nevertheless, several MSME actors demonstrated resilience by diversifying their products, utilizing social media for marketing, and initiating informal collaborations with fellow entrepreneurs.

Abstract

This study aims to describe and analyze the efforts of the Village Government of Kembang Kuning, Sikur District, East Lombok Regency in increasing Village Original Revenue (PADes) through the development of village tourism. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results show that the village government has optimally utilized the potential of natural and cultural tourism by involving the community, strengthening village institutions such as the Tourism Awareness Group (Pokdarwis) and Village-Owned Enterprise (BUMDes), and developing digital promotion and homestay services. A participatory approach in planning and tourism management has been key to maintaining the sustainability of the program. However, several challenges remain, such as inadequate infrastructure, the suboptimal function of BUMDes Mart, limited tourism facilities, minimal direct involvement of the village government in the field, and the absence of a formal retribution system for local business actors. Therefore, institutional strengthening, infrastructure improvement, and more professional and inclusive tourism management are needed to ensure a sustainable increase in PADes contributions from the tourism sector.

Abstract

Community empowerment is a development process in which local residents take the initiative to start social activities aimed at improving their conditions and overall quality of life. In this context, training programs are designed to enhance specific skills, knowledge, and attitudes to help individuals develop their potential based on the needs and resources of their local area. One relevant form of training to support regional development is handicraft training. This particular activity involved housewives from the POSPAUD community as the primary participants, while university students from the KKN program served as facilitators and organizers. The training adopted the Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) approach, which emphasizes identifying and utilizing local assets and strengths to promote sustainable community growth and improved social structures. The results of this initiative showed that the training on making wooden cellphone stands was effective. Participants gained practical skills and knowledge, which sparked motivation among the POSPAUD members to explore entrepreneurship in the handicraft sector. Their motivation was influenced by their available free time as housewives and the existence of market opportunities for handmade products with selling value. Several key indicators are used to assess entrepreneurial motivation, including self-confidence, goal and task orientation, risk-taking ability, leadership, creativity, innovation, and a future-oriented mindset. Therefore, this training program served as a strategic intervention to empower the local community. It successfully encouraged the development of home-based businesses while fostering greater independence and economic resilience.

The validity of the data in this study used triangulation of sources, techniques, and time. Data analysis used the Miles and Huberman interactive data analysis model which is divided into data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of this study indicate that there are 3 impacts of boarding house development, namely: 1) Boarding house development can open up many new job opportunities for the surrounding community, when boarding houses start operating, indirectly there will be more students living in the area. This will encourage the emergence of new businesses or expand existing businesses, with the increase in these businesses the surrounding community can get jobs as employees or open their own businesses. So, directly or indirectly, the construction of boarding houses helps reduce the number of unemployed in the area. 2) The construction of boarding houses has a very good impact on community income. The impact of economic activities carried out by the community will support increasing community income. The construction of boarding houses also creates a shift in economic activities carried out by the community.

Abstract

Community service in Narmada Village, West Lombok, aimed to improve the quality of science and technology literacy learning through a contextual and educational approach. These activities included teaching practices using simple teaching aids, training in developing locally-based Lesson Plans (RPPs), and digital image security education using the SCBIE encryption algorithm. Results showed significant improvements in students' understanding of science concepts and active participation, as well as teachers' skills in designing relevant RPPs. Furthermore, an understanding of the effectiveness of the SCBIE algorithm was gained, with the use of a single key yielding higher e-RMS values, indicating a stronger encryption level. A comparison of the performance of algorithms A and B was also discussed during the training, emphasizing the importance of balancing speed, accuracy, and memory efficiency in implementing image cryptography. This activity significantly contributed to improving educational capacity and digital literacy at the village level.

Abstract

The Dasan Geres Tengah neighborhood of Dasan Geres Village, Gerung District, West Lombok Regency, has a standard economic condition because the community has an average livelihood as Farmers and Traders. The role in contributing to creating new skills to be developed in the village by young men and women and housewives in particular is not very exposed by the people in the area. In this regard, the role of youth groups and housewives in the Dasan Geres Tengah neighborhood is expected to be able to create initiatives in making simple skills activities, a small example of which is the use of land in developing food houses that can be used continuously, so that it can be useful in helping to facilitate the basic daily needs of housewives in particular.
