Abstract

The results of observations of practical shirt-making lessons at SMK Widya Praja Ungaran revealed several problems, including slow achievement of learning objectives, students' lack of understanding of sewing techniques, incomplete learning media that are still based on the 2013 Curriculum, and the absence of e-modules integrated with the Merdeka Curriculum Phase F. In addition, most of the students' products did not meet the minimum passing grade of 75. This study aims to develop an e-module for shirt making, determine its feasibility, and assess its practicality. The method used is research and development with the ADDIE model, which consists of five stages: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. A questionnaire was used as a research instrument to collect data. The feasibility of the e-module was assessed by three subject matter experts and three media experts. The validation results showed that the e-module obtained a feasibility percentage of 91.67% from subject matter experts and 96.05% from media experts, both of which were classified as highly feasible. The practicality of the e-module was assessed by 21 students in class XI DPB 1. The appearance aspect scored 85.24% (very practical), the material presentation aspect scored 84.05% (practical), and the benefit aspect scored 82.31% (practical), with an average practicality of 83.86% (practical). Thus, the developed e-module is highly feasible and practical for use as a learning medium for shirt-making material for students in the Fashion Expertise Program Phase F.

Abstract

This study aims to explain the application of the circular fashion concepts in the ready-to-wear fashion collection “Veerangana” through the utilization of upcycled denim and tenun bulu textiles within a single aesthetic and functional design. The research background is grounded in the increasing volume of textile waste resulting from linear consumption patterns and the limited use of traditional textiles in contemporary fashion, thereby indicating the need for innovation that supports environmental sustainability and the preservation of local culture. The method applied is Research and Development (R&D) using the ADDIE model, which consists of the stages of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation, encompassing literature review, concept and moodboard development, as well as the prototyping and construction of the “Veerangana” fashion. Product feasibility was assessed through expert judgment by three fashion design experts using six indicators: design, sizing, aesthetics, sewing technique, performance, and uniqueness indicators. The assessment results show that the “Veerangana” ready-to-wear fashion falls into the “Highly Feasible” category, thus meeting visual, constructional, and functional feasibility standards, and has the potential to serve as a model of circular fashion implementation that contributes to reducing textile waste and strengthening the position of tenun bulu within the sustainable fashion industry.

Abstract

This study examines the development of contemporary ready-to-wear apparel “Viramrdu” by integrating upcycled denim and tenun bulu as an effort to address textile waste issues while preserving traditional Indonesian textiles. The rapid growth of the fashion industry has increased denim waste and reduced the relevance of local textiles in modern fashion, necessitating sustainable and innovative design approaches. This study employed a Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE model, which includes analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation stages. Product feasibility was assessed through expert judgment involving three professional fashion designers using evaluation indicators covering design, size, aesthetics, sewing techniques, fashion performance, and product uniqueness. The findings indicate that the “Viramrdu” ready-to-wear fashhion achieved a “Highly Feasible” category across all assessment indicators, demonstrating strong design quality, proportional sizing, aesthetic value, functional comfort, and innovation in material exploration. The integration of upcycled denim and tenun bulu successfully produced a contemporary, edgy, and functional fashion while maintaining sustainability principles. This study concludes that combining upcycled materials with traditional textiles has significant potential to support the development of sustainable ready-to-wear fashion with a strong design identity and market relevance.

Abstract

The development of fashion trends influenced by technology and social media has increased fashion consumption among the public, especially teenagers. The rise of fast fashion accelerates the trend cycle while contributing to the increasing volume of patchwork waste. This condition encourages design innovation that supports sustainable fashion. This study aims to explain the process of making and analyzing the feasibility of bustier and peplum using a puzzle-shaped patchwork  technique by utilizing batik patchwork fabric waste from a production house in the Sekaran area, Gunungpati. The research method uses a quantitative descriptive approach with data collection techniques using observation sheets. The research instrument was tested for validity using the Aiken's Coefficient V with the validity results of 30 assessment items having a V value of ≥ 0.75 and stating that all items are valid. The reliability test used intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC) with a single measure value of 0.926, and an average measure of 0.978, showing very good reliability. The data analysis in this study uses percentage descriptive analysis to produce quantitative data. The results of the study show that; 1) The making of bustiers and peplums begins with a moodboard and design that is used as a reference, then the manufacturing process is carried out gradually and systematically, starting from the determination of tools and materials, pattern making, sewing process, and final finishing; 2) The results of the feasibility analysis based on the assessment of 5 expert panelists and 20 trained panelists on six indicators show that the category is very feasible with The overall percentage is 94%, with the assessment results of each indicator, namely design of 16.07%, speciality of 16.02%, aesthetics of 15.73%, fashion performance of 15.60%, size of 15.52%, and sewing technique of 15.37%, which as a whole show good assessment results.

Abstract

Kudus Kretek Dance, as part of intangible cultural heritage, struggles to stay preserved because foreign culture dominates social media. Bringing local cultural heritage into modern fashion is a key way to revive culture, but past studies have used weaving techniques only as decorations, not as core construction. This research examines whether "Hayuma" ready-to-wear fashion can be inspired by Kudus Kretek Dance and incorporate weaving as a central element of its structure. A descriptive quantitative approach is used, backed by three fashion experts. The research tool is a validation sheet assessing six areas, including design, looks, size, sewing, garment performance, and product uniqueness, with a Guttman scale. Data were analyzed using a descriptive percentage method and understood using feasibility categories. "Hayuma" fashion scored 93.8% feasibility, placing it in the "Highly Feasible" category. The product blended elements of Kudus Kretek Dance with Kudus batik and tobacco-flower designs, and toh watu shawl and weaving on the sleeves, in a stylish, dramatic way for people aged 18-30. Conclusion: "Hayuma" ready-to-wear fashion is highly feasible for production and sale as a modern fashion item, boosting local cultural values, innovative weaving techniques, and quality crafts, helping to revitalize intangible cultural heritage through Indonesia's fashion industry.
