Abstract

Objective: This study examines the effectiveness of online licensing services through the Online Single Submission (OSS) system in supporting the development of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Sidoarjo Regency. Method: A qualitative method with a case study approach was applied, involving MSME actors and DPMPTSP officers through interviews, observations, and document collection. Results:  The findings indicate that OSS simplifies the licensing process, enhances transparency, and accelerates the issuance of Business Identification Numbers (NIB). However, the main challenges identified include low levels of digital literacy and insufficient technical support, particularly for micro-enterprises in rural areas. The analysis employs Budiani’s effectiveness theory and Richard M. Steers’ concept of organizational effectiveness, which emphasizes that an organization’s success can be assessed by the extent to which individual behavior and institutional structures work in harmony to achieve predetermined goals. The results show that the indicators of socialization and monitoring function relatively well, while target accuracy and clarity of objectives still need improvement. Novelty: This study suggests enhancing digital literacy, simplifying the system, and providing continuous assistance to ensure that OSS becomes more inclusive and responsive to the needs of MSMEs in the region.

Abstract

Objective: This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the SinergiSmart–Info Harga Application in controlling price fluctuations of essential goods in Mojokerto Regency. The research focuses on four indicators of program effectiveness as proposed by Budiani, namely target accuracy, socialization, objectives, and program monitoring. Method: The method used is a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation at the Department of Industry and Trade of Mojokerto Regency. Data analysis employed the interactive model of Miles and Huberman, which includes data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. Results:  The research results indicate that the SinergiSmart–Info Harga application is quite effective in terms of target accuracy and program monitoring indicators. The application successfully reaches a wide range of users, including consumers, MSME actors, and policymakers, and serves as an early detection tool for price fluctuations that facilitates government interventions, such as market operations. However, its effectiveness in the areas of program dissemination and goal achievement remains suboptimal. The lack of formal dissemination efforts has resulted in a relatively low number of users, while limitations in features such as price trend graphs and commodity stock availability information restrict the application’s ability to comprehensively support price fluctuation control. Novelty: The novelty of this research lies in its focus on analyzing the effectiveness of the SinergiSmart–Info Harga digital-based application at the regional level, involving direct perspectives from both government institutions and user communities. This study highlights the application's potential as a digital ecosystem that not only provides real-time price information but also serves as a strategic instrument for local governments in maintaining price stability and public purchasing power.

Abstract

Objective: This study aims to describe and analyse the role of integrated health service posts (posyandu) in reducing stunting in Jati Village, Sidoarjo District, Sidoarjo Regency. Method: This study used a qualitative descriptive method, data collection techniques including observation, interviews and documentation, and data analysis using Miles and Huberman's descriptive analysis, which includes data presentation, data reduction and verification. Results: The role of Posyandu as a motivator has been very effective through the implementation of various comprehensive educational and outreach activities. The role of Posyandu as a facilitator has been implemented very well through the provision of adequate facilities, infrastructure, and health services. Third, the role of Posyandu as a mobiliser has been very effective in mobilising and coordinating various community resources for stunting prevention. The role of motivator raises community awareness and motivation, the role of facilitator provides the means and services to realise this motivation, and the role of mobiliser mobilises all elements of the community in a collective movement to prevent stunting.  Novelty: This study uses a comprehensive theoretical framework from Tjokroamidjojo's role theory, which classifies organisational roles into three dimensions (motivator, facilitator, and mobiliser) to analyse the working mechanisms of Posyandu in stunting prevention, unlike previous studies that tended to be descriptive or evaluative of programmes without a strong theoretical basis.

Abstract

Objective: This study aims to explain the collaborative process carried out by students of the Faculty of Business, Law, and Social Sciences (FBHIS), Universitas Muhammadiyah Sidoarjo, in designing the official logo of the Association for Collaboration in Worldwide Academia (ACWA) as a representation of its visual identity and international branding strategy. Method: A descriptive qualitative approach was employed through several systematic stages, including needs analysis, brainstorming, visual exploration, iterative design refinement, and final validation with ACWA representatives. Data were collected through discussions, feedback sessions, and direct coordination with the partner institution. Results:  The findings show that the final logo successfully embodies ACWA’s core values of academic collaboration, openness to knowledge, and intercultural synergy. The chosen visual elements stacked books, a bookmark icon, sans-serif typography, and a yellow black color palette effectively communicate ACWA’s academic orientation and international identity. ACWA expressed strong satisfaction with the final design, noting its alignment with the initial brief and its readiness for implementation as soon as the organization’s legal and digital infrastructures are officially launched. Novelty: The novelty of this study lies in demonstrating how visual communication theory, particularly Kress and van Leeuwen’s representational framework, can be integrated into community service activities to produce a collaboratively constructed and culturally sensitive visual identity for an emerging international academic consortium.

Abstract

Objective:  This study attempts to narrow the gap in the implementation of how people perceive, accept, and interpret challenges of color-coded waste bin systems in Nigerian cities, particularly in Lokoja, Kogi State, as a response to the challenges of municipal solid waste management. Method: This study employed a qualitative research design to investigate in-depth viewpoints, experiences, and recommendations regarding current waste management procedures and solutions. A total of twenty purposefully chosen participants were involved: ten residents (R1–R10), five local government representatives (LG1–LG5), three waste collectors (WC1–WC3), and two community leaders (CL1–CL2). Phenomenology was used to understand how different stakeholders perceive and experience issues related to waste segregation, focusing on the possibility of color-coded bins. Data were collected using semi-structured interviews and focus groups, then transcribed verbatim and analyzed thematically using NVivo 12. Results: The results indicated that the adoption of color-coded bins based on traffic signal colors that are already culturally familiar was viewed favorably, despite potential obstacles such as cost, low education levels, and enforcement challenges. Participants also highlighted the financial and environmental benefits, including increased recycling rates, reduced landfill reliance, and income streams. Overall, there was moderate awareness of waste management challenges, and the color-coded bins were seen as a culturally relevant and pragmatic solution to waste disposal issues in Lokoja. Novelty: This study presents a novel approach to addressing municipal waste management issues in Nigerian cities by introducing a color-coded bin system that is culturally familiar and practically applicable, aiming to improve waste segregation. The study also emphasizes the need for collaboration among government agencies, community stakeholders, academic institutions, and international partners to ensure the successful implementation of such interventions.
