Abstract

In the development of social media, it is used by the younger generation as a place to interact and create creative digital content. One of them is the younger generation who like the world of cinema, they can interact and exchange opinions between film lovers and get the latest information about films that will be shown. The Discord application is a social media platform, which was previously established as a place for game lovers as a communication tool in the form of voice calls, video calls and written messages. However, the development of Discord Application technology is not only used by game lovers, so the Discord platform has sprung up online communities that use Discord as a forum for film discussion. With the Discord Application, movie lovers can interact with each other. The purpose of this study is to find out how effective interpersonal communication is in discord applications in the film lover community. This study uses a quantitative survey method, in this survey method is used to collect information by observing and examining a subject.

Abstract

Tak kurang dari 1,I juta ton sampah popok dibuang ke sungai Brantas dan mencemari sungai yang menjadi 98% sumber air minum bagi Jawa Timur. Desa Tlasih di Kabupaten Sidoarjo merupakan salah satu desa yang dilintasi oleh anak sungai Brantas, dan permasalahan sampah popok pun juga pengabdi temui di sini. Untuk membantu mengatasi permasalahan tersebut maka pengabdi menyelenggarakan kegiatan Sosialisasi Bahaya Sampah Popok Sekali Pakai dan Workshop Pembuatan Popok Reusable. Metode yang digunakan melalui beberapa tahap yaitu: penyebaran kuisioner, sosialisasi, workshop, dokumentasi, pembuatan buku tutorial membuat popok reusable dan penyusunan laporan akhir. Hasil dari kegiatan, masyarakat mendapat pengetahuan seputar bahaya sampah popok bagi lingkungan dan kesehatan, serta mampu membuat sendiri popok reusable dari kain.

Abstract

Youtube is a very popular media by the people in Indonesia, especially the makeup artist. According to data from Wearesocial, Youtube has occupied the first position with a percentage of approximately 88%, and then followed by a second position and so on by Facebook, Whatsapp, and Instagram. Yotube itself is about entertainment, Video clips, or Vlog (Video Blog) where the vlogs can contain about private vacation videos, promote goods or products, or daily activities in this research using video blogs From Tasya Farasya entitled "Focallure One Brand Makeup Tutorial!!". The purpose of this research is to find out how the perception of Make up artist (MUA) is a product review through beauty vlogger on Youtube. This research uses qualitative descriptive research method with in-depth interview techniques and participants in this study as many as 5 people in the Make up artist (MUA). The results of this research show that the informant budgeted that the video blog of Tasya Farasya which contained about the product review is beneficial and very helpful in product selection.

Abstract

This research is explanation if Molod Bawean Festival that held by Kerukunan Toghellen Bawean is appropriate with event marketing process as defined by Lynn Van Der Wagen. And then it will be seen, how event Molod Bawean Festival could be a Bawean Island tourism promotion strategy. This qualitative research is held in Bawean Island, Gresik. The research subject is the Molod Bawean Festival Head Committee and also Head of the Kerukunan Toghellen Bawean who is made the Molod Bawean Festival as an annual event. On a deeper interview that done as a data-capture technique, could be said that this Molod Bawean Festival is held with the process as defined by Lynn Van Der Wagen but still not so perfect. Using Berentang Kota Negara Benua, Molod Bawean Festival should be an effective event marketing in promoting Bawean Island Tourism if it’s held through a maximal event marketing process.

Abstract

The study, entitled "The Effect of Community Relations conducted by the management of PT Ecco Indonesia toward Tenggulunan community’s Understanding on Industrial Waste Management" aims to determine the effect of community relations conducted by the management of PT Ecco Indonesia toward the Understanding of people living in the vicinity of the company on industrial waste generated. This quantitative study used a sample of 95 respondents. The research data were then analyzed using simple linear regression analysis. The results show that 1) the community relations was done well enough by the management of PT Ecco Indonesia (67.3%), 2) the public's understanding on industrial waste of PT Ecco Indonesia is also quite good (68.8%), 3) there is an effect of community relations of management of PT Ecco Indonesia toward the understanding of people living in Tenggulunan on industrial waste management, 4) the accepted hypothesis shows that that there is a significant relationship between community relations done by the management of PT Ecco Indonesia with public awareness about waste management industry amounted to 81,5%.

Abstract

The objective of this study is to analyze the meaning contained in communication symbols in the version of "New Jakarta" campaign advertisement of Joko Widodo - Tjahaja Basuki Purnama in television, how the messages conveyed through the advertisement sets the image of Joko Widodo - Tjahaja Basuki Purnama at Jakarta election 2012, and the perception of some viewers from the author point of view. This type of study is a qualitative descriptive using communication semiology analysis approach. As a descriptive study, it only describes the situation or discourse, does not look for a relationship, tests hypotheses or makes predictions. This study uses qualitative data so the data are substantive categories which are then interpreted by scientific references. In the data analysis, the author uses Roland Barthes' semiotic system with the concept of denotation and connotation as the first level, mythologies (myth) as the second level, as well as metonymy and metaphor as the concept of intertextual. The result of study show that the image of Joko Widodo - Tjahaja Basuki Purnama is found in the couple’s self-claim that they are agents of change who can bring people's expectations about the city of Jakarta into real, namely for a better condition of the road in the city, regular city planning, cleanness and flood prevention.

Abstract

Feminism is one of issues which always talked about. It is a reason for a young director like Nia Dinata in Kalyana Shira Films Production House makes some documenter films about woman (feminism). One of them is Pertaruhan. In this film, there is 4 segmens, and in the second segmen has title “Untuk Apa?” raises about female circumcision. In this segmen there are many symbols and signs which has hidden meanings. Semiotic used to reveal that denotation sign of female circumcisionin this film is as an implementation of syari’ah Islam. Connotative sign in this film is female circumcisionas a tradition and culture in society. They believe that female circumcisionis one of legitimate terms for being a Moslem. Myths in this film is an animism culture in society, people’s belief that female circumcisionable to decrease number of cheating in marriage and able to give more satisfy to her partner when doing intimate relationship.

Abstract

This research method used the study of communication ethnography with phenomenology approach. The result of the research stated that the communication pattern of parents and children in "Kampung Inggris" Dusun Mangunrejo Tulungrejo Village Pare Sub-district Kediri Regency was the primary communication process in using Ngoko Language that was dominated by Indonesian language. The child did not master and did not had the ability to use Javanese language well, in Java language level that exist in Javanese culture.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine how interpersonal communication between teacher and children with special needs in learning activities inclusive class at senior high school 1 Gedangan. This study used descriptive qualitative method by in-depth interview and observation. Data analysis technique used analytic descriptive method which included collection and composing of data analysis. The result of this study was the teacher in Senior High School 1 Gedangan had done five general quality process into the value of effectiveness interpersonal communication through the way they communicate in the learning process. However, not all of these indicators could be implemented in the type of direct communication. Empathy in the interpersonal communication manifested into the type of giving method in order to facilitate understanding that done by children with special needs. In addition, interpersonal communication through openness process in resolving problem that involve children with special needs and supportiveness through curriculum and method implementation, different implementation between children with special needs and regurel students.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of promotional mix of decision making in choosing Universitas Muhammadiyah Sidoarjo (UMSIDA) on alumni of SMA Kemala Bhayangkari 3 Porong. This type of research is quantitative, with the type of descriptive correlational research. Population and sample in this research are alumni of SMA Kemala Bhayangkari 3 Porong counted 91 people. Data collection using Likert Scale, with five alternative answers or scores. Methods of data collection using questionnaires with multiple linear regression analysis techniques using SPSS V16.0 program. The result of this research is promotion mix influencing decision making process of choosing UMSIDA 45,9% and the rest equal to 54,1% influenced by factors not examined. From the partial test, the most influential promotional mix in decision making is advertising, while public relations and personal selling have no influence in decision making of UMSIDA.
