Abstract

Hand pain and joint stiffness are common complaints among older adults and reduce independence in daily activities. This community service program aimed to reduce hand complaints, improve hand functional ability, and increase participants’ understanding of self-management among members of the elderly integrated health post (Posyandu Lansia) in Tohudan Village, Colomadu, Karanganyar, Indonesia. Thirty participants were involved, consisting of older adults with hand complaints, health cadres, and family caregivers. The program comprised health education through lectures, demonstrations, and question-and-answer sessions, followed by paraffin bath therapy at 40–44°C combined with hand exercise therapy in the form of joint mobilisation, intrinsic muscle exercise, and gripping exercise, delivered once a week for four weeks. Participants’ understanding was measured before and after the program using a five-item questionnaire with a four-point scale. The mean understanding score increased from 6.30 ± 1.09 to 16.90 ± 2.28 out of 20, a mean gain of 10.60 ± 2.30 points that was statistically significant (paired t-test, p < 0.001; Cohen’s d = 4.61). All participants reached at least the understand category and rated the program as highly beneficial (91.9%).

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the factors influencing customer satisfaction in e-commerce services in Indonesia, focusing on Generation Z as the dominant user segment of digital shopping platforms. Using an explanatory quantitative approach, data were collected from 100 respondents who actively transact on Shopee and TikTok Shop, selected through purposive sampling, and analyzed using multiple linear regression in SPSS. The independent variables examined were E-Service Quality, Perceived Ease of Use, Live Shopping Engagement, and Perceived Security, while Customer Satisfaction served as the dependent variable. The results show that all four variables have a positive and significant effect on customer satisfaction, both partially and simultaneously (F = 27.956; Sig. = 0.000), explaining 52.1% of the variance in customer satisfaction (Adjusted R² = 0.521). Perceived Ease of Use emerged as the most dominant factor (β = 0.299), followed by E-Service Quality (β = 0.260), Perceived Security (β = 0.219), and Live Shopping Engagement (β = 0.176). These findings suggest that e-commerce platforms should prioritize simplifying navigation and improving system usability to strengthen customer satisfaction, while continuing to enhance service quality, transaction security, and live shopping features as complementary strategies for retaining Generation Z consumers.

Abstract

Clean water is a basic need that must be met to support the daily activities of communities, including in Tebing Tanah Puteh Village, West Prabumulih District. However, the fulfillment of clean water needs in this area still relies heavily on drilled wells as an alternative source, while research on the management, quality, and sustainability of this water source remains limited, particularly regarding its socio-environmental impact once operational. This raises the question of how drilled wells function in meeting residents' clean water needs and what factors must be considered to maintain the quality and continuity of the water source. This study aims to understand the role of drilled wells in meeting the clean water needs of residents in Tebing Tanah Puteh Village, West Prabumulih District. This study uses a qualitative approach with a literature study method, examining existing sources such as relevant articles and scientific journals, which are then analyzed descriptively to summarize findings systematically. The results show that drilled wells play a significant role in helping communities meet daily needs such as bathing, washing, cooking, and hygiene. However, their use must be accompanied by proper facility maintenance, routine water quality monitoring, and environmental cleanliness around the well to ensure the water source remains safe, sustainable, and usable on a continuous basis for the community.

Abstract

This study analyzes organizational culture in work discipline as an effort to improve employee performance at the Secretariat of the Lampung Provincial DPRD. The study was motivated by variations in employee discipline, uneven internalization of organizational values across work units, and the need for more consistent performance control. A qualitative descriptive approach was used. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, direct observation, and documentation involving leaders and employees who understood the implementation of organizational culture and work discipline. Data validity was strengthened through source, method, and time triangulation as well as member checks, while analysis followed data reduction, data display, and conclusion verification. The findings show that organizational artifacts, integrity, responsibility, professionalism, teamwork, basic assumptions about discipline, and professional work ethics support the development of disciplined behavior and better performance. However, inconsistent enforcement of rules, unequal perceptions of fairness, limited two-way communication, and leadership practices that are not fully consistent remain obstacles. Strengthening organizational values, fair rule enforcement, exemplary leadership, and continuous evaluation are therefore required to sustain employee discipline and performance.

Abstract

Rural catering enterprises face increasingly intense competition, as reflected in the fluctuating order volumes experienced by Pawon Fitri Catering in Sambeng District, Lamongan Regency, despite its relatively affordable pricing. This suggests that purchase decisions are not determined by price alone but are also shaped by consumers' perceptions of product attributes. This study examines the effects of taste, food quality, and menu variety on purchase decisions, both directly and through price as an intervening variable. An explanatory quantitative approach with a survey method was employed at Pawon Fitri Catering, Sambeng, Lamongan. The population comprised 1,400 consumers, from which a sample of 104 respondents was determined through purposive sampling based on the Slovin formula. Data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling with SmartPLS version 4. The findings reveal that taste significantly affects both purchase decisions and price, whereas food quality and menu variety do not directly affect purchase decisions but significantly influence price. Price significantly affects purchase decisions and mediates the effects of the three exogenous variables, partially for taste and fully for food quality and menu variety. These findings confirm price's dual role, indicating that catering businesses should align their product strategies with appropriate pricing policies to enhance consumers' purchase decisions

Abstract

The limited time available to urban communities in accessing motor vehicle tax services has prompted UPTD SAMSAT Manyar, Surabaya, to develop a Last-mile delivery innovation called PAK LEMAN (Pelayanan Antar Ke Layanan Mandiri / Home-Delivery Tax Service). This study aims to evaluate the implementation of this service, encompassing its operational coordination mechanisms, service quality, and the factors influencing community adoption of the innovation. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed, with data collected through in-depth interviews, field observation, and document analysis, subsequently analyzed using the interactive model of Miles and Huberman (1994). The findings reveal that the PAK LEMAN service grew by 246.7 percent over two years of operation (2023–2024), with a total of 2,580 vehicles served, supported by an effective multi-layered coordination system and community trust-based organic diffusion. A SERVQUAL evaluation indicates that the assurance dimension constitutes the primary strength of the service, while the responsiveness and tangibles dimensions still require improvement. Based on Rogers’ (2003) innovation diffusion attributes, PAK LEMAN demonstrates high relative advantage, compatibility, trialability, and observability, although the minimum requirement of five vehicles per visit remains a barrier for individual taxpayers. This study recommends reviewing the vehicle threshold requirement, expanding service coverage areas, and encouraging replication of the PAK LEMAN model at other SAMSAT units as an effort to enhance Last-mile delivery-based public service accessibility in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the improvement of literacy and numeracy skills of kindergarten and elementary school children through the use of recycled waste as contextual learning media in Pitewi Village, Keerom Regency, Papua. The study used a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation of the learning process, children's involvement, and teacher and community experiences. Learning media were developed from locally available recycled materials, such as bottle caps, cardboard, cans, paper, and old newspapers. The results showed that before the intervention, children's literacy and numeracy skills were generally in the Beginning to Develop (MB) category. After the implementation of recycled media, there was an increase in the achievement of literacy indicators from 35% to 78% in phonological and letter awareness, and from 30% to 85% in word formation and comprehension. In numeracy, the achievement of the indicator for recognizing symbols and quantities increased from 28% to 82%, while for patterns, geometry, and basic operations increased from 25% to 88%. The use of recycled loose parts also increases children's active engagement, curiosity, creativity, and courage in learning. Thus, recycled media has proven to be an affordable, contextual, participatory, and sustainable learning alternative for strengthening children's literacy and numeracy in remote areas of Papua.
