Abstract

This study examines the implementation of student administration and management at MIN 1 Lhokseumawe, aiming to formulate a character-based and inclusive management model within Islamic education. Administration operates at the policy and strategic planning level, including the formulation of regulations, record-keeping, and oversight of student-related policies. Meanwhile, management focuses on operational implementation, such as student admission (PPDB), character development, counseling services, and personal growth activities. This research employed a qualitative approach with a case study design, using interviews, observations, and document analysis. Data were analyzed following the Miles et al. model through data condensation, display, and conclusion drawing, with triangulation of sources and methods to ensure validity. The findings reveal that the integration of administration and management at the madrasah is realized using the EMIS system, regular evaluative meetings, and collaborative leadership between teachers and school administrators. The application of Islamic values such as syūrā (consultation), amānah (trustworthiness), and iḥsān (excellence) serves as the moral foundation of the entire management process. The resulting model can be categorized as collaborative and data-driven management, integrating administrative policy direction with adaptive and reflective managerial practices. This synergy creates an accountable, participatory, and character-oriented student management system aligned with the spirit of modern Islamic education.

Abstract

The improvement of students’ learning achievement is influenced not only by internal factors of the learners but also by the effectiveness of student management implemented by educational institutions. This study aims to analyze the forms of student management implementation in supporting the improvement of students’ achievement at MAN 4 Aceh Selatan. This research employs a descriptive qualitative approach with a field research design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation. The research informants consisted of the principal, the vice principal for student affairs, and the vice principal for curriculum affairs. Data were analyzed inductively through the stages of data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing, using triangulation techniques to ensure data validity. The findings indicate that the implementation of student management at MAN 4 Aceh Selatan covers four main aspects: (1) Planning, which is carried out by aligning students’ potentials and interests with various flagship programs such as Qur’an memorization (tahfiz al-Qur’an), Qur’anic recitation (tilāwah), and vocational skills; (2) Organizing, which is conducted collaboratively among school leaders and supervising teachers; (3) Implementation, which focuses on fostering students’ discipline, responsibility, and competitiveness; and (4) Evaluation, which is conducted periodically through meetings and performance monitoring. The school culture developed through the slogan “Madrasahnya Para Juara” (“The School of Champions”) encourages high learning motivation and a strong spirit of achievement among students.

Abstract

This study aims to analyse the forms and strategies of integrating climate change education into the curriculum and school culture at SMA Sukma Bangsa Lhokseumawe, as well as to assess its impact on students’ environmental literacy and character development. The research employed a qualitative approach with a case study design, focusing on an in-depth understanding of the practices of integrating climate change education within the school setting. Data was collected through in-depth interviews with the principal and teachers, classroom observations, document analysis of school policies and teaching modules, and questionnaires distributed to students. Data analysis followed the Miles and Huberman model, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, while validation was ensured through source and method triangulation. The findings reveal that the integration of climate change education at SMA Sukma Bangsa Lhokseumawe is systematically implemented through project-based interdisciplinary learning, the strengthening of an environmentally friendly school culture, and teacher capacity enhancement through global collaboration. The Green School Project (GSP) serves as a key catalyst in fostering students’ ecological awareness and sustainable behavior. This study concludes that synergy among curriculum, school culture, and instructional leadership is the critical factor driving the success of the climate change education model. The study recommends the development of adaptive curriculum guidelines tailored to local environmental issues and teacher training programs focused on sustainability pedagogy to enhance the implementation of climate-conscious education in schools.

Abstract

Ar-Rasūl al-Mu’allim wa Asālibuhu fī al-Ta’līm by Shaykh Abdul Fattah Abu Ghuddah is one of the classical references that systematically illustrates the teaching methods of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). This study aims to identify and analyze the learning principles exemplified by the Prophet and to evaluate their relevance within the context of contemporary Islamic Religious Education (PAI). The research employs a descriptive qualitative approach using content analysis of the text Ar-Rasūl al-Mu’allim. Data were examined through a literature review, synthesis of Islamic educational theories, and integration of relevant previous research findings. Each learning principle was analyzed based on its pedagogical, psychological, and methodological structure. The study identifies fourteen learning principles of the Prophet Muhammad: (1) gradual approach, (2) maintaining motivation, (3) considering individual differences, (4) nurturing the soul, (5) optimizing reasoning, (6) facilitating understanding, (7) using instructional media, (8) providing rewards, (9) capturing attention, (10) offering detailed answers, (11) being active in teaching, (12) reinforcement through repetition, (13) employing various methods, and (14) contextualizing situations. These principles are grouped into four main categories: cognitive, affective, social, and methodological strategies. The findings indicate that the Prophet’s teaching methods were holistic, adaptive, and highly relevant to 21st-century learning approaches. Integrating these principles into Islamic Religious Education can enhance teaching effectiveness, depth of understanding, and character formation among learners.

Abstract

Ta’limul Muta’allim by Shaykh Al-Zarnuji is one of the classical works of Islamic education that presents principles of learning rooted in spirituality, ethics, and practical wisdom. Amid the transformation of modern education characterized by digitalization and evolving learning methods, it is important to revisit the relevance of these classical concepts in shaping meaningful and character-based learning. This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach using library research and comparative analysis methods. Data were collected through a literature review of Ta’limul Muta’allim and various contemporary educational sources. The analysis was conducted systematically through content analysis and source triangulation techniques to identify the relevance of classical principles to the challenges of modern education. The findings indicate that the key concepts in Ta’limul Muta’allim, such as sincere intention, time discipline, consistency, the teacher’s role as a spiritual guide, as well as the methods of practice and discussion, remain highly relevant in addressing current educational challenges. These principles align with active learning approaches, character-based education, and values-oriented pedagogy. The values embedded in Ta’limul Muta’allim strengthen the spiritual, ethical, and reflective dimensions of learning, thereby fostering learners who are not only intellectually competent but also virtuous and capable of facing contemporary challenges with wisdom.

Abstract

One of the key terms used in the Qur’an and Hadith to describe human beings is al-Insān, which reflects the spiritual, intellectual, and moral potential that can be developed through education. This study aims to explore in depth the meaning and characteristics of al-Insān as portrayed in the Hadith of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), and to examine its implications for curriculum design and learning strategies in Islamic education. The research employs a qualitative approach using the library research method. Primary data were obtained from Hadiths relevant to the concept of humanity and education, while secondary data were drawn from scholarly literature discussing Islamic educational philosophy, prophetic values, and theories of human potential development. The analysis was conducted through descriptive, textual, and reflective approaches to interpret the meaning and educational relevance of al-Insān. The findings reveal that al-Insān in Hadith is depicted as a being endowed with intellect, soul, heart, and moral responsibility, functioning both as a servant of God and a steward on earth. Prophetic values such as honesty, commitment, and compassion form the core of character development in learners. The concept of al-Insān al-Kāmil—the perfected human—emerges as the ultimate goal of Islamic education, necessitating a value-based curriculum and balanced learning strategies that foster both spiritual and intellectual dimensions. Thus, the concept of al-Insān in the Hadith provides a strong conceptual foundation for Islamic education, aiming to cultivate individuals who are faithful, knowledgeable, and morally upright.
