Abstract

This study aims to examine the role of the West Nusa Tenggara Provincial Environment and Forestry Agency (DLHK) in implementing sustainable environmental management and community empowerment efforts. The research was conducted using a qualitative approach to gain an in-depth understanding of the institutional role, program implementation, and various challenges faced by the DLHK in maintaining a balance between environmental conservation and socio-economic development. Data collection was carried out through in-depth interviews with DLHK NTB officials and direct observation of the organizational structure, infrastructure, and implementation of environmental programs. In addition, local government support through policies, regulations, and cross-sector coordination strengthens program sustainability, while the use of environmental service technology promotes transparency and public participation. This study confirms that sustainable environmental management in NTB Province requires a holistic approach that integrates ecological, social, and economic aspects with active community involvement.

Abstract

This research aims to formulate policy recommendations for the Provincial DPRD and Local Government in realizing systematic, adaptive, and inclusive ideological political education within political parties. Using a qualitative approach with the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method, this research analyzes scientific findings from reputable national and international journals published within the last six years (2020-2025), obtained through the Dimensions and Scopus databases. Selection criteria included thematic relevance, publication quality, full-text access, and use of Indonesian or English. The study results indicate that ideological polarization has become a significant structural challenge to strengthening political education within political parties, hindering the regeneration process and weakening commitment to democratic values. The findings also highlight the lack of a structured political education curriculum and the low digital literacy of young cadres. Therefore, synergy between DPRDs, local governments, and political parties is necessary to establish a democratic and sustainable political education ecosystem. This research recommends the need for evidence-based policies to design a cross-disciplinary ideological curriculum, as well as strengthening digital media literacy capacity in political education cadres at the regional level.

Abstract

Public service represents the government’s responsibility to fulfill citizens’ basic needs through the provision of goods, services, and administrative assistance in accordance with legal regulations. In the context of healthcare, Community Health Centers (Puskesmas) play a vital role as the frontline of public service aimed at improving community health standards. This study examines the implementation of public service at Puskesmas Sekotong from the perspective of the New Public Service (NPS), which emphasizes participatory, collaborative, transparent, and citizen-oriented principles. The findings show that Puskesmas Sekotong has implemented a digital-based service system through the Sehat Indonesiaku (ASIK) application to enhance administrative efficiency and data accuracy, with approximately 60–70% of reports being submitted digitally. Between 2023 and 2025, the total number of patients increased from 9,900 to 10,950, with the most common illnesses being acute respiratory infections (ARI), diarrhea, hypertension, and diabetes, indicating a growing demand for healthcare services. However, several challenges remain, including data integration issues, limited facilities (particularly the lack of a funeral ambulance), and low public awareness of preventive healthcare. Efforts to improve service quality are carried out through human resource development, optimization of facilities and infrastructure, and active community participation in posyandu (integrated service posts), village deliberations, and health cadres. Overall, Puskesmas Sekotong has successfully reflected the core principles of the New Public Service, prioritizing transparency, accountability, and collaboration in delivering inclusive and equitable digital-based public healthcare services.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a comprehensive synthesis of the dynamics of social identity and economic values in Sasak traditional wedding dowry practices, with a focus on the role of the Baiq and Lalu clans in shaping social expectations and increasing dowry values. Using the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method, this study examines literature indexed in Scopus, Google Scholar, and DOAJ for the period 2018–2025. The results indicate that dowry is a multidimensional construct that reflects complex interactions between cultural, social, and economic aspects, and plays a significant role in reinforcing social hierarchy through status symbols and cultural identity. The findings also indicate that most research is descriptive and has not systematically integrated cross-disciplinary approaches, leaving a gap in understanding the transformation of dowry values amidst the currents of modernization. This study recommends three directions for further research: reinterpreting dowry values by the younger generation, developing a dowry model based on social and economic justice, and examining the impact of cultural commercialization on the sanctity of customary practices. The theoretical and practical implications of this study are expected to enhance the understanding of local culture and support adaptive social policy reform grounded in traditional values.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the partial influence of internal and external motivation on employee performance at the Population and Civil Registration Office of Bima Regency. To determine the simultaneous influence of internal and external motivation on employee performance at the Population and Civil Registration Office of Bima Regency. This study employs a quantitative method, utilizing data collection techniques that include distributing questionnaires to a sample of 57 respondents, drawn from a population of 67. The sampling technique used was non-probability-based target sampling. The instrument was tested for reliability, validity, and analysis prerequisites. Based on the study's results, which were analyzed using multiple regression analysis with SPSS version 22 for Windows, the overall results for each partial test indicate that the variables are significant and influential. Based on the calculated F-value of 5.029 with a significant p-value of 0.001 (<0.05), it can be concluded that there is a simultaneous influence of Internal Motivation and External Motivation on Employee Performance. The results show that all independent variables together have a significant influence on the dependent variable, with a significance value of 0.001 (p < 0.05). The magnitude of the simultaneous influence between independent and dependent variables can be seen from the value of the Determination Coefficient (R²) of 0.857, or 85.7%, and the remaining 14.3% is explained by other factors outside the scope of this study. Thus, the hypothesis that there is a significant influence of the independent variables on the Employee Performance variable can be accepted.

Abstract

This study analyzes the dynamics of social forestry management through the Community Forest scheme in Sungai Gelam, Muaro Jambi Regency, with a specific focus on women's empowerment within prolonged tenurial conflicts. The research employs a descriptive qualitative approach, using in-depth interviews, field observations, and document analysis to collect data. The findings indicate that internal conflicts within the Bersatu Arah Maju (BAM) Cooperative and land disputes with the Karya Makmur Farmer Group significantly hinder women's participation in forest management. Although the Community Forest scheme is designed to empower marginal communities, including female-headed households, its implementation faces structural barriers such as tenurial conflicts, institutional legal uncertainty, and patriarchal dominance in decision-making. The 2024 suspension of the BAM Cooperative's Community Forest Business Utilization License (Izin Usaha Pemanfaatan Hutan Kemasyarakatan/IUP-HKm), covering 501 hectares, demonstrates a governance failure that fails to prioritize gender inclusivity. This study recommends strengthening gender-responsive institutions, community-based conflict mediation, and affirmative policies to enhance women's access to and control over forest resources.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze locally based tourism governance practices and identify challenges in developing sustainable tourism destinations in North Lombok Regency, West Nusa Tenggara. The study uses a qualitative case study design. Data were obtained through in-depth interviews with local government officials, tourism village managers, and local institutions, supported by documentary studies. Data analysis used thematic analysis to identify governance patterns, institutional dynamics, and factors influencing destination development. The results show that locally based tourism governance develops through the strengthening of community institutions, such as tourism awareness groups and village-owned enterprises, with the government acting as a facilitator and capacity builder for the community. However, governance implementation still faces various challenges, including policy fragmentation, weak coordination among institutions, limited local institutional capacity, limited fiscal support, dependence on external tourist flows, and disparities in destination development. The findings confirm that the success of sustainable destination development depends heavily on institutional capacity-building, policy integration, and stakeholder collaboration. This study contributes to the development of locally based tourism governance research and provides policy implications for more participatory and sustainable regional tourism management.

Abstract

Corruption in vote buying poses a significant threat to democracy's integrity, particularly when campaign logistics are misused as a covert means of vote buying. This article evaluates the effectiveness of current regulations in distributing campaign logistics to curb vote-buying practices. A bibliometric analysis of 109 scientific publications and trends over the past five years indicates that existing regulations, including Law No. 7 of 2017 and various regulations issued by the General Elections Commission (KPU), remain insufficient to prevent such manipulation. The lack of strict oversight, the public's low political knowledge, and legal loopholes are exploited by politicians to disguise vote buying as social assistance programs. This article proposes a strategic approach that includes regulatory reform, the use of digital technology to monitor campaign logistics, political education, and increased public participation. Collaboration among stakeholders is crucial to establishing a clear oversight system and supporting fair and credible elections.

Abstract

This study examines the escalation of the conflict between Iran and the United States. It analyzes Saudi Arabia's strategic response within the broader framework of regional political security and stability in the Middle East. Although previous studies have discussed the Iran–Saudi rivalry and the geopolitical tensions between Iran and the United States, most analyses remain fragmented and address these issues separately within the frameworks of foreign policy or specific regional conflicts. Consequently, limited research has comprehensively examined how the escalation of the Iran-US conflict interacts with Saudi Arabia’s strategic response and how this interaction influences regional security dynamics. This study employs a qualitative research design using the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach to identify, evaluate, and synthesize relevant scholarly works. Data were collected from the Dimensions Database and Scopus Database, focusing on peer-reviewed publications from 2021 to 2026 that specifically discuss the escalation of the Iran-US conflict and Saudi Arabia’s geopolitical strategies. The findings indicate that the Iran-US confrontation represents a multidimensional geopolitical rivalry shaping regional security structures, alliance formations, and proxy conflicts across the Middle East. In response, Saudi Arabia adopts adaptive strategies through a combination of balancing and hedging, reflected in regional security cooperation, diplomatic engagement, and domestic policy adjustments. However, the intensification of geopolitical rivalry also contributes to structural instability, political polarization, and increasing regional uncertainty, suggesting that sustainable Middle Eastern stability depends on the capacity of regional and global actors to manage strategic competition and develop inclusive collective security mechanisms.
