Abstract

The aquaculture sector is a potential sector because it has long-term outputs with minimal risk. One of the best commodities in the aquaculture sector is seaweed. Indonesia, the world’s largest exporter of seaweed makes this commodity has an incridible value as gold. Furthermore, its high economic value and international trade potential solidify seaweed's nickname as 'green gold'.. Sulampua as the heart of seaweed producers should be able to maximize the potential of this commodity. The economic conditions of the fishing sector have been fluctuating over the last decade. A study of the blue economy is needed to maximize the potential of fishing potential commodities to accelerate economic growth sustainably. This research aims to look at a general view of the potential commodities of seaweed as green gold in the ocean of Sulampua. The variables used to measure seaweed's potential for economic growth in Sulampua are the value of seaweed production, the weight of seaweed production, the number of households in seaweed farming, and the amount of seaweed fishermen. The method used to analyze the impact of seaweed commodity variables on the economic growth of the fishing sector is panel data regression analysis with the Random Effect Model (REM). The selected model shows R-Squared value of 0,4470, which means that 44.70% of the model can explain the influence of the independent variable on the dependent variable. The results show that the variables value of seaweed production and the weight of seaweed production has a significant impact on the economic growth of the fishing sector.

Abstract

Green Open Spaces (RTH) are urban areas filled with vegetation that support ecological benefits, such as reducing greenhouse gases by absorbing CO₂ through photosynthesis. Although RTH accounts for 66 percent of the area along Jalan Hertasning, its effectiveness in absorbing CO₂ emissions from motor vehicles is not fully understood. Given the high volume of vehicles, especially during peak traffic hours, a deeper understanding of the RTH's capability to reduce CO₂ emissions is necessary. This study aims to measure CO₂ emissions from transportation, assess the RTH's ability to absorb CO₂, and develop effective RTH enhancement strategies. The research location is Jalan Hertasning in Makassar City. The method used in this study is descriptive with a quantitative approach. Results show that CO₂ emissions during peak hours cannot be fully absorbed by the existing 508 Trembles trees, which have a total absorption capacity of 1,652.07 kg/hour and cover an area of 4.4 hectares, or 75.9 percent of Jalan Hertasning. There remains 3,168.59 kg/hour of CO₂ emissions from the total 4,820.66 kg/hour during peak traffic. In addition to Trembles trees, there are other trees like Palm and Terminalia mantaly, which are still growing and not included in this study but could increase the RTH's absorption capacity in the future. The high CO₂ emissions from motor vehicles significantly impact air quality and public health. It is recommended that the government actively conduct environmental awareness campaigns focused on reducing CO₂ emissions and the importance of RTH. These campaigns can be carried out through social media, posters along Jalan Hertasning, and community outreach to reduce CO₂ levels by increasing public participation in maintaining RTH.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the adsorption kinetic model of Cd(II) from aqueous solution using Surfactant Modified Activated Carbon-Sodium Lauryl Sulphate (SMAC-SLS). This study began by varying pH, contact time, and adsorbate concentration. The concentration of Cd(II) was measured using a spectrophotometric method. The results of the analysis showed that the optimum pH occurred at pH 5 with an adsorption percentage of 84.58±1.44% and the optimum contact time at 100 minutes with an adsorption percentage of 88.75±1.5%. Furthermore, in the variation of adsorbate concentration, the adsorption percentage decreased with increasing adsorbate concentration. The adsorption kinetics followed a pseudo second order with an R2 value of 0.9945 with an adsorption capacity of 8.89 mg/g. Thus, the use of SMAC-SLS as a future adsorbent for Cd(II) is highly recommended.

Abstract

Research was carried out with the aim of finding out blended learning on the independence and learning outcomes of class XI MAN 1 Makassar City students. A posttest only control design was used in this research, which is a type of quasiexperimental research. Entire class of XI MAN 1 Makassar City, consisting of 12 classes, was used as the population, then selected by random sampling to obtain 4 classes as samples consisting of 3 experimental classes and 1 control class. Implementation of learning in experimental group used an ICT-based MPBK model with blended learning approach, while in the control group used direct instruction learning model with teacher-based learning approach. Data collection on learning independence is non-test instrument in the form of questionnaire and data collection on learning outcomes is test instrument in form of objective and subjective questions. Data results were then analyzed using descriptive statistics followed inferential statistics. Results of the descriptive analysis showed that the experimental group had better independence and learning outcomes than tcontrol group. Results of the inferential analysis used normality tests, homogeneity, hypothesis testing with multivariate analysis of variance tests and further Tukey HSD tests. From hypothesis testing it was found that the significance value was 0.000 < 0.05, so there was influence of blended learning on independence and learning outcomes of class XI MAN 1 Makassar City students. Results of further tests with Tukey HSD for independence and learning outcomes showed that experimental and control groups were in different subset columns so that there were significant differences between groups, which means that statistically blended learning has influence on students' independence and learning outcomes.
