Abstract

Abstract Moringa leaves, with their high nutritional content, have great potential as raw materials for processed products. This research aims to explore the economic potential of moringa leaves through tea and mask processing training for MSMEs in Sumber Makmur Village. The training methods used include demonstration, hands-on practice, and material delivery. The results showed that moringa tea and mask products have good market potential. This training not only increases community income, but also contributes to the economic development of the village. Abstrak Daun kelor, dengan kandungan nutrisi yang tinggi, memiliki potensi besar sebagai bahan baku produk olahan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggali potensi ekonomi daun kelor melalui pelatihan pengolahan teh dan masker kepada UMKM Desa Sumber Makmur. Metode pelatihan yang digunakan meliputi demonstrasi, praktik langsung, dan penyampaian materi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa produk teh dan masker kelor memiliki potensi pasar yang baik. Pelatihan ini bukan saja untuk meningkatkan pendapatan masyarakat, tetapi juga berkontribusi pada pengembangan ekonomi desa.

Abstract

Abstract Indonesia, with its diverse ethnic groups and customs, is rich in various cultures. Traditions are ancestral legacies that continue to be preserved by Indonesian communities, with some traditions performed annually. The Gayo people, for example, maintain their cultural traditions due to their religious significance and their positive impact on the community. One such tradition is Kenduri Nangal. This study aims to describe and analyze the Kenduri Nangal tradition within the Gayo culture. The research employs a descriptive qualitative method, with data collected directly from the field. Data collection methods include direct observation and interviews. The research findings reveal the socio-cultural and religious conditions of the village of Leles, highlighting its unique characteristics. The Kenduri Nangal ritual involves cooking food from buffalo meat, with the community working together in the preparation. After cooking, the food is placed on plates lined with leaves, followed by a communal prayer led by a tengku. Keywords: Nangal, Gayo, East Aceh

Abstract

The community service activity with the theme "Caring for Palestine: Your Resilience and Endurance Are an Inspiration for Us" at TPQ Darul Ihsan aims to raise awareness and concern about the humanitarian conditions faced by the Palestinian people. For a long time, Palestine has been a symbol of struggle and resilience in the face of oppression. Through this activity, the people of Aceh, especially the younger generation, are expected to cultivate empathy and solidarity for the Palestinian struggle. This activity includes education about the history and current situation in Palestine, fundraising to help ease the burden on the Palestinian people, and a children's creativity competition with a Palestine theme. In addition, this activity aims to instill values of resilience and endurance in children, which are expected to serve as motivation in facing life's challenges. This activity also serves as a bridge between the people of Aceh and Palestine, strengthening solidarity among Muslims and building social awareness in the local community. With a spirit of togetherness, this activity is expected to have a positive impact not only on Palestine but also on the young generation involved.

Abstract

Learning tajweed and makhrijul huruf is an important thing for Muslims to be able to read and understand the Al-Quran properly and correctly with matters related to studying the Al-Quran. Darul Anwar TPA is thesubject of one of the community service lecture activities. Based on observations in the field, many Keeh Village TPA students have been able to read the Quran, but the use of tajweed and makharijul letters is still not correct. The objectives in the implementation of learning tajweed and makhrajul letters are: 1). To reduce the possibility of reading the Quran incorrectly, which can change its meaning; 2). to help understand the Quran accurately and completely. The implementation method in this community service activity is PAR (Participatory Action Research) which is supported by observation, interviews and lectures. The results of this community service show that 65% of the students have been able to apply the science of tajweed to be able to read the Quran properly and in accordance with the rules of tajweed science and 80% of the students of TPA Darul Anwar Keeh Village are able to place or pronounce hijaiyah letters according to makhraj. The application of this mentoring method is very helpful for effective learning in educating children to be more active in learning and understanding tajweed and makharijul letters.

Abstract

Plastic waste is a threat to the sustainability of biological natural resources today. Various efforts have been made by local governments, both central and regional, in managing this waste. One of the activities of waste utilization can be through education and processing. The purpose of this community service activity is to educate the youth community of Paya Peunaga Village about the dangers of waste to the environment, coastal ecosystems and humans, as well as provide counseling on the use of plastic waste that can have economic value. The methods used in this activity are counseling and demonstration. Educational activities utilize plastic waste from surrounding coastal areas into recyclables such as plastic waste into flowers and keychains. This activity does not significantly reduce the volume of waste, but can increase innovation, creative ideas, and build good social relationships. Keywords : Waste, Utilization, West Aceh

Abstract

Technical training in traditional cake processing using the Participatory Action Research (PAR) method serves as a strategic approach to fostering the independence of students (santri) at Islamic learning centers (balai pengajian). This community service activity aimed to enhance the students’ skills in processing traditional Acehnese cakes, particularly kue gring. The training was conducted at Balai Pengajian Al Ikhlas in Lhokseumawe City. The PAR method was used to encourage active involvement of the students in all stages of the activity, including planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The results showed that 90% of the participants were able to follow the training process effectively and produce cakes that were suitable for consumption. Moreover, the training also sparked entrepreneurial interest and increased awareness of local culinary heritage among the students. This activity not only improved practical skills but also helped develop independent and productive character. Similar training programs are recommended for other religious study groups, with adjustments based on each region’s local potential.

Abstract

Micro, small, and medium enterprises (UMKM) play a vital role in driving local economic growth. However, many UMKM face limitations in marketing and business development, as seen in the case of the roasted coconut business owned by Mr. Ishak and Mrs. Nasriah in Gampong Paya Bujok Seuleumak, Langsa City. This business has been operating for six years, utilizing coconuts sourced from local residents to produce roasted coconut, with a daily production capacity of approximately 300 coconuts. The product is marketed based on customer orders to several regions, such as Peunaron, Peureulak, and Lokop, at a price of around IDR 35,000 per kilogram. This community engagement activity aimed to identify the potential and challenges faced by the roasted coconut MSME and to formulate strategies for broader marketing development. The method used was Participatory Action Research (PAR), in which students from the State Islamic Institute (IAIN) Langsa, while conducting community service (KKN), actively participated in the production process and engaged in participatory discussions with the business owners. The results showed that the roasted coconut business has significant potential to grow in terms of both product quality and market reach. However, limited marketing strategies and digital access remain key challenges. Therefore, continued assistance is recommended in areas such as packaging, branding, and the use of social media as a promotional tool. These efforts are expected to expand the market reach of roasted coconut products beyond the East Aceh region.

Abstract

Bullying is a long-standing problem among young people. Most bullying incidents involve school-aged children. Bullying often occurs at SDN 5 Meurah Mulia, Keeh Village. So that KPM group 40 students make socialization to strengthen the educational character of elementary school students. This stop bullying socialization activity was held to reduce and anticipate problems that often occur in minors. The objectives of this socialization include the following: 1). To build relationships and spread awareness about the need to stop bullying against children at SDN 5 Meurah Mulia; 2). To outline policies to stop and deal with bullying against elementary school students; 3. To teach school children in Keeh Village about the importance of social roles. The community service methods applied in the activity are observation, discussion and lecture or presentation. The result of this stop bullying socialization activity is that the personality or character education of children begins to form in a better direction and finds mutual respect and appreciation among friends. Bullying can be avoided by starting early to foster understanding among students. This will help inform and educate the children of SDN 5 Meurah Mulia on how to prevent bullying.

Abstract

Kegiatan Pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk membekali guru matematika MTs/ SMP yang ada di Aceh Timur terkait mendesain Math Trails Project untuk meningkatkan ketrampilan numerasi Guru Matematika. Penggunaan Math Trails Project dalam pembelajaran matematika memungkinkan peserta didik untuk mengeksplorasi sendiri konsep atau objek matematika. PKM ini telah dilaksanakan di salah satu sekolah Mitra MGMP Matematika Aceh Timur, yaitu MTsN 8 Aceh Timur dengan Sasarannya guru MGMP matematika Se Aceh Timur sebanyak 30 peserta. Adapun tahapan pelaksanaan PKM ini adalah tahap persiapan, tahap pelaksanaan, dan tahap evaluasi. Kegiatan workshop ini telah terlaksana dengan baik sesuai dengan rencana yang telah disepakati oleh tim PkM dan Mitra MGMP Matematika Se-MTsN Aceh Timur. PkM ini telah menghasilkan Out put, diantaranya peserta telah mendesain dan menghasilkan Math Trails Project karyanya sendiri. Rekomendasi kedepan kegiatan PkM ini adalah adanya tambahan waktu atau follow up untuk mendesain lembar kerja eksploratif pada materi lain.

Abstract

Bullying remains a critical issue in elementary schools, including at SDN 2 Peunaron, East Aceh Regency, as it significantly affects children’s social and emotional development. A safe, supportive, and conducive learning environment is essential to ensure students’ holistic growth. This community engagement program was designed to raise students’ awareness of the harmful effects of bullying while simultaneously fostering core character values such as empathy, responsibility, and mutual respect. The program applied an interactive socialization approach through lectures, group discussions, and educational games that encouraged active student participation. The outcomes indicate that students demonstrated an improved understanding of various forms of bullying, recognized their negative consequences, and showed positive behavioral changes in daily interactions. In addition, teachers gained deeper insights into effective strategies for preventing and addressing bullying within the classroom. These findings highlight that character education-based socialization is an effective preventive strategy to reduce bullying and strengthen character formation among elementary school students.
