Abstract

Islamic boarding schools (Islamic boarding schools) currently encounter significant challenges in remaining relevant amid the swift evolution of information technology, while at the same time upholding religious and moral values. One pressing issue is the need for increased transparency in managing information, especially as digital transformation becomes inevitable. This study examines the efforts of Pondok Buntet Islamic Boarding School Cirebon in embracing digital tools to enhance governance transparency. The primary objective is to analyze how Islamic boarding schools manage information openness in the context of modernization and to explore strategies adopted by Pondok Buntet Pesantren in navigating these changes. Employing a qualitative case study approach, data were gathered through in-depth interviews with pesantren administrators and direct field observations. Findings indicate that the pesantren has initiated steps toward an information openness framework, primarily focusing on transparency in religion and community-related activities. Nonetheless, limitations such as inadequate access to technology and the absence of standardized regulations continue to hinder broader implementation. The study concludes by recommending the development of more comprehensive and accessible information systems within Islamic boarding schools to strengthen institutional accountability and transparency in the digital era.

Abstract

The Buntari Ceramic Studio, founded in 2014 in Yogyakarta, was established with a strong sense of cultural responsibility to help safeguard the endangered Pagerjurang pottery tradition. This local heritage is recognized for its distinctive reddish-brown clay and the application of a unique slant-turning technique, which sets it apart from other pottery forms in Indonesia. In recent years, however, the tradition has been facing a serious decline due to the absence of younger generations willing to carry it forward. This research aims to explore the role of Buntari Ceramic Studio in maintaining the continuity and relevance of Pagerjurang pottery in contemporary cultural life. Using a qualitative descriptive method and triangulation of sources, the study finds that the studio actively promotes traditional techniques through educational workshops, collaborative exhibitions, and public engagement. These efforts not only revitalize interest in traditional crafts but also strengthen the identity of local cultural practices. The results offer meaningful insights for cultural sustainability and inspire further studies on heritage preservation.

Abstract

The efficient management of internet networks in public service environments is critical to supporting productivity and ensuring uninterrupted administrative operations. In Bumi Jaya Village, Pelaihari, Tanah Laut Regency, South Kalimantan, unrestricted use of Wi-Fi particularly for online gaming by local youth had disrupted office activities and compromised service quality. To address this issue, this study implemented the Queue Tree bandwidth management feature on Mikrotik devices, aimed at optimizing network performance and prioritizing essential services. The research was conducted through initial surveys and observations to assess usage patterns and existing infrastructure. A customized Queue Tree configuration was then applied to limit bandwidth for non-essential activities while preserving access. The results demonstrated a substantial improvement in bandwidth efficiency, with administrative and public service tasks receiving consistent and prioritized connectivity. Moreover, the initiative contributed to a more professional work atmosphere, reducing distractions, noise, and improper use of public facilities. Importantly, the program also involved capacity building for village office staff, equipping them with practical knowledge to monitor and manage the network sustainably. This approach not only resolved technical issues but also supported the development of digital governance competencies at the local level. The implementation of Queue Tree proved to be a strategic solution that enhances digital infrastructure, promotes responsible internet use, and fosters a more effective public service environment.

Abstract

This paper presents an initiative that fosters cross-cultural collaboration between Indonesia and Thailand to promote quality education aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 4. The program, implemented over four cycles, engaged 263 participants from 115 universities during its recent editions. It was carried out in cooperation with the Indonesian Embassy in Kuala Lumpur, PPI UPSI Malaysia, and several universities from both countries. The initiative emphasizes the practical application of science, technology, and innovation to address real-life challenges within international communities. A key aspect of this program involved on-site activities at Lukmanulhakeem School in Yala, Thailand, where students and faculty from Universitas PGRI Palembang and collaborating institutions worked directly with local communities. The outcomes highlight the value of such programs: students and lecturers enhance their leadership, communication, and teamwork skills; universities gain international exposure and institutional benefits; and local communities receive support through educational empowerment and problem-solving initiatives, especially for Indonesian migrant workers (PMI). This collaborative effort not only supports global education goals but also builds a foundation for ongoing international engagement that benefits higher education institutions, policymakers, and underserved communities alike. The program stands as a replicable model for sustainable, inclusive educational partnerships across borders.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to design an information system and empower the Nurul Ihsan Mosque Youth Association in Makassar through the use of information technology. So far, the management of activities, finances, and membership data has been done manually, which often causes delays, irregularities, and difficulties in accessing information. So to answer these challenges, the implementation team designed and implemented a web-based information system using the waterfall method approach, which includes needs analysis, design, implementation, testing, and maintenance. This system facilitates administrators in managing data in a structured and real-time manner, as well as opening up access to information for members and the wider community in a transparent manner. As part of the impact evaluation, a satisfaction test was conducted on 30 respondents, consisting of administrators and members of the mosque youth. The results of the statistical analysis showed that 90% of respondents stated that they were very satisfied with the ease of use of the application, the speed of accessing information, and the intuitive interface. The average value of the overall satisfaction level reached the maximum scale, indicating positive acceptance and effectiveness of the system in supporting organizational activities. The implementation of this system not only improves the efficiency of the administrators' work but also strengthens member participation and builds a more professional and adaptive organizational image to technological developments. This initiative proves that appropriate digital innovation can be a key driver in strengthening the role of religious organizations in modern society.
