Abstract

The communities in Biraeng and Bontokio villages, Minasate'ne subdistrict, Pangkep regency, have a rich culture that includes traditions, local knowledge, and wisdom in managing the environment, but most of it has not been systematically documented. This study aims to explore the cultural diversity of the communities in Biraeng and Bontokio villages, Minasate'ne sub-district, Pangkep regency, in support of the development of the Maros-Pangkep Geopark. The study uses a descriptive qualitative method with in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation of traditional leaders, cultural actors, and local communities. The results show that both villages have rich and adaptive cultural systems, including tangible cultural elements such as traditional houses, prehistoric cave sites, and traditional arts, as well as intangible cultural elements such as religious systems, language, traditional rituals, and local wisdom in environmental management. The community is also actively documenting their culture through art studios, cultural centers, and digital media as part of their efforts to preserve and promote community-based tourism. This cultural diversity contributes greatly to the sustainability of the Maros-Pangkep Geopark, not only as a tourist attraction but also as a means of education, conservation, and economic empowerment for the local community. This study emphasizes the importance of community participation in the management of culture-based geoparks as a strategy for preserving local identity and promoting sustainable development.

Abstract

Early marriage is a demographic issue. It remains a significant social problem in Indonesia, negatively impacting the health of adolescents, particularly girls. This study examines the impact of early marriage on the physical and reproductive health of adolescents, along with its impact on the health of their offspring. The research method employed involved a literature review of various research findings, official agency reports, and contemporary scientific publications related to the subject matter. The findings indicate that adolescent marriage increases the risk of pregnancy problems, including anemia, hypertension, hemorrhage, and maternal and neonatal mortality. This condition is exacerbated by a lack of physical readiness, inadequate reproductive health information, and socioeconomic conditions that encourage early marriage. Furthermore, the offspring of adolescent mothers face an increased risk of low birth weight and stunting caused by inadequate nutrition. The study's conclusions emphasize the importance of collaboration between families, communities, and the government in improving health education and child marriage prevention programs to improve the well-being and health status of adolescents in Indonesia.
