Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui: (1) tingkat kesiapan kerja, pengalaman praktik, prestasi belajar dasar kejuruan, dan dukungan orang tua, (2) adanya pengaruh pengalaman praktik, prestasi belajar dasar kejuruan, dukungan orang tua baik secara sendiri – sendiri maupun bersama - sama terhadap kesiapan kerja siswa SMK, (3) seberapa besar pengaruh pengalaman praktik, prestasi belajar dasar kejuruan, dukungan orang tua secara sendiri dan bersama - sama terhadap kesiapan kerja siswa SMK. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian survey dengan pendekatan ex post facto. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis deskriptif, analisis regresi linier sederhana dan analisis regresi ganda dengan bantuan software SPSS 16. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: (1) kesiapan kerja siswa tinggi (84%), pengalaman praktek tinggi (72%), prestasi belajar dasar kejuruan rendah (36%), dukungan orang tua sangat tinggi (54%), (2) terdapat pengaruh pengalaman praktik, prestasi belajar dasar kejuruan, dukungan orang tua secara sendiri maupun bersama – sama terhadap kesiapan kerja, dan (3) sumbangan efektif variabel pengalaman praktik, prestasi belajar dasar kejuruan, dan dukungan orang tua terhadap kesiapan kerja (R2 ) sebesar 39,6% dan sumbangan efektif masing – masing variabel yaitu pengalaman praktik 23,1%, prestasi belajar dasar kejuruan 6,4%, dan dukungan orang tua 9,6%. THE INFLUENCE OF PRACTICAL EXPERIENCE, BASIC VOCATIONAL LEARNING ACHIEVEMENT AND PARENT’S SUPPORT ASPECTS TOWARDS WORK READINESS OF THE STUDENTS IN VOCATIONAL HIGH SCHOOLSAbstractThe purpose of this study is designed to reveal: (1) the level of work readiness, practical experience, basic vocational achievement,and parent’s support (2)there is an influence of practical experience, basic vocational achievement towards, parent’s support jointly and severally towards work readiness (3) how much an influence of practical experience, basic vocational achievement towards, parent’ s support jointly and severally towards work readiness. This was a survey research with ex post facto approach study. The data were analyzed using the descriptive analysis technique, simple liner regression analysis and multiple regression analysis with the help of software SPSS 16.00. The result showed: (1) the work readiness was high (84%), practical experience was high (54%), learning achievement in basic vocational was low (36%), parent’s support was very high (54%) (2) there is an influence of practical experience, basic vocational achievement towards, parent’ s support jointly and severally towards work readiness (3) the effect of practical experience, basic vocational achievement towards, parent’ s support jointly and severally towards work readiness (R2 ) 39,6% and the effect of each predictor was 23,1% practical experience, 6,4% basic vocational achievement towards, and 9,6% of parent’ s support.

Abstract

The objective of the research was to: (1) find the level of integrated learning effectiveness between the entrepreneurship subjects and the stone and concrete practical subject from the perspective of the teachers and the students; (2) to find the level of integrated learning implementation between the entrepreneurship subject and the stone and concrete practical subject; (3) to find the level of teacher and student activities within the integrated learning between the entrepreneurship subject and the stone and concrete practical subject; and (4) to find the level of student readiness within the integrated learning between the entrepreneurship subject and the stone and concrete practical subject. The researchers implemented the Research and Development approach with an orientation toward the product development. The research period in the form of learning implementation within the classroom was from January to February 2013. The research site was in 2 Pengasih State Vocational High School Kulonprogo. The research subjects were the students of XI Grade Stone and Concrete Construction Engineering, 2 Pengasih State Vocational High School, Kulonprogo. The research procedures were divided into two stages namely: (1) pre-integrated learning implementation; and (2) integrated learning implementation. The research data included: (1) the effectiveness of integrated learning from the perspective of the teachers and the students; (2) the implementation of integrated learning; (3) the level of activeness that the teachers and the students exposed; and (4) the readiness of the students for performing entrepreneurship based on the achievement of learning competences in the domain of knowledge, attitude and skill. The data analysis was performed in a descriptive-qualitative manner by providing logical narratives  according to the research objectives. The results of the research were as follows: (1) the implementation of integrated learning, from the perspective of both the teachers and the students, had been in the category of effective to very effective; (2) the implementation of integrated learning had been in the category of good to very good; (3) the teachers and the students had been in the category of active to very active; and (4) the students had been in the category of ready for performing the entrepreneurship with the achievement of learning scores for more than the already determined passing grade.

Abstract

Vocational education has a very strategic role. Graduates produced are equipped with the competence to open new job opportunities or at least ready to enter the workforce. Therefore, vocational education development, such as training facilities, teacher development, and learning process improvement, must be intensified. This study tries to develop an example-based learning model for vocational education adopted from the learning model on cultural activities that surround Balinese people's daily life. A three-stage prototyping method was used: preliminary research, prototyping stage, and assessment stage. The syntax of example-based learning models consists of six phases: (1) conveying goals and motivating students, (2) organizing students into study groups and distributing worksheets, (3) guiding learning groups to do analogies, (4) drawing conclusions, (5) doing evaluation, and (6) giving awards. The social system that occurs is active students collaborate under the principle of democracy, while the teacher's role as a facilitator, counselor or consultant, and an adequate source of information becomes a support system. The learning model developed has been tested in small classes. The expert assessment provides content validity of 0.75 and the consistency coefficient of 0.78. The model's practicality from the teacher reaches 82% and 73% of students. During the trial, the new learning model's effectiveness reached 74%, while the efficiency was only 72%. These findings indicate that the learning model is feasible to be implemented with several recommendations, including the addition of a heuristic approach to work backward and create a hierarchy of similarity levels of examples and tasks in analogy.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peran komite sekolah dalam penyelenggaraan pendidikan SMK negeri dan SMK swasta di Kabupaten Lamongan sebagai badan pertimbangan, badan pendukung, badan pengontrol, dan badan penghubung.Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian evaluasi. Populasi sebanyak 61 SMK (enam SMK negeri dan 55 SMK swasta). Sampel sebanyak 42 SMK (empat SMK negeri dan 38 SMK swasta) ditentukan dengan teknik proportional random sampling. Pengumpulan data menggunakan kuesioner dengan skala Likert. Analisis data menggunakan teknik analisis deskriptif kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian ini adalah sebagai berikut. (1) Peran komite sekolah dalam penyelenggaraan pendidikan SMK negeri secara keseluruhan termasuk dalam kategori baik. Peran yang paling tinggi adalah sebagai badan pertimbangan, kemudian sebagai badan pendukung, dan sebagai badan penghubung, sedangkan peran yang paling rendah adalah sebagai badan pengontrol. (2) Peran komite sekolah dalam penyelenggaraan pendidikan SMK swasta secara keseluruhan termasuk dalam kategori baik. Peran yang paling tinggi adalah sebagai badan pendukung, kemudian sebagai badan penghubung, dan sebagai badan pertimbangan, sedangkan peran yang paling rendah adalah sebagai badan pengontrol. THE ROLESOF THE SCHOOL COMMITTEE IN THE IMPLEMENTATION OF VOCATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL IN LAMONGAN REGENCY, EAST JAVAAbstractThis study is aimedat investigating the roles of the school committee in the implementation of state vocational high schools (VHS) and private VHSs in Lamongan Regency, as anadvisory agency, supporting agency, controlling agency, and mediator agency.This study isanevaluation. The population was 61 VHSs (six state VHSs and 55 private VHSs). A sample of 42 VHSs (four state VHSs and 48 private VHSs) was established using the proportional random sampling technique. The data collection used a questionnaire with Likert scale. The data analysis used the quantitative descriptive analysis.The results show as follows. (1) The overall role of the school committee in the implementation of state VHSs is in a good category. The highest is the role as the advisory agency, then the role as the supporting agency, and the role as the mediator agency, while the lowest is the role as the controlling agency. (2) The overall role of the school committee in the implementation of private VHSs is in a good category. The highest is the role as the supporting agency, then the role as the mediator agency, and the role as the advisory agency, while the lowest is the role as the controlling agency.

Abstract

This research aimed to describe the development of public relations and protocol office administration teaching material based on the 2013 curriculum in Vocational School (thereafter called SMK). This study was a Research Development (R D) using Borg Gall’s model. This research involved Public Vocational School with Office Administration Specialty in Ex-Surakarta Residency area. Technique of collecting data used was interview with informants related to Office Administration teaching material. Meanwhile for the trial, technique of collecting data used was questionnaire survey distributed to teachers and students. The effectiveness of data collection was tested using test. Technique of analyzing data used was mix method, the combination of qualitative and quantitative methods. The result of analysis using 2-way anava obtained Fstatistic­ value of 0.829 in Vocational School with probability (sig.) value of 0.438.  F test results are seen in the anova table in the sig column. Experiment group had an improvement of learning outcome better than the control one with the mean increase of 4.5 while control group had mean score of 2.3. Thus, it could be concluded that public relations and protocol teaching material based on the 2013 curriculum was feasible to use in Vocational School (SMK).

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui: (1) gambaran tentang dosen, mahasiswa, dan fasilitas laboratorium komputer di STKIP PGRI Pontianak; (2) pengaruh motivasi mengajar dosen terhadap hasil belajar pemrograman komputer mahasiswa; (3) pengaruh kreativitas dosen terhadap hasil belajar pemrograman komputer mahasiswa; (4) pengaruh kompetensi dosen terhadap hasil belajar pemrograman komputer mahasiswa; (5) pengaruh fasilitas laboratorium komputer terhadap hasil belajar pemrograman komputer mahasiswa; (6) pengaruh motivasi mengajar dosen, kreativitas dosen, kompetensi dosen, dan fasilitas laboratorium komputer terhadap hasil belajar pemrograman komputer mahasiswa secara bersama-sama. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa: (1) motivasi mengajar dosen, kreativitas dosen, kompetensi dosen, dan fasilitas laboratorium komputer termasuk dalam kategori baik; (2) motivasi mengajar dosen berpengaruh terhadap hasil belajar pemrograman komputer mahasiswa dengan nilai p=0,000 dan r2 =0,136; (3) kreativitas dosen berpengaruh terhadap hasil belajar pemrograman komputer mahasiswa dengan nilai p=0,000 dan r2=0,343; (4) kompetensi dosen berpengaruh terhadap hasil belajar pemrograman komputer mahasiswa dengan nilai p=0,000 dan r2 =0,258; (5) fasilitas laboratorium komputer berpengaruh terhadap hasil belajar pemrograman komputer mahasiswa dengan nilai p=0,000 dan r2=0,179; dan (6) motivasi mengajardosen, kreativitas dosen, kompetensi dosen, dan fasilitas laboratorium komputer secara bersamasama berpengaruh terhadap hasil belajar pemrograman komputer mahasiswa dengan nilai p=0,000 dan R2=0,564.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi intensi berwirausaha siswa SMK Program Studi Keahlian Teknik Otomotif di Kabupaten Tabalong- Kalimantan Selatan. Populasi penelitian ini sebanyak 162 siswadan sampel sebanyak 114 siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan kuesioner dan wawancara. Analisis data menggunakan teknik regresi linier berganda. Hasil analisis menemukan bahwa intensi berwirausaha siswa SMK Program Studi Keahlian Teknik Otomotif di Kabupaten Tabalong- Kalimantan Selatan tergolong pada kateori sedang. Uji hipotesis menemukan bahwa variabel kebutuhan akan berprestasi berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap intensi berwirausaha sebesar 0,299 (sig.0,003). Begitu pula kreatifitas sebesar 0,384 (sig.0,000); kemandirian sebesar 0,292 (sig. 0.006); keberanian mengambil risiko sebesar 0,380 (sig.0,012); toleransi keambiguan sebesar 0,491 (sig. 0,011); pengaruh orang tua sebesar 0,242 (sig.0,049) dan self efficacy sebesar 0,493 (sig.0,000) berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap intensi berwirausaha. Pada uji F menemukan variabel kebutuhan akan berprestasi, kreatifitas, kemandirian, keberanian mengambil risiko, toleransi keambiguan, pengaruh orang tua dan self efficacy secara simultan berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap intensi berwirausaha dengan nilai 34,415 dan sig.0,000. Adjusted R2 sebesar 0,674 menunjukkan bahwa variabel independent secara bersama-sama memberikan sumbangan efektif sebesar 67,4% terhadap intensi berwirausaha siswa SMK Program Studi Keahlian Teknik Otomotif di Kabupaten Tabalong-Kalimantan Selatan, sisanya sebesar 32,6% dijelaskan oleh faktor-faktor lain selain faktorfaktor yang dibahas dalam penelitian ini. FACTORS AFFECTING ENTREPRENEURIAL INTENTION OF ENGINEERING VOCATIONAL SCHOOL STUDENTSAbstractThe objective of this research is to identify factors which affect Entrepreneurial Intention of Engineering Vocational School in Tabalong, South Kalimantan.The population of this research is 162 students. A technique called proportional random sampling is used. From this technique, about 114 students are concluded. Also, the method of collecting data is using the questionnaire and interview, whereas dual linear regression technique is used as data analysis.Based on the data analysis, the entrepreneurial intention of Engineering Vocational School Students in Tabalong, South Kalimantan can be categorized in medium level. The variable found in earlier hyphoteses leads to a result that the Entrepreneurial Intention is positively affected significant by need for achievement (n Ach) for 0.299 (sig. 0.003); creativity 0.384 (sig. 0.000); independence 0.292 (sig. 0.003); risk tolerance 0.380 (sig. 0.012); ambiguity tolerance 0.491 (sig. 0.011); parental influence 0.242 (sig. 0.049) and self efficacy 0.493 (sig. 0,000). An F-Test is formulated and thus, can be concluded that the variable of need for achievement, creativity, independence, risk tolerance, ambiguity tolerance, parental influence are positively and significantly related to entrepreneurial intention with a value of 34.415 and sig. 0.000. Adjusted R 2 of 0.674 indicates that independent variable stimulateunously affects 67.4% on the entrepreneurial intention of Engineering Vocational School students in Tabalong, South Kalimantan. The rest 32.6% is explained by the other factors to this research.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkapkan: (1) motivasi belajar siswa pada kelas eksperimen, (2) motivasi belajar siswa pada kelas kontrol, (3) tingkat pencapaian kompetensi pada kelas eksperimen, (4) tingkat pencapaian kompetensi pada kelas control, (5) pendapat siswa tentang penggunaan model DI berbantuan multimedia, (6) pengaruh model DI berbantuan multimedia terhadap motivasi belajar siswa, dan (7) pengaruh model DI berbantuan multimedia terhadap pencapaian kompetensi pembuatan desain busana. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian quasi experimental designs. Populasi penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X program keahlian tata busana SMK N 9 Surakarta dan SMK N 1 karanganyar, teknik sampling purposive. Data diperoleh dengan: (1) tes tertulis, (2) tes perbuatan, dan (3) angket, untuk mengumpulkan data motivasi belajar siswa, aspek afektif, dan pendapat siswa tentang penggunaan model DI berbantuan multimedia. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) motivai belajar kelas eksperimen masuk kriteria sangat tinggi 71%; (2) motivai belajar kelas kontrol masuk kriteria sangat tinggi 28% ; (3) pencapaian kompetensi kelas eksperimen kategori tuntas 84%; (4) pencapaian kompetensi kelas kontrol kategori tuntas sebanyak 33%; (5) pendapat peserta didik tentang penerapan model DI menunjukkan bahwa 27 siswa (87%) pada kategori sangat senang; (6) terdapat pengaruh penerapan model DI terhadap motivasi belajar antara kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol, dibuktikan dengan hasil perhitungan uji t (t-test) dengan t hitung 0,000 t tabel 0,05; (7) terdapat pengaruh penerapan model DI terhadap pencapaian kompetensi pembuatan desain busana antara kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol, yang dibuktikan dengan hasil perhitungan uji t (t-test) dengan t hitung 0,000 t tabel 0,05.  THE EFFECT OF MULTIMEDIA–AIDED DIRECT INSTRUCTION ON THE LEARNING MOTIVATION FOR ACHIEVEMENT IN THE COMPETENCE IN MAKING FASHION DESIGNAbstractThis study aims to investigate (1) learning motivation of student in experiment class; (2) learning motivation of student in control class; (3) the level of achievement in the competence of experiment class; (4) the level of achievement in the competence of control class; (5) the student’s opinion about the use of multimedia-aided direct Instruction (MADI) in the manufacture of fashion design in vocational high schools (VHS); (6) the effect of MADI on the learning motivation of students; and (7) the effect MADI on the achievement in the competence of making fashion design. The study was a quasi experimenal. The population of research was the 10th graders of dressmaking skill program of SMK N 9 Surakarta and SMK N 1 Karanganyar. The research sample was established using the porpusive sample technique. The reseach instruments included: (1) a test; (2) observation sheet; (2) a questionnaire to collect the data on students’ learning motivation, affective aspect, and the opinion of students on the application of MADI. The result of the study show that: (1) the learning motivation 71% in the experimental class is very high; (2) the learning motivation 28% in the control class is very high; (3) the competence achievement of 84% in the experimental class is in the completion category; (4) ) the competence achievement of 33 % in the control class is in the completion category; (5) the opinion of students on the application of MADI shows that 27 students (87%) are very happy; (6) there is an effect of the application of MADI on motivation to learn the making of fashion design of the students in the experimental and control classes, as shown by the results of the calculation of the t test ( t-test ) with 0.000 t t table 0.05 and this it can be concluded that the Ho is rejected and is accepted; (7) there is an effect of the application MADI on the achievement of competence in making fashion design of the students in the experimental and control classes, as shown by the results of the calculation of the t test (t – test) with 0.000 t t table 0.05 , and this it can be concluded that the Ho is rejected and is accepted;

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh gambaran kekuatan dan kelemahan 9 soft skills mahasiswa PTB. Penelitian diskriptif ini dilaksanakan di Program Studi PTB dengan menggunakan kuesioner respon. Sampel penelitian adalah semua mahasiswa semester 6. Data dianalisis secara diskriptif kuantitatif. Hasil Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kekuatan soft skills mahasiswa PTB secara berturut adalah: kemampuan untuk selalu belajar (72,89%), tanggung jawab (70,77%), kerja sama dalam tim (68,61%), komitmen (67,96%), kreativitas (67,25%), disiplin (64,79%), usaha keras mencapai sukses (62,68%), pemecahan masalah (55,87%), komunikasi (49,90%). Keadaan kelemahan soft skills secara berturut: komunikasi (50,10%), pemecahan masalah (44, 13%), usaha keras mencapai sukses (37,32%), disiplin (35,21%), kreativitas (32,75%), komitmen (32,04%), kerjasama dalam tim (31,39%), tanggung jawab (29,23%), kemampuan untuk selalu belajar (27,11%). Dapat dinyatakan bahwa keadaan profil soft skills tersebut merupakan hasil pengasuhan soft skills melalui pola pembelajaran model terpisah, terintegarsi dan komplementatif. SOFT SKILLS PROFILE OF PTB STUDENT FACULTY OF ENGINEERING, UNIVERSITY OF STATE YOGYAKARTAAbstractThis study aimed to obtain a picture of the strengths and weaknesses of nine soft skills in students PTB. This descriptive study carried out at PTB Program using a questionnaire response. The research sample is all students semester 6. Data was analyzed by descriptive quantitative. Research results indicate that the strength of soft skills PTB students respectively are: ability to always learn (72.89%), responsibility (70.77%), work together in teams (68.61%), commitment (67.96%), creativity (67.25%), discipline (64 , 79%), efforts to achieve success (62.68%), problem solving (55.87%), communication (49.90%). The state of weakness successive soft skills: communication (50.10%), problem solving (44, 13%), efforts to achieve success (37.32%), discipline (35.21%), creativity (32.75%), commitment (32.04% ), cooperation in teams (31.39%), responsibility (29.23%), the ability to constantly learn (27.11%). It can be stated that the description of the profile soft skills, is, the nurturing soft skills through learning patterns, with a separate model, integration, and komplementatif.
