Abstract

The aim of this research is to determine the role of madrasah in Nunukan Regency in efforts to internalize Islam with a national perspective to enforce religious moderation for their students. This research uses samples from several madrasah in Nunukan Regency, where the madrasah used as samples are considered to have applied national values that are oriented towards a moderate attitude. The research method used is a descriptive qualitative approach. Data collection uses direct observation, interviews and documentation. The results of this research are: First, the methods or methods used by madrasas are varied in applying Islam with a national perspective which reinforces an attitude of religious moderation; MA Al-Anshari Nunukan, which is a school under the auspices of the Islamic Boarding School Foundation, has from the start instilled the attitude of hubb al-wathan min al-īman (loving the homeland is part of faith) in its students, so that religion and love of the nation and state are one unit. , while at MA YIIPS Sebatik Timur the teachers not only teach religious values to students, but they also actively involve students in national holiday activities to commemorate the services of the nation's predecessors, so that students are born who have a spirit of nationalism. Learning related to nationality, such as Civics, is also used to instill Islamic values with a national perspective in students as is done at MI Roudhatut Tarbiyah Nunukan. Second, the urgency of national insight in madrasas is that: it can be an effective tool in preventing radicalism, strengthening national identity, and can foster an active attitude towards mutual tolerance.

Abstract

This study analyzed  the optimization of cash waqf in improving the quality of higher education, using Universitas Islam Indonesia (UII) as a case study from the perspective of Islamic Economic Law. This study employed a qualitative normative-empirical approach with analysis of the 2024 Financial Report of the UII Waqf Board Foundation and a comparative study with Bogor Agricultural Institute (IPB), this research identified cash waqf management strategies and their implications for social goals. The reserach findings indicated that cash waqf management at UII reflected a structured management system oriented toward the sustainability of funds. These practices have successfully maintained the sustainability of the principal funds (hifz al-mal), yet have resulted in a limited proportion of benefit distribution. A comparison with IPB revealed a strategic difference in balancing the goals of sustainability and social impact, with IPB demonstrating more diverse program innovation and impact-oriented reporting. This study contributed by presenting a comparative analysis model for the implementation of cash waqf, providing insights into the strategic balance between investment and distribution to optimize the achievement of maqāṣid al-sharī‘ah and SDG-4. The application of these findings can serve as a reference for higher education waqf institutions in formulating more innovative and impact-oriented management strategies.

Abstract

Islamic financing has become a critical mechanism for strengthening halal micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), particularly within the expanding Islamic economic landscape. However, prior studies tend to examine Islamic financing, halal MSMEs, and institutional collaboration separately, leaving a gap in understanding their integrated role within a unified ecosystem. This study addresses this gap by analyzing the role of Islamic financing in supporting halal MSMEs through the Triple Helix framework, which highlights the interaction among government, industry, and academia. Employing a qualitative systematic literature review, this study synthesizes evidence from peer-reviewed research on Islamic finance, halal industry development, and collaborative governance. The findings demonstrate that Islamic financing contributes to MSME performance not only through improved access to ethical financial resources but also through the synergy of regulatory support, financial innovation, and knowledge development. Government ensures regulatory clarity and infrastructure, Islamic financial institutions provide sharia-compliant and digital financing solutions, while academia enhances financial literacy and innovation capacity. This study argues that the effectiveness of Islamic financing is contingent upon the integration of these institutional roles within a cohesive ecosystem. The contribution of this research lies in offering an integrative conceptual framework that links Islamic financing with the Triple Helix model, providing strategic insights for strengthening sustainable halal MSME development and advancing inclusive Islamic economic systems.

Abstract

This study evaluated Indonesia's Sovereign Green Sukuk through Ahmad Al-Raisuni's tripartite Maqāṣid al-Sharī'ah framework, examining whether the instrument achieved substantive environmental objectives or merely fulfilled administrative compliance. Employing normative-juridical documentary analysis, the research examined three primary source categories: POJK No. 18/2023 governing issuance requirements; Al-Raisuni's foundational Arabic texts; and the Ministry of Finance's Green Sukuk Allocation and Impact Reports (2018–2022). Content analysis with deductive reasoning was applied to assess operational effectiveness, governance architecture, and reporting mechanisms relevant to greenwashing mitigation. The findings indicated that Indonesia's framework exhibited stronger impact-measurement alignment than market-centric models, as evidenced by a government-reported cumulative emission reduction of 10.6 million tonnes of CO₂ across 2018–2022, through infrastructure projects in remote 3T regions including flood control systems and solar PV installations at disaster monitoring posts. The study contributed a hierarchical audit framework that operationalised Al-Raisuni's Partial, Special, and General Maqāṣid Objectives as evaluative checkpoints for assessing use-of-proceeds governance and greenwashing resilience.

Abstract

Digital media, particularly dialogic podcasts on YouTube, have emerged as new spaces for the dissemination and interpretation of the Prophet’s hadith. This article examined the phenomenon of living hadith in religious podcasts on the Gita Wirjawan YouTube channel, featuring dialogues with Habib Husein Ja’far Al Hadar and Muhammad Quraish Shihab. The study aimed to analyze the reception of hadith by the speakers in the form of oral discourse and audio-visual representation, focusing on hadith concerning intention as well as the teachings of Islam, īmān, and iḥsān. This research employed a descriptive-analytical approach through content analysis, using the reception theory framework developed by Saifuddin Zuhri Qudsy and Subkhana Kusuma Dewi. The findings revealedl that exegetical reception was reflected in contextual interpretations linking relate the Prophetic tradition to contemporary ethical, philosophical, and social issues. Meanwhile, aesthetic reception appears through visual elements such as natural landscapes, spatial design, bookshelves, and symbolic representations of ulama, which fostered emotional engagement while reinforcing religious authority. These findings suggested that digital podcasts function not only as a medium of da‘wah but also as a dynamic arena for the construction of hadith meaning. Academically, this study contributes to the development of living hadith studies by positioning digital media as a significant locus in the transformation of religious authority and reception in the contemporary era.
