Journal of Information Systems and Business Technology (JISBT) adalah jurnal ilmiah yang didedikasikan khusus untuk pengembangan keilmuan di bidang Sistem Informasi. Jurnal ini menjadi wadah untuk penyebaran hasil penelitian, inovasi teknologi, serta pemikiran kritis yang berfokus pada penerapan dan pengembangan sistem informasi dalam berbagai konteks bisnis dan organisasi. Jurnal ini bertujuan untuk menjadi referensi utama bagi akademisi, peneliti, dan praktisi yang bergerak di bidang Sistem Informasi, serta menjadi sarana kontribusi terhadap peningkatan literasi teknologi dan manajemen informasi di era digital. Abstract

This study evaluates the quality of the Palembang City MSME Cooperative Office website using the WebQual 4.0 method, which encompasses three main dimensions: usability, information quality, and service interaction quality. Data were collected through an online survey of 50 respondents, consisting of MSME actors and members of the public who had accessed the website in the last three months. The findings indicate that the usability aspect of the website is generally well perceived, particularly in terms of ease of navigation, clarity of layout, and accessibility across various devices. The service interaction dimension was also rated positively, with users acknowledging that the available online service features are functional and sufficiently helpful. However, the information quality dimension still requires considerable improvement, as several respondents noted issues related to outdated content, insufficient detail, and inaccuracies in the information presented. These shortcomings reduce the website’s effectiveness as a reliable source of official information. Based on these results, the study recommends increasing the frequency of content updates, enhancing the relevance and accuracy of information, and improving digital service features to better support user needs and ensure the website functions optimally as a public service platform.

Abstract

This study analyzes a website Point of Sale (POS) information system as a key solution to improve transaction efficiency and inventory management accuracy. We implemented the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) Prototype Method, an approach that enables rapid and iterative development of a working system model. The goal was to validate and refine crucial features, such as the checkout process, CRUD product data, and pricing calculations, by engaging intensive user feedback from the outset. The system analysis results showed that the Prototype model successfully accelerated adaptation to functional requirements and maintained transaction data integrity. Validation of system functionality through Black Box Testing confirmed that all developed features worked accurately, proving that the SDLC Prototype is an effective framework for implementing a simple POS system.

Abstract

At Pamulang University, student attendance is recorded through two mechanisms: the online My Unpam platform and traditional paper-based sheets. In practice, the offline method is still more commonly used due to unstable campus network connectivity, resulting in delays of 10–15 minutes at the beginning of each class. This study examines how the use of indexing and query optimization in MySQL can enhance the performance of a web-based attendance system, allowing the online method to operate more efficiently and reliably. The research framework includes a situational analysis involving lecturers and Information Systems students, followed by simulated testing using 30 dummy student records. Optimization techniques such as creating indexes on NIM and date fields and evaluating queries with EXPLAIN are applied within a PHP-based prototype. The outcomes include an improved PHP-MySQL attendance prototype and instructor guidelines to support system adoption. This work aims to reduce dependence on manual attendance practices and strengthen digital transformation initiatives in higher education by improving database responsiveness and overall system performance.

Abstract

This study aims to assess the quality of Employee Attendance System software by referring to the ISO/IEC 29119 software testing standard. This application was created using Laravel and Vue.js to manage employee attendance, leave, and permissions. One of the main problems that often arise in the attendance system is failure in input data validation, potential security vulnerabilities, and logical errors in the check-in/check-out process that can seriously impact the reliability of employee data. In this study, an organized testing methodology is used that includes test planning, test scenario development, and test execution in accordance with ISO/IEC 29119-2 clauses with a risk-based method. The testing methods applied are Black Box Testing using Equivalence Partitioning techniques to verify the functionality between input and output, and White Box Testing with Cyclomatic Complexity analysis to assess the efficiency of the code's logical structure. The testing process was carried out by compiling 25 comprehensive test scenarios covering positive and negative conditions. The test results successfully found 10 software bugs with varying levels of severity, including critical issues such as weak validation of GPS location input and Cross-Site Scripting vulnerabilities. In conclusion, the implementation of the ISO/IEC 29119 standard has proven to be able to systematically organize the quality assurance process, detect security vulnerabilities early on, and provide important technical improvement recommendations before the system is operational to ensure system reliability.

Abstract

User interface (UI) design are vital elements in the mobile application development process to ensure user comfort,  ease of use, and satisfaction. Various approaches to UI design have been tested in various mobile application research  and development projects, but there has been no comprehensive analysis of the effectiveness and trends in the  application of these methods. This study aims to evaluate various UI design methods applied in mobile application  development through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach. The SLR process was carried out by following  the steps of identifying, selecting, and analyzing scientific publications published within a certain time frame. The  results of this study reveal that the most commonly used methods are User Centered Design (UCD) and Design  Thinking. Each method has advantages and limitations related to the effectiveness of the design process, the level of  user participation, and its impact on the quality of the user experience. In addition, there has been an observed trend  of increasing use of collaborative and iterative methods in recent years. These findings can be used as a guide for  researchers and mobile application developers in choosing the UI approach that best suits the needs of their project.

Abstract

Software testing is a vital step in the information system development process, ensuring that the developed system has adequate quality, reliability, and security before being used in a real environment. Inventory information systems are one of the most important systems because they are directly related to the management of inventory data and business activities. The purpose of this study is to apply the ISO/IEC 29119 standard in testing the php-inventory-management-system application originating from the GitHub repository. Testing was carried out in a structured manner through the steps of test planning, test design, test execution, defect recording, and evaluation in accordance with the ISO/IEC 29119 guidelines. The testing methods used were black-box testing and static code analysis of the application's main modules. A total of 25 test cases were tested, with the results where 10 test cases were successful and 15 test cases failed. In addition, 10 defects were identified, which included defects related to security, input validation, and business logic, including critical defects that could pose security risks and inventory data inconsistencies. The evaluation results indicate that this application does not meet the software quality characteristics of ISO/IEC 25010, particularly in terms of security, reliability, and functional suitability. Therefore, the application is considered not yet ready for operational use and requires further improvement.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the user experience of the MyBCA application obtained through the User Experience Questionnaire Plus and relate it to user behavior towards the use of digital banking services. This data was collected by distributing UEQ+ by creating a questionnaire and then sending it to active MyBCA users, which measures several aspects, such as usability, informativeness, efficiency, attractiveness, and trust, of the application used. The results of data processing show that most respondents gave high ratings, especially to the aspects of efficiency and trust, which help them feel relieved and simplify the digital transaction process. This study shows that there is a strong relationship between the quality of user experience and user behavior, and a positive user experience encourages the frequency of use and user attitudes. Overall, this study emphasizes that improving user experience can be an important strategy for developers in strengthening the adoption of digital banking services.

Abstract

This study aims to ensure the software quality of the web-based information system application, namely the Kredit Aktivitas Kemahasiswaan (KAK) Calculator of Pamulang University. The quality of this application is crucial as it directly relates to the non-academic graduation requirements for students. The methodology employed is structured Quality Assurance (QA), adopting the international standard testing framework ISO/IEC 29119 and referencing the quality characteristics of ISO/IEC 25010 (specifically Functional Suitability, Reliability, and Usability). Testing was performed using Blackbox Testing and Whitebox Testing techniques by designing and executing 25 comprehensive Test Cases. The test results showed that all 25 Test Cases were Passed (100% success rate), which validates the accuracy of the KAK point calculation , the reliability of the history management, and the interface responsiveness. With Zero Defects found in core functionality, the KAK Calculator application is declared compliant with the established quality standards and is accepted for use.

Abstract

MSMEs are a crucial sector for maintaining economic growth, but they still face challenges in online marketing and inefficient transaction data management. Previous research has shown that e-commerce can increase MSME revenue and competitiveness, but system performance is often hampered by suboptimal database design. This research aims to create a web-based e-commerce system by applying database optimization techniques to make transaction processes and data management more efficient. The Waterfall method was used in developing this system, encompassing requirements analysis, design, implementation, and testing. The database optimization process was carried out by creating indexing, improving query structures, and normalizing tables based on previous research on database optimization in MySQL and other DBMSs. Test results showed that the implementation of indexing and query optimization significantly reduced execution time for product searches and transactions compared to the initial design. The successfully created e-commerce system was able to support MSME sales processes more quickly, structured, and efficiently. Thus, this research contributes to the implementation of a system that not only focuses on e-commerce functions but also improves database performance as a crucial part of MSME digital transformation.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengujian fungsional pada aplikasi CRUD Data Mahasiswa berbasis PHP dan MySQL menggunakan metode Black Box Testing dengan mengacu pada standar ISO/IEC 29119:2022. Pengujian dilakukan melalui tahapan analisis kebutuhan, perencanaan pengujian, penyusunan test case, pelaksanaan pengujian, dan pelaporan hasil pengujian terhadap sembilan fitur utama aplikasi, yaitu login, tampilan halaman utama, penambahan data mahasiswa, ekspor data ke format Excel, penampilan detail data mahasiswa, pengubahan data mahasiswa, penghapusan data mahasiswa, halaman informasi (About), dan logout. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa dari sembilan test case yang diuji, delapan test case dinyatakan berhasil dan satu test case dinyatakan gagal pada fitur halaman About yang tidak menampilkan informasi sebagaimana yang diharapkan, sehingga tingkat keberhasilan pengujian mencapai 88,9%. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa aplikasi telah memenuhi kebutuhan fungsional dasar, namun masih memerlukan perbaikan pada fitur yang belum berjalan optimal untuk meningkatkan kualitas aplikasi.
