Beginning from Vol. 1 No. 1 (2017), all articles will be published in the English version and Indonesia version. The publication frequency is twice a year in March and October. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningktakan hasil belajar siswa pada pembelajaran IPAS materi gerak tubuh hewan dan manusia melalui metode role playing di kelas V SDN 42/IV Kota Jambi. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu tindakan kelas (Classroom Action Research) dengan subjek adalah siswa kelas V yang berjumlah 15 orang di SDN 42/IV Kota Jambi. Penelitian dilakukan untuk menemukan solusi atas permasalahan pembelajaran yang muncul di kelas. Ada empat langkah yang terlibat dalam penggunaan metode ini: perencanaan, pelaksanaan, pengamatan, dan refleksi tindakan. Keempat tahapan ini merupakan siklus yang berulang, menggunakan prosedur yang sama dan dengan tujuan mengajar melalui permainan peran. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan peningkatan hasil belajar IPAS pada materi gerak tubuh hewan dan manusia. Peningkatan hasil persentase nilai dari pra siklus 56,5% meningkat di siklus I menjadi 69,5%, kemudian meningkat di siklus II menjadi 83,5% yang masuk kategori baik dan mencapai ketuntasan

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of Teacher Learning Communities (TLC) in enhancing pedagogical competence and teacher professionalism in secondary schools in Labuhanbatu Regency, North Sumatra. The research employs a descriptive qualitative approach, using data collection methods such as in-depth interviews, direct observation, and document analysis. The findings reveal that TLCs play a significant role in assisting teachers in developing creative teaching strategies, improving classroom management skills, and expanding educational technology literacy. Additionally, TLCs encourage the development of teacher professionalism by increasing engagement in training and ongoing professional activities. Despite challenges such as time constraints and varying participation levels, structural support from schools, particularly in time management and motivation, is crucial to ensuring the sustainability and effectiveness of TLCs. This study concludes that TLCs hold great potential as a sustainable teacher professional development model, positively impacting the future quality of education.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the correlation between parental education level and learning motivation with thematic learning outcomes of class VI students at SD Negeri 1 Panji Lor. This research uses quantitative analysis methods. The subjects of this research involved 38 class VI students at SD Negeri 1 Panji Lor. The normality and homogeneity tests were carried out to produce a good sample. Data collection instruments include questionnaires and written tests. Before use, the instrument is tested for validity and reliability to ensure that the instrument can be used appropriately. Hypothesis testing using simple correlation. The research results report that (1) there is a positive correlation between the level of education and learning outcomes, (2) there is a positive correlation between the level of education and learning outcomes, (3) there is a joint positive correlation between the level of education and motivation towards learning outcomes.

Abstract

Inovasi teknologi dalam pendidikan, seperti penggunaan model flipped classroom dan media pembelajaran berbasis Quick Response (QR) Code, dapat menjadi solusi untuk meningkatkan efektivitas pembelajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan media pembelajaran berbasis QR Code yang diintegrasikan dengan model flipped classroom. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian dan pengembangan (R&D) dengan subjek penelitian siswa kelas V di SDI Tanbihul Ghofilin Surabaya. Proses pengembangan media dilakukan melalui tahapan analisis, desain, pengembangan, implementasi, dan evaluasi, sementara data efektivitas media diambil melalui kuesioner dan tes hasil belajar. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan QR Code dalam flipped classroom mampu meningkatkan keterlibatan siswa dan memberikan dampak positif terhadap hasil belajar mereka. Media pembelajaran berbasis QR Code efektif digunakan dalam model flipped classroom untuk mendukung proses pembelajaran yang lebih interaktif dan mandiri.

Abstract

This study explores and analyses the impact of giving questions designed based on the principles of higher-order thinking Skills (HOTS) on students' critical thinking skills in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) subjects. In this study, the method used is quantitative, where the data collected is in the form of numbers obtained from the respondents involved. Based on the results of the analysis conducted, it was found that there was no significant effect regarding the provision of HOTS-based questions and students' critical thinking skills in the context of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning. In other words, it can be concluded that although HOTS questions are designed to improve critical thinking skills, the results show that the administration of these questions does not significantly impact students' critical thinking skills. The findings of this study indicate the need for further studies on other factors that may affect students' critical thinking skills in this subject. Therefore, further research is essential to understand more comprehensively the aspects that can contribute to improving students' critical thinking skills.

Abstract

Kinerja guru yang baik sangat berpengaruh terhadap tercapainya tujuan pendidikan. Salah satu faktor yang mempengaruhi kinerja guru adalah kepemimpinan transformasional.. Berdasarkan hasil wawancara dengan Sekretaris Dinas Pendidikan Kabupaten Muaro Jambi, diketahui bahwa kinerja guru di SMP Negeri Se-Kabupaten Muaro Jambi masih memerlukan pengembangan. Faktor-faktor seperti kepemimpinan transformasional, kepuasan kerja, dan motivasi kerja berperan penting dalam hal ini. Hal tersebut mendorong peneliti untuk meneliti pengaruh ketiga faktor tersebut terhadap kinerja guru. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh kepemimpinan transformasional, kepuasan kerja, dan motivasi kerja terhadap kinerja guru di SMP Negeri Se-Kabupaten Muaro Jambi. Kepemimpinan transformasional diukur melalui empat indikator: kharisma, rangsangan intelektual, inspirasi, dan perhatian individual. Sedangkan kinerja guru dilihat dari indikarornya, yaitu (1) Menguasai bahan yang akan diajarkan (2) Mengelola Program belajar mengajar (3) Menge1ola Kelas (4) Menggunakan Media/sumber pelajaran (5) Menguasai landasan-landasan kependidikan (6) Mengelo1a interaksi belajar mengajar (7) Menilai prestasi siswa (8) Mengenal fungsi dan program bimbingan dan penyuluhan (9) Mengenal dan menyelenggarakan administrasi sekolah (10) Memahami prinsip-prinsip dan menafsirkan hasil-hasil penelitian. Sementara itu, kepuasan kerja guru diukur berdasarkan lima aspek, yakni pekerjaan, upah/gaji, promosi, pengawas, dan rekan kerja. Motivasi kerja guru dilihat beberapa inidikator untuk motivasi internal adalah (1) tanggung jawab terhadap pekerjaan, (2) memiliki minat terhadap pekerjaan, (3) kepuasan dalam bekerja, (4) adanya kebutuhan yang harus dipenuhi dan (5) semangat dalam bekerja. Sedangkan untuk motivasi eksternal, indikatornya adalah (1) memperoleh pujian atau perhatian dari orang lain, (2) ingin mendaatkan uang/intensif/imbalan, (3) keinginan untuk mendapatkan penghargaan atau prestasi, (4) dorongan dari atasan, hubungan antar pribadi, dan (5) kondisi kerja. Hasil penelitian diharapkan dapat memberikan kontribusi signifikan terhadap peningkatan kinerja guru melalui pemahaman faktor-faktor yang memengaruhi.Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan data yang dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner yang disebarkan kepada guru-guru di SMP Negeri. Data dianalisis menggunakan metode statistik deskriptif dan inferensial untuk mengetahui hubungan antara variabel-variabel yang diteliti. Temuan dari penelitian ini diharapkan dapat digunakan sebagai dasar dalam pengambilan kebijakan oleh Dinas Pendidikan Kabupaten Muaro Jambi untuk meningkatkan kualitas kinerja guru dan sistem pendidikan.

Abstract

Elementary school-age children in their development have characteristics in terms of thinking, physical, morality, social abilities, and so on. Children's thinking power increases as they get older, and their insight increases, which will make them think concretely, rationally, and objectively, unlike before. In this research, the author applies a qualitative method, a descriptive qualitative approach, and a library study method. Based on this research, it can be said that there are differences in the previous period in the thinking power of elementary school children who have changed from imaginative and egocentric thinking to concrete, rational, and objective thinking. In measuring competency in religious education lessons, you cannot only rely on cognitive assessments but must be complex, namely, cognitive, affective, psychomotor, attitudes, and behavior of students. From the evaluation results, it is hoped that we will create perfect human beings who always try to strengthen their faith, piety, and morals and actively build Islamic civilization.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis implikasi penggunaan aplikasi TikTok dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris sebagai Bahasa Asing (EFL) pada siswa XI TJKT B di SMK Negeri 1 Lubuk Pakam. Dengan menggunakan metode survei dan wawancara, data dikumpulkan dari 35 siswa dan satu guru bahasa Inggris yang aktif menggunakan TikTok sebagai alat bantu pengajaran. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa TikTok secara signifikan meningkatkan minat dan motivasi siswa dalam belajar bahasa Inggris, khususnya melalui konten yang kreatif, ringkas, dan interaktif. Guru juga melaporkan bahwa siswa menjadi lebih antusias dan lebih mudah mengingat kosakata dan struktur bahasa setelah mengintegrasikan TikTok ke dalam pembelajaran mereka. Selain itu, TikTok memfasilitasi pengenalan aspek budaya berbahasa Inggris, yang dianggap penting dalam meningkatkan pemahaman bahasa siswa secara keseluruhan. Namun, terlepas dari manfaat besar yang diberikan TikTok, penting bagi pendidik untuk mengintegrasikannya dengan metode pengajaran tradisional untuk memastikan siswa memperoleh pemahaman yang lebih mendalam. Studi ini merekomendasikan agar platform media sosial seperti TikTok terus dieksplorasi dalam konteks pendidikan untuk menciptakan pengalaman belajar yang lebih menarik dan relevan bagi siswa.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze school management in enhancing teacher professionalism at SMP Negeri 8 Muaro Jambi. The principal plays a crucial role as a motivator and facilitator in supporting teachers’ competency development through internal training, seminars, webinars, and independent training via the SIM PKB platform. The study adopts a qualitative approach using a case study method. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with the principal, teachers, and administrative staff, as well as direct observations of school activities. The findings indicate that the school's management strategies include activating learning communities (KOMBEL), direct observation of the learning process, and collaboration with PGRI and assigned supervisors to organize in-school training. While these programs are effective, the study also identified challenges in their implementation, such as varying levels of teacher motivation, time constraints, limited IT skills, and insufficient supporting facilities. Additionally, ineffective communication in conveying information about professional development programs was found to be an obstacle. The study concludes that the role of the principal as a motivator and facilitator significantly impacts improving teacher professionalism. Moral support, incentives, and relevant training can enhance teachers’ skills and the quality of learning. Thus, effective school management can positively influence student learning outcomes and foster a more dynamic and interactive learning environment. Recommendations are provided to improve communication strategies and incentive support to optimize teacher participation in professional development.

Abstract

Character education is seen as important and one of the starting points for building a national civilization. Character education has actually been around since the existence of education because, in general, education basically aims to develop good character. The number of bad characters appearing on the surface is a national concern. The method in this research is qualitative with a descriptive approach. The results of this research show that the role of a PAI teacher includes several roles. A PAI teacher, like other teachers, has a very important role, such as teacher, guide, role model, coach, advisor, counselor, and facilitator, which is in line with the current curriculum and carries out evaluations. The role of PAI teachers in developing the religious character of class III students at SDN 2 Donotirto is carried out using several methods, namely the exemplary method, advice, habituation, reward and punishment, and the story method. In this exemplary method, all madrasah members are involved in providing good role models and can be good examples for students in terms of speaking, worship, dressing, time discipline, and even respecting other people. The advice method is carried out by all teachers at school, whether it is typing lessons, flag ceremonies, or before the Dhuha and Asmaul Husna prayers.
