Abstract

This study aims to examine the use of the Bahal Portibi Temple as a source of Social Science (IPS) learning at SMP Negeri 1 Halongonan, North Padang Lawas Regency. The Bahal Temple is a historical heritage site with high educational value and great potential for integration into the contextual learning process. This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach, utilizing data collection techniques that include observation, interviews, and documentation. The study's results demonstrate that the Bahal Temple possesses historical, cultural, and architectural values that are highly relevant to support social studies learning, particularly in aspects of local history and culture. However, its use is still limited due to limited infrastructure, low teacher awareness, and a lack of support from educational institutions. Therefore, an integrative and collaborative strategy is needed between schools, the community, and the government to optimize the use of local historical sites as an effective and meaningful learning medium.

Abstract

This study explores the effectiveness of the Falou English application in enhancing the speaking skills of seventh-semester English Department students. Using a qualitative approach through questionnaires and interviews, the research investigates how students’ experiences with the app influence their speaking fluency, confidence, and academic communication. The findings show that students perceive the app as a helpful and engaging tool, providing interactive features and real-time feedback that support consistent and confident speaking practice. Despite its benefits, students also encountered several challenges, including technical issues, limited content access, and cultural or linguistic mismatches. These obstacles, however, did not diminish their overall positive perception of the app’s impact on speaking development. The study concludes that the Falou English application holds strong potential as a complementary tool for speaking instruction in higher education, contributing meaningfully to learner engagement, motivation, and communicative competence

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of Digital Marketing and Brand Awareness on the Sales of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) products in Sumbawa Regency. Facing challenges of intense market competition and limited access, MSMEs require effective strategies to improve sales performance. This research employed a quantitative approach by distributing questionnaires to 100 MSME owners selected using the Slovin formula sampling technique. The collected data were analyzed using the Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) method with SmartPLS software. The analysis results indicate that the Digital Marketing (X1) and Brand Awareness (X2) variables simultaneously have a significant effect on the Sales (Y) variable, with an R-Square value of 0.718. Hypothesis testing proved that Digital Marketing (T-statistic 4.982) and Brand Awareness (T-statistic 5.733) each have a positive and significant influence on Sales. These findings confirm that implementing effective digital marketing strategies and building strong brand awareness are crucial factors for driving the sales growth of MSMEs in the local market.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of digital literacy, brand image, and word of mouth (WOM) on Generation Z's interest in using the OVO digital wallet in Sumbawa Regency. A quantitative approach with a causal associative method was applied, involving 100 Generation Z respondents (aged 12–27 years) selected through a purposive sampling technique. Data were collected using a 5-point Likert Scale-based questionnaire and analyzed using multiple linear regression using SPSS. The results showed that all three independent variables had a positive and significant effect on OVO usage interest. Digital literacy had the highest regression coefficient (0.462), followed by brand image (0.327) and WOM (0.236). The research model was able to explain 49.6% of the variation in usage interest, with the remainder influenced by other factors outside the model. These findings reinforce the importance of increasing digital literacy, strengthening brand image, and utilizing WOM as strategies to encourage fintech adoption among Generation Z, especially in non-metropolitan areas such as Sumbawa. Practical implications include recommendations for OVO to organize digital education programs, collaborate with local influencers, and develop a community-based referral system

Abstract

Using self-control as a moderating variable, this study attempts to examine how social media and online games affect students' motivation to learn at Padang State University's Faculty of Economics and Business. Students' extensive usage of digital technology can affect their motivation to learn in both positive and negative ways. Since social media and online games are two of the most popular digital activities, it is critical to look at how they affect students' motivation for learning. This study employed a quantitative methodology, gathering information from current students at Padang State University's Faculty of Economics and Business via questionnaires. For data analysis, moderated regression techniques were employed. The findings demonstrated that playing online games significantly reduced motivation to learn, while social media exhibited varying effects depending on the intensity and purpose of use. It has been demonstrated that Self-control lessens social media's influence. and online gaming on learning motivation. Students with high levels of self-control were able to manage their use of online games and social media more wisely so as not to interfere with their learning motivation. These results

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of pianica music learning using the drill method in improving fine motor skills among children with cerebral palsy (CP) at the Rumah Pintar Special Needs School in Salatiga. The research employed a qualitative case study approach involving five students with varying degrees of CP severity. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation to assess the impact of repetitive and structured practice using the pianica as a learning medium. The findings revealed significant improvements in fine motor skills, particularly in hand-eye coordination, finger strength, and rhythm pattern comprehension. Initially, students struggled with simple rhythmic patterns, but after 12 sessions, their success rate increased to 80% with more complex rhythms. The drill method also had a positive impact on students’ motivation and confidence. Previously passive students became more enthusiastic and willing to take on new challenges. The study also found that the degree of CP severity affected the learning outcomes, highlighting the need for individualized teaching approaches. In conclusion, the drill method using the pianica is effective in enhancing fine motor abilities and supporting the psychological development of children with CP. This approach can serve as a relevant strategy for special education and is worth adopting more broadly.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the effect of Teaching Games for Understanding (TGfU) learning model on improving poetry reading skills among fifth-grade students at UPT SDN 37 Pinrang. The study employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design using pretest-posttest control group design. The research sample consisted of 56 fifth-grade students divided into an experimental group (n=28) taught using the TGfU model and a control group (n=28) taught using conventional methods. Research instruments included poetry reading ability tests, observation sheets, student response questionnaires, and interview guidelines. Data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. Results showed that: (1) The implementation of the TGfU model in poetry reading instruction was carried out through six stages: Game Form, Game Appreciation, Tactical Awareness, Making Appropriate Decisions, Skill Execution, and Performance; (2) There was a significant effect of the TGfU learning model on improving students' poetry reading ability (t-value=6.283; p<0.05) with the experimental group's average improvement (22.82) higher than the control group (10.18); (3) Students' responses to the TGfU learning model were in the very positive category with an average score of 3.65. The highest improvement occurred in the expression and appreciation aspects, indicating the effectiveness of the TGfU model in developing affective competencies in poetry reading. This research concludes that the adaptation of the TGfU model, which emphasizes games and student activity, effectively improves poetry reading skills.
