Abstract

Utilizing remote sensing data and Geographic Information Systems to analyze the spatial distribution of watershed land use is one way to prepare land use designations. This research aims to determine the distribution and suitability of land use in the Wanggu River Basin Zone South Konawe Regency. The method used in this research uses a survey method with supervised classification. The research results obtained eight land use classes, namely, empty land, residential areas, water bodies, shrubs, rice fields, plantations, ponds and forests. The results of the analysis showed that the pond land use class had the smallest percentage, namely 1.09%, while the land use class had the lowest percentage. high, namely forest with a percentage of 64.01%. Based on the accuracy test with the confusion matrix, the accuracy of the Landsat-8 imagery interpretation results was 86.63%. The watershed land use is appropriate and the interpretation results are in the good category, so that land suitability in the Wanggu watershed is more dominant in suitable land with an area of 43,776.96 ha or 67.58%, than unsuitable land with an area of 20,764.79 ha or 32.42%.

Abstract

Tomia District is one of the two districts located on Tomia Island, Wakatobi Regency. The district offers various marine tourism destinations that captivate visitors, one of which is the One Moba’a tourist attraction. This study aims to: 1) examine the social conditions of workers at the One Moba’a tourist attraction in Tomia District, Wakatobi Regency, and 2) analyze their economic conditions. This research employed a descriptive quantitative method with percentage analysis as the data analysis technique. The findings reveal that the income level of workers at the One Moba’a tourist attraction generally falls into the medium category. Furthermore, most workers already have decent housing that meets several livability criteria, with the majority owning their homes. In terms of educational background, most workers have relatively high education levels, with the highest completed level being senior high school. The implication of this study is that the improvement of workers’ welfare in the marine tourism sector is not solely determined by income levels, but also by educational support, asset ownership, and stable social conditions. Therefore, the results of this research can serve as a reference for local governments and tourism managers in formulating sustainable tourism development strategies that not only focus on increasing tourist visits but also on enhancing the quality of life of the workers involved.

The objectives of this study are: 1) to determine the physical quality of water such as temperature, turbidity, color, odor, and taste; and 2) to determine the chemical quality of water such as pH, salinity, detergent content of Matakidi bathing springs as drinking water in Barangka Village, Barangka District, West Muna Regency. This type of research is a descriptive survey research. The data analysis technique used in this study is comparative data analysis. The results of this study indicate that the average physical quality includes temperature 25.8oC, turbidity 5 NTU, color 11.2 TCU, odorless and tasteless. While the chemical quality includes pH 7.28, salinity 0.02 ppt and detergent content 0.24 mg/l. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that the physical and chemical properties of the Matakidi Bathing Spring that do not meet the standard requirements for drinking water are the detergent content because it exceeds the maximum limit that has been determined, namely 0.05 mg/l based on the Regulation of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia No. 492/Menkes/Per/IV/2010.
