Abstract

This study aims to analyze research trends and map thematic developments related to the use of lift-the-flap books in early childhood numeracy learning during the 2020-2025 period using a bibliometric analysis approach. Data were retrieved from Google Scholar using the Publish or Perish application and analyzed with VOSviewer to map keyword networks, temporal trends, and thematic density. The findings indicate that research publications fluctuated over the study period and demonstrated dynamic thematic development. The thematic mapping identified six major clusters and revealed a shift in research focus from the introduction of numerical symbols toward studies of learning processes, children’s learning experiences, and the role of educators. The novelty of this study lies in its systematic mapping of the structure and developmental trajectory of research on lift-the-flap books in early childhood numeracy learning, providing theoretical contributions as well as practical implications for future research and the development of instructional media in early childhood education.

Abstract

The study aims to map publication trends, dominant themes, and the developmental direction of unplugged CTD research within the context of early childhood education. Data were retrieved from Google Scholar using the Publish or Perish application for publications issued between 2020 and 2025. A total of 500 articles, selected based on topic relevance, metadata completeness, and publication period, were analyzed using VOSviewer to identify keyword relationships and thematic research clusters. The findings indicate relatively stable growth in publications, accompanied by a fairly high citation rate, and the emergence of ten major thematic clusters. The most prominent themes include thinking skill, technology, and unplugged assessment, while recent research trends increasingly focus on the development of assessment instruments for computational thinking. The novelty of this study lies in its scientific mapping of the thematic structure, research trends, and research gaps in unplugged computational thinking development, providing both theoretical and practical references for the advancement of early childhood education.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of parenting class programs as a strategy for strengthening school-family communication in early childhood education settings. The study employed a narrative literature review of relevant studies on family involvement in early childhood education. The findings indicate that parenting class programs are oriented toward three main dimensions: educational, collaborative, and communicative. These programs are implemented through parenting seminars, visit my home activities, parent gatherings, counseling sessions, and the use of digital media, all of which contribute to improving parenting knowledge, strengthening school–family partnerships, and promoting effective two-way communication between teachers and parents. The scientific contribution of this study lies in integrating Epstein’s and Hornby’s models of parental involvement as a conceptual framework for developing parenting programs that are participatory, adaptive to digital developments, and aligned with policies on family involvement in education. This integration represents the novelty of the study by offering a comprehensive approach to sustainably strengthening school–family communication in early childhood education.

Abstract

This study aims to develop interactive videos as a means of introducing prosocial and antisocial behavior to children aged 5–6 years in Palembang City. The study used the Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE model which includes the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The research subjects involved material experts, media experts, educators, and children aged 5–6 years. Data collection was carried out through validation questionnaires, practicality questionnaires, and observations, while data analysis was carried out descriptively. The results showed that the developed interactive video media was declared very valid and very practical and received very good responses from children. This media is able to help children recognize and differentiate prosocial and antisocial behavior. The novelty of this research lies in the development of interactive videos based on children's needs that are participatory and contextual, making them more effective than passive video media currently used in learning.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the process of internalizing Islamic values through puzzle-based activities among early childhood learners at Tadika Mutiara Qysara, Malaysia. The study employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive research design. The research informants consisted of teachers and students selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation and were subsequently analyzed through the stages of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that the internalization of Islamic values occurred through three stages: planning puzzle media containing Islamic values, implementing learning activities under teacher guidance, and habituating these values in daily activities. The values developed included aspects of faith, worship, and social morality, such as honesty, responsibility, cooperation (ta‘awun), and discipline. The novelty of this study lies in its model of Islamic value internalization through the stages of planning, implementation, and habituation, which are systematically integrated into puzzle media as a learning strategy in early childhood education institutions.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of the traditional game Rangku Alu on the gross motor development of children aged 5-6 years at TKIT Baitusshalihin, Banda Aceh. The research employed a quantitative method with a quasi-experimental approach using a non-equivalent control group design. The sample was determined through purposive sampling, consisting of Class B2 as the experimental group with 23 children and Class B1 as the control group with 26 children. Data were collected using a gross motor development observation sheet and analyzed through normality testing, homogeneity testing, and paired sample t-tests. The results indicate that the traditional game Rangku Alu has a significant effect on children’s gross motor development. This is evidenced by the improvement in gross motor skills in the experimental group, with a mean difference of -5.565 and a significance value of < 0.001, while the control group showed a mean difference of -3.269 with a significance value of < 0.001. These findings suggest that the Rangku Alu game provides a greater contribution in stimulating gross motor development in early childhood.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of the waterwheel project method on children’s interpersonal intelligence at PAUD Lingkar Berseri Banda Aceh. The study employed a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental design using a one-group pretest-posttest design. The research sample consisted of 12 children in Class B, comprising 7 boys and 5 girls. Data were collected through observation and documentation techniques. The findings showed an improvement in children’s interpersonal intelligence, as indicated by the average pretest score of 1.57 and the average posttest score of 3.57. The hypothesis testing using a paired sample t-test revealed that the t-count value of 41.95 was greater than the t-table value of 1.795, indicating that Hₐ was accepted and H₀ was rejected. The results of the study demonstrate that the waterwheel project method has a positive and significant effect on the interpersonal intelligence of children at PAUD Lingkar Berseri Banda Aceh.

Abstract

This study aimed to examine the effect of cotton painting activities on the creativity of early childhood learners at RA Fajar Ummi. The study employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest model. The research sample consisted of 9 children selected through a total sampling technique. Data were collected through observation and documentation, while data analysis was conducted using the Shapiro-Wilk normality test, the Paired Samples t-Test to determine whether there was a significant effect, and Cohen’s d effect size test to measure the magnitude of the effect, with the assistance of IBM SPSS Statistics 27. The results showed that the Paired Samples t-Test yielded a significance value of Sig. (2-tailed) < 0.001 < 0.05, indicating that H₀ was rejected and Hₐ was accepted. Furthermore, Cohen’s d effect size value of 5.620 indicated a very large effect.
