Abstract

This study was aimed at determining the effectiveness of metal casting practice equipement in improving student learning outcomes in metal casting practice from the cognitive aspects. This study used quasi-experimental method with pretest-posttest control group design. The population of this study were the students of class X Machine Engineering at vocational high school in Yogyakarta year 2016/2017. The samples were taken by random assignment method. The control group sample was class X TP 3 and the sample of the experimental group was class X TP 4. The data were collected using objective test instruments given before and after the treatment. The data analysis used in this study was descriptive statistics and parametric statistics using the T-test. The calculation of data analysis used SPSS v18 software. The results show that the media of metal casting practice tools is effective in improving student learning outcomes in the metal casting practice material from the cognitive aspects. This is indicated by the percentage of completeness of learning outcomes of students who use media casting metal casting tools by 75% while students who use the lecture method by 35.7%.PERANGKAT PRAKTIK PENGECORAN UNTUK MENINGKATKAN HASIL BELAJAR SISWAAbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas media perangkat praktik pengecoran logam dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada materi praktik pengecoran logam dari aspek kognitif. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuasi eksperimen dengan desain pretest-posttest control group design. Populasi penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X Teknik Pemesinan SMK di Yogyakarta Tahun Ajaran 2016/2017. Sampel diambil dengan cara random assignment. Sampel kelompok kontrol adalah kelas X TP 3 dan sampel kelompok eksperimen adalah kelas X TP 4. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan instrumen tes objektif yang diberikan sebelum dan sesudah pembelajaran.Analisis data yang digunakan adalah statistik deskriptif dan statistik parametris dengan uji-T. Perhitungan analisis data menggunakan software SPSS v18. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa media perangkat praktik pengecoran logam efektif dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada materi praktik pengecoran logam dari aspek kognitif. Hal ini ditunjukkan dengan persentase ketuntasan hasil belajar siswa yang menggunakan media perangkat praktik pengecoran logam sebesar 75% sedangkan siswa yang menggunakan metode ceramah sebesar 35,7%.

Abstract

This study was aimed at identifying university’s disclosure about their management through their websites. Completeness of information in this report should be made to improve transparency of information. This study was conducted through observation on the website and data collection on relevant regulations and literature studies to support this research. This study used 50 universities as samples. The sample selection used was purposive sampling method. The ten domains studied included identity, tridharma, governance, academics, public recognition, actuality, accessibility, stakeholders, internal facilities, and external facilities. The results show that the university website from Java region disclose more adequate than outside Java. While based on accreditation, universities with “A” accreditation disclose more adequate compared to “B” accreditation. Based on the type, State Universities disclose more adequate than private universities. Conclusions of this study, there are many universities that do not fully disclose the information on their website. And this should be a concern for every university and regulator.Transparansi Pengelolaan PERGURUAN TINGGI melalui Penyajian Informasi pada Situs webPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengamati transparansi perguruan tinggi (PT) mengenai pengelolaan operasinya melalui situs web. Kelengkapan informasi pelaporan ini perlu diperhatikan untuk meningkatkan transparansi informasi. Penelitian deskriptif dilakukan melalui observasi pada situs web dan pengumpulan data atas regulasi yang relevan serta studi literatur untuk mendukung penelitian. Penelitian ini menggunakan 50 PT sebagai sampel. Pemilihan sampel menggunakan purposive sampling method. Sepuluh domain yang diteliti mencakup identitas, tridharma, tata kelola, akademik, pengakuan publik, aktualitas, aksesibilitas, stakeholders, fasilitas internal, dan fasilitas eksternal. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa situs web Perguruan Tinggi yang berasal dari wilayah Jawa mengungkapkan lebih memadai dibandingkan dengan wilayah di luar Jawa. Adapun berdasarkan akreditasi, Perguruan Tinggi yang memiliki akreditasi “A” mengungkapkan lebih memadai dibandingkan dengan yang memiliki akreditasi “B”. Berdasarkan jenisnya Perguruan Tinggi negeri memiliki kelengkapan informasi lebih memadai dibandingkan Perguruan Tinggi swasta. Kesimpulan penelitian ini, masih terdapat banyak Perguruan Tinggi yang tidak mengungkapan secara lengkap informasi pada situs web, dan semestinya menjadi perhatian bagi setiap Perguruan Tinggi dan juga regulator.

Abstract

EFEKTIVITAS LAGU-LAGU BERBAHASA JAWA UNTUK MENANAMKAN NILAI-NILAI KARAKTER SISWAAbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan karakter siswa sebelum dan sesudah diberi pembelajaran menggunakan lagu-lagu berbahasa Jawa. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian praeksperimental dengan desain one group pretest posttest design. Subjek penelitiannya 30 siswa PAUD Mutiara Hati Semarang dan lima guru. Data nilai-nilai karakter dikumpulkan dengan teknik observasi dan wawancara. Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan teknik analisis deskriptif dan statistik inferensial. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan sebagai pertama, terdapat perbedaan karakter yang signifikan antara karakter siswa sebelum diberi pembelajaran menggunakan media lagu berbahasa Jawa dengan sesudah diberi pembelajaran menggunakan media lagu berbahasa Jawa. Kedua, perubahan yang terjadi menunjukkan arah yang lebih positif, yakni karakter mandiri, disiplin, cinta tanah air, religius, kerja keras, dan peduli lingkungan. Karakter yang paling konsisten mengalami peningkatan adalah karakter kepedulian lingkungan. Konsistensi tersebut disebabkan karena guru selalu membiasakan siswanya untuk selalu peduli lingkungan sejak awal masuk di PAUD tersebut.Kata kunci: karakter, lagu berbahasa Jawa, PAUDAbstractThis study was aimed at determining the differences in the characters of the students before and after being given classroom learning using Javanese songs. The study was preexperimental research with a one group pretest posttest design. The subjects of this study were 30 students and 5 teachers of PAUD Mutiara Hati Semarang. The data on character values were collected by observation and interview techniques. The data were analyzed using descriptive analysis techniques and inferential statistics. The results show that: first, there are significant character differences between the characters of students before and after being given learning using Javanese songs. Second, the changes that occur indicate positive characters namely independence, discipline, nationalism, religiousity, hard work, and environmental awareness. The most consistent character that has increased is the character of environmental awareness. The consistency is due to the fact that teachers always familiarize their students with environment issues since the beginning of classes.Keywords: character building, Javanese song, early childhood education program

Abstract

The research is meant to find out the role of muscle's relative strength in judo learning.The method used is descriptive correlation method with path analysis. technique. Cousal models being hypothesized correlate the wi"iables of muscle's relative strength to pull and Push in judo learning. The results are: the form  causal models being hypothesized must be changed by eliminating the pth having coeficient less than 0.05. The pathbetween age and skill mastery of model I and 2, and  tw,een age and combination of skills of mastery and technique application of model 3 and 4 are eliminated. The relatrve strength to pull has dominant role to wards the skill technique mastery and application in the play, and the relatrve strength to pushhas  dominant rolet owards the skill of the technique mastery and application and also the combination of two skills,because the paths among the variables in the new models still exist.

Abstract

ANALISIS KEBIJAKAN PENDIDIKAN INKLUSI: STUDI KASUS DI SEKOLAH DASAR JAMBIAbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi dan mendiskripsikan jenis kebijakan dan program pendidikan yang dibuat oleh pemerintah khususnya tentang kebijakan pendidikan inklusi terkait dengan kurikulum pendidikan inklusi, rekrutmen guru pembimbing khusus (GPK), dan sarana prasarana di sekolah dengan kebijakan pendidikan inklusi. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara dengan delapan informan, observasi di lima kelas, dan dokumentasi di SD Negeri 131/IV Jambi yang menjadi tempat penelitian ini. Data wawancara dianalisis dengan menggunakan “within case and cross-case analysis” antarinforman. Data observasi dicatat dan disajikan sesuai dengan tema hasil wawancara dan data dokumen digunakan sebagai pembanding data wawancara dan observasi. Hasil dari penelitian ini menjabarkan tentang tidak ada persiapan penerimaan murid baru dan kurangnya perhatian pemerintah atas dukungan sarana prasarana. Penyajian data juga termasuk tantangan yang dihadapi dalam penerapan pendidikan inklusi di Provinsi Jambi. Saran dan masukan berupa peran aktif pihak sekolah dalam penyelenggaraan pendidikan inklusi, melakukan perekrutan guru yang baik, dan bagi pemerintah untuk mendukung sarana dan prasarana pendidikan.AbstractThis study was aimed at exploring and describing the types of education policies and programs developed by the government, especially on inclusive education policies related to inclusion-education curriculum, special mentor recruitment, and infrastructure facilities in the schools which implemented inclusive education policies. The study used a qualitative approach with a case-study method. The data were collected through interviews with 8 informants, 5 classroom observations, and documentation at the State Elementary School 131/ IV Jambi. The interview data were analyzed using within-case and cross-case analyses among informants. The observational data were recorded and presented in accordance with the theme of the interview results and documentation data was used as the comparison. The results show that there is no new student admission preparation, and the lack of government attention on infrastructure supports. The presentation of data also includes the challenges faced in implementing inclusive education in Jambi. The suggestion for school parties in the implementation of inclusive education is by conducting teacher recruitment and for the government to support educational facilities and infrastructure.

Abstract

The aim of this study was to know the students’ responses forlearning mathematics by using the realistic approach. Suchstudents’ responses were important as reference for follow up in theimplementation of mathematics realistic education applied atschool. The study was descriptive research. The subjects of thestudy were students of Year 2, Santa Agnes Junior High School inSurabaya. Data were obtained by observing the teacher’scompetence in managing instruction, observing students activities,an achievement test, and a student questionnaire. The researchresulst showed that, out of a total of 53 students, more than 75%gave positive responses on the approach. They further showed that:(1) the students liked all of the learning components (83, 02%), (2)The students considered that all of the learning components werenew things (79, 24%), (3) the students had a great interest to jointhe learning through the realistic approach (88, 68%), and (4) thestudents considered that the student books and student worksheetswere understandable and interesting (83, 96%)

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan pengaruh gaya belajar visual, auditorial, dan kinestetik terhadap prestasi belajar siswa pada Jurusan Bangunan SMK Negeri 5 Kupang. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan angket dan dokumentasi. Populasi berjumlah 133 orang dan sampel berjumlah 100 orang yang ditentukan dengan teknik proportionate stratisfied random sampling. Uji hipotesis dilakukan dengan analisis regresi linear berganda dan sederhana dengan taraf signifikansi 0,05. Hasil penelitian sebagai berikut. Pertama, terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan gaya belajar visual, auditorial, dan kinestetik terhadap prestasi belajar. Kedua, terdapat pengaruh signifikan gaya belajar visual terhadap prestasi belajar. Ketiga, terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan gaya belajar auditorial terhadap prestasi belajar. Keempat, terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan gaya belajar kinestetik terhadap prestasi belajar. Kelima, hasil uji determinasi menunjukkan sumbangan relatif gaya belajar visual, auditorial, dan kinestetik terhadap prestasi belajar siswa sebesar 34,8%. Sumbangan relatif masing-masing terhadap prestasi belajar, yakni: gaya belajar visual 26,4%, gaya belajar auditorial 24,2%, dan gaya belajar kinestetik 26,2%.

Abstract

EVALUASI IMPLEMENTASI PENDIDIKAN KARAKTER DI PERGURUAN TINGGIAbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi implementasi program pendidikan karakter di perguruan tinggi, terutama bagi mahasiswa. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian evaluasi. Penelitian ini melibatkan responden berjumlah 129 mahasiswa UNY yang diambil secara acak. Data dikumpulkan dengan angket dan dianalisis secara deskriptif kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa secara umum implementasi pendidikan karakter sudah berjalan dengan sangat baik dan sudah berhasil sesuai dengan yang direncanakan, meskipun masih ada yang perlu ditingkatkan kualitasnya. Implementasi nilai-nilai karakter bagi mahasiswa yang termuat dalam visi secara umum sudah berhasil dengan sangat baik, meskipun ada beberapa capaian aspek karakter yang kurang baik. Keberhasilan implementasi pendidikan karakter karena dukungan sarana dan prasarana yang ada. Namun demikian, masih ada beberapa hambatan dalam implementasi pendidikan karakter di antaranya banyaknya jumlah mahasiswa dari berbagai latar belakang yang berbeda, belum adanya komitmen yang sama tentang pendidikan karakter dari warga dan belum adanya peraturan yang tegas serta dana khusus yang cukup untuk mengawal implementasi pendidikan karakter.AbstractThis study was aimed at evaluating the implementation of character education program at the university level, especially for the students. This study was categorized as evaluation research. This study was conducted at Yogyakarta State University (YSU) with the respondents of 129 students which was chosen using random sampling technique. The data were collected using questionnaire and analyzed using quantitative descriptive method. The results show that in general the implementation of character education at the university level had been going very well and had been successful as planned, although there were still things that needed to be improved in quality. Implementation of character values for students contained in the vision of YSU in general has been very successful. There are some achievements of character aspects that are not good. The successful implementation of character education at YSU is due to the support of existing facilities and infrastructure. However, there are still some obstacles in the implementation of character education at YSU, including a large number of students from different backgrounds, the absence of the same commitment about character education from YSU residents, and the absence of strict regulations and insufficient funds to oversee the implementation of character education at YSU.

Abstract

EFEKTIVITAS TUTOR SEBAYA DAN PEKERJAAN RUMAH DALAM MENINGKATKAN SELF- REGULATED LEARNING SISWAAbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji efektivitas metode tutor teman sebaya dan pekerjaan rumah dalam meningkatkan kemampuan Self Regulated Learning (SRL) siswa. Untuk mencapai tujuan tersebut, dilaksanakan eksperimen dengan memberikan perlakuan kepada dua kelompok siswa yang berbeda, satu kelompok mendapatkan perlakuan dengan metode tutor teman sebaya dengan jumlah sampel 32 siswa dan kelompok lainnya mendapatkan perlakuan dengan pemberian pekerjaan rumah dengan sampel 31 siswa, dan satu kelompok lagi yang berfungsi sebagai kelompok kontrol dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 33 siswa. Instrumen dalam penelitian ini menggunakan skala untuk mengukur SRLsiswa. Data dianalisis menggunakan teknik ANOVA satu jalur. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa metode tutor teman sebayalebih tinggi hasilnya untuk meningkatkan kemampuan SLR siswa dibandingkan pekerjaan rumah. Hal ini ditunjukkan dengan diperolehnya nilai F sebesar 118,448 dengan taraf signifikasi sebesar 0,000 dan rerata untuk kelompok dengan perlakuan tutor teman sebaya sebesar 159,12 sedangkan untuk kelompok dengan perlakuan pemberian pekerjaan rumah sebesar 142,81; sementara kelompok kontrol sebesar 125,24.Kata kunci: tutor teman sebaya, pekerjaan rumah, self-regulated learningAbstractThis study was aimed at comparing peer tutoring and homework techniques in improving students’ self-regulated learning (SRL). The study used aquasi-experimental design by conducting treatments to two different groups of students, one group receiving treatment with the peer tutoring method with 32 students, and other group was treated by administering homework with 31 students, and the other group as a control group with 33 students not receiving a specific treatment. The research instrument was a scale to measure the students SRL abilities. One-line ANOVA was used to analyzethe data. The results show that peer tutoring is more influential in improving the ability of students in SRL than in homework. It was indicated by the F value of 118.448 with a significance level of 0.000 and the mean scores for the treatment group with peer tutoring at 159.12, the treatment group with homework at 142.81, while the control group at 125.24.Keywords: peer tutoring, homework, self-regulated learning

Abstract

Abstract The objectives of this research are to find out: (1) leadership style of elementary school principal (ESP) in Yogyakarta province; (2) the difference of leadership style between male and female of elementary school principal; (3) the differences of job satisfaction between male and female teacher; and (4) the correlation between woman’s of elementary school principal transformational leadership style and teacher’s job satisfaction based on gender perspective. Population of this research includes the entire elementary schoolteachers in Yogyakarta province. Multistage random sampling is used questionnaire, while technique data analysis is used descriptive analysis, t-test, and regression. The result of this research shows that most teachers said that their elementary school  principal (ESP) has a high level of transformational leadership style; there is no different leadership style between male and female elementary school principal (t=1.22; p=0.225); most teachers have a high job satisfaction; there is no different job satisfaction between teacher who has a male and female elementary school principal (t=0.47; p=0.639); there is a positive correlation between transformational leadership style of elementary school  principal and teacher’s job satisfaction (R=0.291 t=7.353, p=0.000). Regarding dender perspective, the result of this research shows that both male and female elementary school principal has a positive correlation between transformational leadership style and teacher’s job satisfaction.
