Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan berpikir visual siswa dalam memahami materi geometri menggunakan geogebra. Jenis penelitian ini adalah kualitatif deskriptif. Pengambilan subjek dilakukan dengan menggunakan tes kemampuan matematika oleh seluruh siswa perempuan kelas XII. Dari hasil tes ini akan dipilih satu dari masing-masing kategori siswa kemampuan matematika tinggi, sedang dan rendah. Pengambilan data menggunakan tes berpikir visual yang dilanjutkan dengan wawancara. Indikator yang digunakan adalah indikator berpikir visual dalam memahami materi geometri dimana indikator ini adalah kombinasi dari indikator berpikir visual dan indikator pemahaman konsep berdasarkan kemiripan jenis kegiatannya. Indikator tersebut adalah looking (melihat), mengklasifikasikan objek menurut sifat-sifat tertentu, seeing (mengenali), imagining (membayangkan) dan showing and telling (menunjukkan dan menjelaskan). Hasil penelitian subjek dengan kemampuan matematika tinggi memenuhi semua indikator, subjek dengan kemampuan sedang memenuhi 4 indikator kecuali mengklasifikasikan objek menurut sifat-sifat tertentu, sedangkan subjek dengan kemampuan matematika rendah memenuhi 3 indikator yaitu looking (melihat), seeing (mengenali) dan imagining (membayangkan).

Abstract

Sistem pernapasan termasuk materi yang memuat banyak konsep dan bersifat abstrak karena mekanisme pernapasan terjadi di dalam tubuh. Pembelajaran dengan materi yang sangat banyak berpotensi untuk menimbulkan beban kognitif siswa. Penerapan model flipped learning diharapkan menurunkan beban kognitif sehingga berpengaruh pada hasil belajar siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif. Metode penelitian ini adalah quasi experiment dengan desain menggunakan Post-Test Control Group Design. Pada kelas eksperimen memperoleh pembelajaran dengan model flipped learning dan  kelas kontrol dengan pembelajaran konvensional. Populasi dari penelitian ini adalah kelas VIII MTs Negeri 1 Sidoarjo yang berjumlah 320 orang. Teknik sampling menggunakan cluster random sampling, dimana siswa setiap kelas diacak saat PPDB dan diadakan pengacakan kelas untuk menentukan kelas eksperimen dan kontrol. Sampel dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 60 orang. Teknik pengambilan data menggunakan tes pada materi sistem pernafasan. Analisis data hasil belajar menggunakan uji Mann-Whitney karena data hasil tes tidak terdistribusi normal. Analisis data memperlihatkan ada perbedaan hasil belajar yang signifikan antara kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Penerapan model flipped learning berjalan dengan baik, sehingga disarankan untuk mengajarkan materi dengan banyak konsep dan bersifat abstrak seperti sistem pernapasan.

Abstract

Education is not only to develop cognitive aspects but also to develop the character of a human being. As one of the primary learning sources, the textbook also has to accommodate character education. This study aimed to analyze character education in chemistry subject in the natural sciences textbook of 9th Grade, especially student book. The textbook that was analyzed was published by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology. The study was conducted by a qualitative method using the content analysis technique. Two chapters are analyzed. Particles Composing Objects and Living Things and Eco-friendly Technologies. The study revealed that these two chapters contained all values of Basic Competencies 3 and 4 in Curriculum 2013 (religious, care, responsibility, discipline, honesty, confidence, communicative, creative, scientific thinking, curiosity, democratic, and collaboration).

Abstract

AbstrakPerubahan lingkungan merupakan masalah krusial pada dekade terakhir ini dan berdampak negatif bagi kehidupan. Pendidikan menjadi hal penting yang memiliki hubungan erat dengan implementasi pembelajaran mengenai perubahan iklim. Field trips (karyawisata) dipandang sebagai salah satu metode pembelajaran luar ruangan (outdoor learning) yang sesuai untuk mempelajari berbagai masalah perubahan lingkungan. Pada artikel dengan metode studi literatur ini dibahas tentang potensi dan manfaat field trips untuk melatih kemampuan berpikir kritis dan membangun karakter peduli lingkungan. Ada dua bentuk field trips yaitu real field trips dan virtual field trips. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, diketahui bahwa field trips dapat meningkatkan kecerdasan naturalistik, pengetahuan, dan sikap siswa terhadap lingkungan. Namun ada beberapa hambatan dalam pelaksanaan field trips seperti efikasi guru yang rendah, biaya, faktor keselamatan dan pengawasan, dan keterbatasan waktu. Pada pelaksanaannya, field trips memerlukan perencanaan yang terstruktur dengan baik dan disesuaikan dengan kebutuhan dan karakteristik pesertanya.Kata Kunci: perubahan lingkungan, pembelajaran, kemampuan berpikir kritis, peduli lingkungan

Abstract

The rapid development of science and technology is a challenge for the era of disruption in the 21st century. These phenomena cannot be separated from the hard work of scientists who have scientific habits of mind (SHOM). Science learning that focuses on SHOM can be indicated by the scientific attitude of students during learning, so the benefits of SHOM are to bring out scientific attitudes in students. In addition, SHOM needs to be taught to students so they can solve problems in a structured and systematic way. This study aims to describe the SHOM profile of high school students on chemical equilibrium with the topic of health and the environment. This research includes quantitative descriptive research. The number of samples from this study was 80 students taken from one of the high schools in Magelang City. The data collection technique in this study was a questionnaire. The data research instrument used was a student questionnaire sheet which was a closed questionnaire with five choices namely SD (Strongly Disagree), D (Disagree), QA (Quite Agree), A (Agree), and SA (Strongly Agree). The number of statements that students have to answer is 25 items with details of 14 statements with positive meaning and 11 statements with negative meaning. Then, the data were analyzed by ideal criteria assessment The results of the research that has been done can be seen that the SHOM profile on chemical equilibrium material is 66.7427%. These results indicate that the students' SHOM profile on chemical equilibrium material is classified as fair. So learning modifications are needed such as modification of learning activities, use of learning models and strategies that encourage students to think scientifically, as well as selection of appropriate learning media in order to improve scientific habits of mind.

Abstract

Kurikulum Merdeka mendorong pembelajaran kimia difokuskan pada Sustainable Development Goals, sehingga diperlukan inovasi dalam pembelajaran yang salah satunya dapat melalui penguatan berpikir sistem. Oleh karenanya, penelitian ini ditujukan untuk mengeksplorasi pemahaman guru terkait sejauh mana pengaplikasian Sustainable Development Goals dan penguatan berpikir sistem dalam pembelajaran kimia. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode survei eksploratif kepada 6 guru kimia SMA di wilayah Klaten dan sekitarnya dengan teknik purposive sampling. Angket yang disebarkan kemudian dianalisis dengan teknik coding. Hasilnya, konten Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) dalam pembelajaran kimia belum dapat diimplementasikan oleh 1 dari 2 responden karena belum memahami konten SDGs, khususnya melalui penguatan berpikir sistem dalam pembelajaran kimia. Responden sepakat bahwa SDGs dan berpikir sistem dapat diaplikasikan melalui pengembangan bahan ajar seperti LKPD yang notabene dapat mendorong siswa untuk aktif saat diskusi di dalam kelas.

Abstract

This research aimed to develop an e-book titled "Chemistry in Context" for Grade XI Senior High School students. The study assessed the e-book's quality across nine aspects: conceptual accuracy in chemistry and science, relevance of chemistry in discourse, content material, construction of questions, language and cultural appropriateness, e-book design, usability instructions, literacy components, and numerical aspects. The development process followed the 4D Model, encompassing Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate stages.The outcome of this research is a comprehensive e-book comprising 30 discourse units and Minimum Competency Assessment questions designed to enhance literacy and numerical skills among Grade XI students. Evaluation by reviewers yielded an average score of 182 out of a maximum of 205 points, translating to an impressive 88.78% rating, indicating the e-book's high suitability for educational use.

Abstract

Decision-making skills is needed in dealing with socio-scientific issues (SSI) that is developing in society. Students need to learn to make appropriate judgments, so that they were not easily manipulated or biased towards science-related issue. This paper aims to analyze the validity and reliability of the decision-making skills instrument. The research respondents were 75 high school students (female = 52, male = 23) at Bantul Regency, Special Region of Yogyakarta. The decision-making skills instrument consists of 5 items open-ended questionnaire. Respondents were determined using the random sampling method. The validity test results showed that all of 5 items developed were valid, with Pearson product moment values between 0.572 and 0.801. The reliability test results were valid for all 5 items, with a Cronbach's Alpha coefficient of 0.744. Therefore, it could be concluded that the instrument was valid and highly reliable to measure students' decision-making skills.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi proses pembuatan minyeuk pliek U dari sudut pandang ilmiah dengan menggunakan metode kualitatif dan pendekatan etnosains. Data diperoleh melalui observasi langsung, wawancara, dan studi literatur, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan pendekatan Miles dan Huberman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengetahuan lokal masyarakat tentang pembuatan minyeuk pliek U dapat diintegrasikan ke dalam pengetahuan ilmiah, relevan dengan kompetensi dasar dalam pembelajaran sains. Ini menekankan pentingnya memahami proses tradisional dalam konteks ilmiah untuk menghargai budaya lokal sambil mengembangkan pemahaman tentang sains. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi dalam menghubungkan sains masyarakat dengan sains ilmiah, mendukung pendekatan pembelajaran yang berbasis pada konteks budaya masyarakat.

Abstract

AbstractThis study aims to analyze misconceptions and diagnose the causes of misconceptions in learning chemistry on acid-base material experienced by high school students in the second year. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with a squental explanatory design. The research subjects consisted of all students of class XI IPA 2 SMA Hasanuddin Gowa. The research instruments used include diagnostic tests and interview guidelines. Data were collected through two-tier multiple choice diagnostic tests supported by CRI (Certainty of Response Index) and interviews. The results of the analysis showed the presence of misconceptions in all indicators of the acid-base concept, with an average percentage of misconceptions exceeding 20%. The highest level of misconception was found in the concept of pH in the environment (63.0%), while the lowest misconception was found in the concept of acid-base indicators (33.3%). Diagnosis of the causes of students' misconceptions includes students' lack of mastery of chemical representations, the existence of intuitive and associative thinking, and students' lack of interest in learning chemistry.Keywords: Misconception, two-tier multiple choice, CRI, acid-base.
