Indonesian Journal of Elementary and Childhood Education (IJECE) merupakan jurnal ilmiah peer-reviewed yang didedikasikan sebagai platform diseminasi hasil pemikiran dan penelitian bagi mahasiswa, guru, dosen, praktisi, serta peneliti. Abstract

Early reading in early childhood is very important because it affects the improvement of reading skills in the future. The purpose of this study was to improve the initial reading ability of group B through the media of picture word cards. This classroom action research using Kurt Lewin's model was conducted in two cycles. The subjects in this study were 12 children in group B in Al-Mulk Islamic Kindergarten consisting of 4 boys and 8 girls. Data collection techniques in this study are observation and documentation. The research instrument used was an observation sheet in the form of a checklist. The indicator of success in this study is if the child experiences an increase in initial reading ability using picture word card media by 75% or with developing criteria as expected. The results of the study showed that the average value of each cycle increased. So it can be concluded that the initial reading ability of group B can be improved through the use of picture word cards.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the Influence of Mother Parenting Styles on the Independence of Children Aged 5-6 Years at  PGRI Kindergarten 5 of Mataram. The number of samples is 38, and the type of research used is a survey study utilizing a close-ended questionnaire and employing a Likert scale. The sample was selected using purposive sampling technique, consisting of 38 individuals. The data collection method involved distributing questionnaires. The data analysis method used in this study is descriptive statistical analysis. The results of the normality test showed a value of 0,200.The significance value is greater than 0,05, which leads to the conclusion that the residual values are normally distributed. It is observed that working mothers tend to apply the democratic parenting style, with the highest score of 2,905. A significant difference is seen in the authoritarian parenting style, where housewives reach a score of 2,867. Additionally, a quite striking difference is observed in the permissive parenting style, where working mothers show a higher score of 2,856 compared to housewives, who score 2,670. These differences may reflect the distinct roles and environments faced by working mothers and housewives. The significance value obtained from the software is less than 0,05, indicating that the maternal parenting style variable (X) significantly influences the child independence variable (Y). Meanwhile, based on the comparison of the t-test value and the t-table value, the t-test value is greater than the t-table value, which is 7,417 > 2,02809. Based on this, it can be concluded that there is an influence of the maternal parenting style (X) on the independence of children (Y) aged 5-6 years at PGRI Kindergarten 5 of Mataram.

Abstract

The problem of children's lack of creativity in drawing can be helped by using plants found in the surrounding environment, such as turmeric, young teak leaves, komak leaves, hibiscus flowers, horsewhip leaves, and grape stem charcoal. This research aims to increase children's drawing creativity through the use of plant media in Praya State KB Children's PAUD. This study used qualitative research methods. The subjects in this research were 10 students aged 5-6 years in group B at PAUD KB Anak Negeri Praya. Data collection techniques use observation, interviews and documentation. There are 20 observation instruments with discriptors. The data analysis used in this research is data analysis which consists of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The average on the first day was 64.88% in the starting to develop (MB) category, while the overall average of the children's drawing activity data on the second day was 89.63% in the very well developing (BSB) category. From the overall average data results, children's drawing activities on the second day experienced an increase. It was concluded that the use of plant media was proven to be able to develop the drawing creativity of children aged 5-6 years in PAUD KB Anak Negeri Praya, Central Lombok Regency.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the lack of initial reading skills of children in the B2 group at school. This research aims to analyze teacher creativity in improving the beginning reading skills of group B2 children at Mutiara Hati Kindergarten and this research also analyzes the inhibiting and supporting factors for teachers in improving the beginning reading abilities of group B2 children at Mutiara Hati Kindergarten. This research uses qualitative research with descriptive methods. Data collection techniques use observation, interviews and documentation. The data sources in this research were 3 teachers and 10 children from group B2. Based on the research results, it shows that teacher creativity in improving the beginning reading skills of children in group B2 with teacher achievement is 80% -88% which shows that teachers at Mutiara Hati Kindergarten have very good creativity with the teacher's efforts to create fun activities, teachers use varied learning methods and Teachers can carry out activities that attract children's attention. These efforts and methods can improve the initial reading ability of children in group B2, indicated by the child's development having developed very well and developing in line with expectations. The inhibiting factors for teacher creativity in improving the initial reading skills of B2 group children at Mutiara Hati Kindergarten are children's lack of focus, diverse children's characteristics, lack of support from parents. The supporting factors for teacher creativity in improving the initial reading skills of children in the B2 group at Mutiara Hati Kindergarten are teacher ability and school support.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the use of gadgets that continue to increase from year to year. The use of gadgets is not only used by adults but almost all circles including teenagers, children, and even toddlers have used gadgets in their daily lives. The tendency to excessive and inappropriate use of gadgets causes social interaction in children to be disrupted. This study aims to measure the effect of gadget use on social interaction of children aged 5-6 years in PAUD Mutiara Hati Mataram City. This research uses a type of quantitative research with ex-post facto methods. The sample used in this study was group B children in PAUD Mutiara Hati Mataram City, a total of 25 people. Sampling in this study uses saturated sampling, which is a sampling technique when all members of the population are used as samples using the Likert scale. Analytical techniques in the form of prerequisite tests, analysis and hypothesis tests. The analysis prerequisite tests include: normality test, homogeneity test, and linearity test. While the hypothesis test uses a linear regression test. The results of the hypothesis test show a p value (0.000) < 0.05 which means Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected, so it can be concluded that there is an influence between the use of gadgets on the social interaction of children aged 5-6 years in PAUD Mutiara Hati Mataram City. The influence between the use of gadgets and social interaction is positive, which means that the better or wiser the use of gadgets, the higher the child's social interaction and vice versa.

Abstract

Educational game tools are learning tools that can be used to develop various aspects of child development such as cognitive, language, physical-motor, artistic, and social-emotional development as well as children's religion and morals. Science in early childhood is a variety of things that can stimulate children to increase their curiosity, so as to bring up thoughts and actions such as observing, thinking, and linking between concepts or events. The purpose of this study is to identify educational game tools that can be used in developing simple science in early childhood in the Kayangan sub-district. This research uses a qualitative descriptive research type with a survey method. The research subjects consisted of 8 kindergarten educators. The results of this study indicate that there are six educational game tools that can be used in developing simple science in early childhood, namely five indoor APE including homemade compasses, APE mixing colors from food coloring, APE inflatable balloons, experiments to know the taste of kitchen ingredients, science experiments green beans, and cotton, as well as an outdoor APE, namely a slide. Based on the estimated time used, slides and color mixing APE are the most frequently used.

Abstract

Early childhood education (PAUD) is one of the educational institutions in Indonesia which has an important role to play in preparing superior generations as early as possible. students needed. This study aims to provide a more in-depth description of the identification analysis of educational game tools (APE) in developing simple science in early childhood. The results of this research ultimately obtained data that described the analysis of APE identification in developing early science in early childhood in Brang Rea District, West Sumbawa Regency, NTB. Based on the data obtained, it shows that there are as many as 6 types of APE that exist and are used to stimulate simple science in early childhood; there are 3 types of APE that are most dominantly used in stimulating simple science for early childhood; and as many as 4 types of APE which are dominantly suitable for use to stimulate early science in early childhood in Brang Rea District, West Sumbawa Regency.

Abstract

Educational Game Tools are all kinds of tools or objects used to play by early childhood that can stimulate aspects of development in children. The purpose of this study was to find out the APE of science used by teachers in developing simple science in early childhood in Pringgabaya Sub-district, East Lombok Regency. This type of research is survey research. The sample used in this research is 8 Kindergartens in Pringgabaya Sub-District with 23 respondents. Data collection methods used in this research are questionnaires, interviews, and documentation. As for the research results obtained, indoor APE which is often used by teachers in develoving simple science in early childhood in 8 Kindergartens of Pringgabaya Sub- District is 91,7% color mixing, and 69,9% inflatable balloon. While outdoor APE that is often used by teachers in develoving simple science in early childhood in Pringgabaya Sub-District is APE floating object, hovering, sinking 82,6%.

Abstract

Slow learner students experience many delays in the learning process because slow learners are a condition where children experience slow learning, skill, slowness in receiving information and slowness in capturing the teacher's explanations during the learning process. This research aims to determine the learning strategies of slow learner students in elementary schools by using a literature review method, namely by reading various journals and other publications related to research topics by collecting and taking core points from previous research. There were 15 articles used in this research obtained from Google Scholar. Based on the results of research conducted using the literature review method, learning strategies for slow learner students in elementary schools can be carried out by providing assistance or services to students in the form of; teaching method accommodation services, assignment and research accommodation services, time demands, learning environment and motivation for students to increase their interest in learning. So it can be concluded that learning strategies for slow learner students include; 1). Teacher strategies in classroom management with specifications and qualifications for changes in students' behavior and personality. 2). The teacher's strategy in treating slow learner students in regular classes is by placing slow learner students in the front row, rotating them by paying attention to the students' condition 3). Teacher strategy in giving assignments to slow learner students 4). Teacher strategies in motivating slow learner students.

Abstract

This literature review research aims to analyze findings from literature related to PjBL with a STEM approach in elementary schools. This research uses the descriptive content analysis study method. Analysis was carried out on international, national articles and similar sources related to PjBL with a STEM approach. This research was conducted to obtain a deeper understanding of the respective learning and implementation of PjBL with STEM at the basic education level. This learning is an effective solution to activate classroom learning. Project-based learning integrated with STEM in elementary schools has a positive impact on learning performance by encouraging hands-on learning, developing key skills such as collaboration and communication, and making learning interesting and relevant. This approach not only improves academic achievement but also prepares students to face future challenges and opportunities
