Indonesian Journal of Elementary and Childhood Education (IJECE) merupakan jurnal ilmiah peer-reviewed yang didedikasikan sebagai platform diseminasi hasil pemikiran dan penelitian bagi mahasiswa, guru, dosen, praktisi, serta peneliti. Jurnal ini berfokus pada pengembangan ilmu pengetahuan di bidang Pendidikan Dasar dan Pendidikan Anak Usia Dini (PAUD). Abstract

This research aims to improve discipline character through habituation methods in early childhood. This type of research is Classroom Action Research (PTK). The subjects of this research were 9 students from group A. The data collection methods used are observation and documentation. Data analysis techniques use qualitative descriptive and quantitative descriptive. The results of the research show that the habituation method can improve the discipline character of children. The research results after implementing the habituation method carried out by the teacher in cycle 1 obtained a percentage of 55.66%, including the good category, which then increased in cycle II with a percentage of 92% and was categorized as Very good. By increasing the application of the habituation method, the discipline character of group A in cycle 1 received a percentage of 60.56%, including the good category, and increased in cycle II to reach a percentage of 88.35% in the very good category, so that it had reached a success percentage of 85%. Based on the results of this research, it can be concluded that the application of the habituation method can improve the disciplinary character of children in group A of the Tanak Kaken Islamic Kindergarten.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the readiness of learning tools and learning supports in implementing the independent curriculum in PAUD cluster II, Pringgarata District. The type of research used is survey research. The population in this study were all PAUD institutions (KB and TK) in the Pringgarata sub-district totaling 56 institutions, while the sample in this study was 12 institutions with a sampling method using thenonprobability sampling. The data collection technique uses a questionnaire, with data analysis techniques in the form of descriptive quantitative data from the results of the questionnaire sheet. Based on the results of data analysis of the readiness of learning tools and learning supports, which consists of the availability of curriculum for implementing the Independent Curriculum (KOSP), the results were 66%, the availability of teaching modules 100%, and the availability of lesson plans 100%. Readiness to support learning in PAUD cluster II, Pringgarata sub-district already has learning support which includes the availability of school programs to improve good teacher competency with a percentage of 100%. From the results of the average percentage data above, it shows that the readiness of learning tools and learning support for implementing the independent curriculum in PAUD Cluster II, Pringgarata District, it is ready.

Abstract

Folk songs are one of the ancestral legacies that must be preserved, but over time folk songs have regressed. This study aims to identify the introduction of regional songs in learning in PAUD Sandubaya District, Mataram City so that they can find out what songs have been introduced in learning activities, what regional songs are dominantly used or sung and how to introduce regional songs by teachers to students in learning activities. The type of research used isurvey research with descriptive quantitative methods. The research subjects used were 9 PAUD teachers in Sandubaya District. The data collection methods used are observation methods, questionnaires and documentation. As for the type of analysis using percentages according to Arikunto. The results of this study found that PAUD teachers in Sandubaya District, Mataram City had introduced regional songs to students. The folk songs that have been introduced are: the song Inaq Tegining Amaq Teganang, Tunas Pamit, Kadal Nongaq, Kembang Mawar, Anak Kambing Saya, Ampar-ampar Pisang, Yamko Rambe Yamko, Awas Batur, Lampak-lampak, Bungong jeumpa, Kampuang Nan Jauh Dimato and the most dominant folk song introduced to students is the song Inaq Tegining Amaq Teganang with a frequency of answers of 89%. In the introduction of regional songs, there are several steps taken by teachers including: using media and methods, adjusting to the theme, introducing 1-3 songs for 1 semester, introducing songs to opening activities, istrahat and cultural saturdays, introducing songs repeatedly and explaining the meaning of regional songs.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the traditional foods that have been introduced, the dominant traditional foods introduced and the dominant traditional foods requested by children to be remade and to know the steps of introducing traditional foods. The population in this study amounted to 124 teachers with a sample of 12 PAUD teachers in Cakranegara District, Mataram City. This research is a survey research and uses data collection methods in the form of questionnaires and observation and data analysis techniques using the percentage formula. The results of this study indicate that traditional foods that have been introduced include plecing, satay bulayak, beberuk, cerorot, jaje opak, taliwang grilled chicken, klepon, spring rolls, getuk lindri, onde-onde and nagasari while the dominant ones introduced are plecing and klepon (66%) and the dominant ones asked by children to be remade are klepon (50%). The media used in the introduction is in the form of food or direct objects, visual and audio visual and the methods used are demonstration methods, direct practice and question and answer. The introduction of materials and tools is introduced by mentioning and explaining with the objects directly and the way of making is introduced by mentioning, explaining and direct practice as well as the provision of the necessary materials and tools provided by the school and most of the traditional foods are introduced several times during 1 year and most of them are introduced on Saturday week 3.

Abstract

This research aims to map the competency of PAUD teachers in Selaparang sub-district in 2024. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. The population is 109 teachers. The sampling technique is proportionate quota sampling with specifications for educational qualifications, certification and school accreditation. The sample consisted of 72 teachers. Data analysis uses 4 stages of Miles and Huberman model analysis, namely data collection, data reduction, data presentation, drawing conclusions and calculating using a presentation formula. The results of research from 72 teachers in the Selaparang sub-district area are 18.06% of teachers' pedagogical competence is in the very good category, 33.33% of their personality competence is in the very good category, 6.94% of their professional competence is in the very good category, and social competence is in their very good category with a very good category of 22.22%. 30.65% of undergraduate PAUD qualifications are in the very good category, 14.2% of non-PG PAUD are in the very good category, 25.00% are certified in the very good category, 33.53% are A accredited schools in the very good category and 33.53% are accredited schools B with a very good category of 19.20%. Pedagogical, personality, professional and social competencies are on average in the good category. For educational qualifications, certification and school accreditation the average is in the good category. Therefore, it is hoped that the competent authorities will provide guidance so that teachers are in the very good category of at least 85%.

Abstract

This study aims to highlight the role of Taekwondo extracurricular activities in enhancing the kinesthetic intelligence of early childhood. The method used in this study is a literature review, which involves collecting and analyzing data from various academic sources over the past seven years. Five articles were identified as primary studies from the search results. These articles were analyzed, and the findings were narrated to discuss the benefits of Taekwondo on kinesthetic intelligence. The results indicate that Taekwondo extracurricular activities play a significant role in improving motor skills, fostering positive psychological impacts, enhancing social development, and promoting physical fitness in early childhood. These findings provide a foundation for developing extracurricular programs to support the holistic growth of children. The practical implications of this study underscore the importance of integrating physical activities such as Taekwondo into early childhood education curricula to maximize children's potential and develop their kinesthetic intelligence. This study highlights the importance of integrating Taekwondo into early childhood education to optimize their kinesthetic intelligence potential.

Abstract

This study aims to develop an educational game "Spinning Wheel" that is effective in improving the language development of group B children at PAUD Semai Harapan Bangsa Mataram. Language development is an important aspect in the growth and development of early childhood, and the use of interactive game media is believed to be an interesting and effective approach. The use of games in the learning process to improve children's language development shows several aspects that have increased. One of them is the ability to tell stories, where children will tell what they see and what they feel after using the game. The research method used is Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) development model. The subjects of the study were 8 children in group B who were selected randomly. The research instruments used were language ability tests, observation sheets, and child response questionnaires. The results of the study showed that the educational game "Spinning Wheel" had been successfully developed and validated by media experts and material experts. Field trials showed a significant increase in children's language skills after using this game. Children also showed high enthusiasm and interest while playing. The children's response questionnaire revealed that they felt happy and motivated to learn through the "Spinning Wheel" game. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the educational game "Spinning Wheel" is an effective learning media to improve the language development of children in group B. This game can be used as an alternative to fun and interactive learning activities at PAUD Semai Harapan Bangsa Mataram.

Abstract

This research aims to develop an effective, feasible, and practical educational counting game (counting object) media to enhance the numeracy skills of 5-6-year-old children at TK Jannatul Adni Aikmel Timur. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) methodology with the ADDIE development model, consisting of five stages: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The research subjects were 10 children aged 5- 6 years at TK Jannatul Adni. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation. The results showed that the educational counting game (counting object) media was effective in improving the numeracy skills of 5-6-year-old children at TK Jannatul Adni Aikmel Timur. This was evident in the results of the media trials with children, where the first development stage achieved a percentage of 76.25%, and the second development stage achieved a percentage of 92%. Therefore, the educational counting game (counting object) media is effective in enhancing early childhood numeracy skills. The media was also declared feasible by media and material experts and deemed practical for use by teachers and children.

Abstract

The counting object educational game is an example of an educational medium that can be utilized in learning, particularly to stimulate children's numeracy skills. Although similar media already exist, this research develops a more innovative, feasible, practical, and effective counting object educational game to enhance the numeracy skills of early childhood learners. This study aims to produce an educational game medium that can be optimally applied in teaching and learning. The method used is Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE model, which consists of five stages: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The data sources for this study are children aged 4–5 years in group A, with a total of 10 children. Data collection techniques include observation, documentation, and questionnaires, with descriptive qualitative data analysis. The results of the study indicate that the developed counting object educational game is effective in improving the numeracy skills of early childhood learners after being tested with children and evaluated by media and content experts. Furthermore, satisfaction assessments of this medium show positive responses. The implication of this research is that the developed counting object educational game can be used as an effective alternative to support the development of children's numeracy skills in a learning context.

Abstract

This study aimed to measure the effect of using mind map learning media on the critical thinking skills of early childhood children, as well as to analyze the differences in critical thinking skills before and after the implementation of mind map learning media. This study employed a pre-experimental research design with a pretest-posttest on one experimental group consisting of group B children at TK Negeri 1 Labuapi. Data on children's critical thinking skills were collected through observation and documentation, then analyzed using the N-Gain test and hypothesis testing to determine the effectiveness level of using mind maps. The results showed a significant effect of using mind map learning media on improving the critical thinking skills of early childhood children, evidenced by an average N-Gain value of 0.72, indicating a high level of effectiveness and significant hypothesis test results (p < 0.05). Furthermore, there was a significant difference between the pretest and posttest results, reinforcing this finding. Thus, mind map learning media has an impact on the critical thinking skills of early childhood children. Therefore, it is recommended to implement this media more widely in the learning process at the early childhood education level to create a more interactive, enjoyable, and meaningful learning experience for children.
