Abstract

Abstract: Physics learning should be able to provide opportunities for learners to be creative in understanding the things that learned. One of the efforts made to improve the quality of physics learning was to apply the model of project based learning with virtual media. This study aimed to examine the effect of virtual media-aided model toward students’ creativity. This quasi experimental study used pretest-posttest control group design. The research instrument used a verbal and figural creativity test which had been validated by experts. Hypothesis test used employed variance test. The increase in creativity was determined based on the results of the N-gain test. The results showed that there was an increase of students' creativity in both classes. The experiment class had a higher creativity increase than the control class. Verbal and figural creativity improved in both classes. Verbal creativity increased higher than figural creativity. This shows that the model of project based learning with virtual media that applied successfully improve the students’ creativity in physics learning.EFEKTIVITAS PENERAPAN MODEL PROJECT BASED LEARNING BERBANTUAN MEDIA VIRTUAL TERHADAP KREATIVITAS FISIKA PESERTA DIDIK Abstrak: Pembelajaran fisika seharusnya mampu memberikan peluang bagi peserta didik untuk berkreasi dalam memahami hal yang dipelajari. Salah satu upaya yang dilakukan untuk meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran fisika adalah dengan menerapkan model project based learning berbantuan media virtual. Penelitian ini bertujuan menguji pengaruh model berbantuan media virtual terhadap kreativitas peserta didik. Penelitian kuasi eksperimen ini menggunakan pretest-posttest control group design. Instrumen penelitian menggunakan tes kreativitas verbal dan figural yang telah divalidasi oleh para ahli. Uji hipotesis menggunakan uji t polled varian. Peningkatan kreativitas ditentukan berdasarkan hasil uji N-gain. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan kreativitas peserta didik pada kedua kelas. Kelas eksperimen mengalami peningkatan kreativitas yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelas kontrol. Kreativitas verbal dan figural mengalami peningkatan pada kedua kelas. Kreativitas verbal meningkat lebih tinggi dibandingkan kreativitas figural. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa model project based learning berbantuan media virtual yang diterapkan berhasil meningkatkan kreativitas peserta didik dalam pembelajaran fisika.

Abstract

Learning physics should be able to provide an understanding physics of abstract concepts. One of the efforts being made to improve the learning of Physics is to use appropriate learning model. This study aims to improve the student’s conceptual understanding by using project based learning model with virtual media for X Grade student at SMAN 2 Mataram Years 2015/2016. This study was conducted using a type of quasi-experimental research, untreated control group design with pretest and posttest on Optic. Hypothesis test results that the model used to give effect to the  student’s conceptual understanding, was shown to increase student conceptual understanding was higher in the experimental class compared with the control class. N-gain test results stating that the conceptual understanding has increased in each sub material. The results of the analysis conceptual understanding score on every aspect of cognitive increased.

Abstract

Improving the quality of education is done by improving the quality of learning devices. Learning devices are important to facilitate students' conceptual understanding and creativity. Utilization of information technology such as the use of learning management systems (LMS) can make learning effective. The final goal of this research is to produce LMS tools in mechanics courses that are feasible to use and can improve students' conceptual understanding and creativity. This study is a research and development using a 4-D model consisting of 4 stages of define, design, develop, and disseminate. The validity test was conducted by 3 expert lecturers and it was concluded that the device developed was suitable for use. Expert assessment on learning devices is reliable, which means there are no significant differences in each assessment. Criticisms and suggestions given are used as material for revision/improvement so that learning devices are obtained that are intact and ready to be used for learning.

Abstract

One of the ways to use technology in education is in the assessment process, namely e-assessment. E-assessment is a system designed to make the process more effective and efficient in terms of time, funds and assessment achievements. In this study, an e-assessment has been developed which is oriented towards students understanding. The purpose of this research is to determine the effectiveness of using e-assessment on students understanding. The research method used was a quasi-experimental in the pretest posttest group design. Students understanding data were obtained from a multiple-choice test with 25 questions related to the concept of mechanics. The data obtained were analyzed for the increase with the gain normalization equation. The results obtained indicate that the developed e-assessment model can improve students understanding with the medium improvement category. The increase in students' understanding of concept in the cognitive aspects of C1, C2 and C3 was in the high category of increase and aspects of C4, C5, and C6 increased with the category of moderate improvement.

Abstract

Problem-solving is a high-level ability to find solution to a problem. In the problem-solving process, students have to identify and understand the problems, plan the solutions, execute the plans and review the resolution process. This ability is needed by students to produce meaningful knowledge. This article discusses the effect of virtual labs in physics learning toward student’s problem-solving abilities. The improvement of problem-solving skills was analyzed in each step of the solution process. This quasi-experimental study was conducted at three different senior high schools. There were 165 students participating in this study, all of whom were divided into three experimental groups and three control groups. The research instrument used was five to eight questions of essay test. The results showed that the problem-solving ability of the experimental group was higher than that of the control group at each school. The analysis of each problem-solving step showed that, in each school, the students' ability to identify and define the problem and also to establish goals and objectives show a similar result. Students have an excellent ability in identifying problem up to plan for problem-solving, whereas for the step of analyzing the choice of ideas and step to follow up of problem-solving overall still need to be improved. Students who are unable to complete a particular problem-solving step will not be able to complete the next step well.

Abstract

Publikasi karya ilmiah merupakan salah satu tuntutan dalam pengembangan profesi tenaga pendidik.  Keterbatasan kemampuan maupun kendala teknis lainnya bagi guru dalam menulis artikel ilmiah berimplikasi pada pengembangan karier dan jenjang kepangkatannya. Tujuan kegiatan ini adalah meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan guru IPA dalam menulis hingga mengirim naskah ke jurnal tujuan. Peserta diberikan pelatihan dan pendampingan secara intensif mulai dari pelatihan kemampuan dasar menulis artikel ilmiah hingga bimbingan teknis untuk submit ke jurnal tujuan dan revisi naskah hingga terpublikasi. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini akan dilaksanakan dalam beberapa tahapan, yaitu 1) Koordinasi dengan semua pihak terkait; 2) Pelatihan tentang penulisan pada jurnal; 3) Pendampingan dalam penulisan dan pengiriman artikel secara online; 4) Focus group discussion pada beberapa masalah yang terjadi, solusi dan rencana tindak lanjutnya. Pada tahap ini juga dilakukan evaluasi kegiatan secara menyeluruh. Setelah mengikuti kegiatan ini, peserta memiliki pengetahuan tentang pembuatan karya, membuat pertimbangan dalam memilih jurnal tujuan, membuat draft artikel sesuai panduan jurnal yang dituju, memanfaatkan tools dan program untuk mendukung dan memudahkan penulisan, serta mengirimkan artikel secara online.

Abstract

This research aims to conduct a literature review on the integration of the Discovery Learning Model, SASAMBO Local Cultural Character, and problem solving skills in teaching basic science concepts at the elementary level. The research method used in this study involves a literature review analysis of relevant scientific articles selected based on certain criteria relevant to the objectives of this research. In this literature review, researchers analyzed five relevant scientific articles that discuss this approach. The results of the literature review show that the integration of the Discovery Learning Model in science learning is effective in increasing student involvement, stimulating interest in learning, and deepening understanding of scientific concepts. Apart from that, the integration of SASAMBO's Local Cultural Character also has a positive impact by increasing students' relevance and motivation towards science learning. The integration of problem-solving skills also helps students develop important critical, analytical, and creative skills. Nonetheless, challenges in implementing this integration, such as teacher training and sensitivity to students' cultural context, need to be addressed through continued research and collaboration between educational stakeholders. By optimizing the implementation of this integration, it is hoped that it can create a dynamic and inclusive learning environment, which empowers students to achieve success in science and their future lives.

Abstract

This research aims to explore the responses of prospective elementary school teachers to training in developing Android-based educational games as an innovative learning tool. By distributing questionnaires to 121 prospective elementary school teachers in NTB, this research identified the needs, interests, motivations and challenges faced in participating in the training. The research results show that prospective elementary school teachers show a high interest in using educational games as a learning tool, but prospective elementary school teachers face challenges related to technical skills and integration in the curriculum. These findings provide important insights for training providers in designing programs that better suit the needs of prospective teachers, as well as highlighting the importance of continued support for the development of skills in using technology in education.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the understanding of basic concepts of Natural Sciences in prospective elementary school teachers by paying attention to gender differences. This research uses a quantitative approach with a survey method. Data is obtained through assessing the average score in four main materials: work and energy, moments of force and simple planes, ecosystems, and substances and their changes. The number of respondents in this study was 51 prospective elementary school teachers, consisting of 8 male and 43 female. The instrument used in this research is a multiple choice test. The research results show that there are significant variations between male and female teacher candidates. Male teacher candidates excel in material on work and energy as well as substances and their changes, while female teacher candidates show better performance in material on moments of force and simple planes and ecosystems.
