Abstract

In line with the rapid advancement of technology, the use of devices, especially smartphones, among young children is increasing. This study aims to examine the effects of device use on the social-emotional development of children aged 2-6 years in South Gelogor Village, West Lombok Regency. The method used in the study was descriptive qualitative by conducting observations and interviews with 9 respondents, consisting of 5 children and 4 parents. The results indicate that the use of the device has positive effects such as making it easier for parents to deal with fussy children and improving children's language skills through educational viewing. However, negative effects include device addiction, reduced social interaction, and increased tantrum behavior. Parents have an important role in controlling the use of devices, by limiting time and supervising, to maximize the positive effects and minimize the negative effects. This study recommends the need for close supervision of children's device use, as well as the importance of selecting appropriate content to support optimal social-emotional development.

Abstract

This study aims to understand the role of parental communication patterns in shaping children's character. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, the research involved five pairs of parents and five children as the main subjects. Data were collected through observation and in-depth interviews and analyzed thematically through reduction, presentation, and conclusion-drawing stages. The findings reveal that effective communication, such as open interaction, attentive dialogue, and providing examples of positive behavior, plays a crucial role in shaping children's character, including empathy, responsibility, and openness. Conversely, minimal communication patterns, such as neglect or lack of quality time, tend to trigger negative behaviors in children, such as disobedience and social isolation. This study highlights the vital role of parents in establishing healthy and consistent communication patterns as the foundation for shaping children's personality. Moreover, the findings offer practical insights to help families enhance the quality of their daily interactions. Thus, this research not only emphasizes the importance of positive communication patterns but also encourages further exploration of external factors, such as social environments or technology, that may influence family communication dynamics.

Abstract

The life of every human being must go through a period of development which includes social, cognitive, interest and moral aspects, starting from infancy, childhood, adolescence and old age. Along with this development, the role of the family environment greatly determines whether or not a child reaches this stage of development. Because the family is the first and foremost education for children, especially in forming the basics of their personality. This research examines "the role of parents in shaping children's morals". This research is library research, data analysis was carried out using content analysis, which covers three aspects of moral development, namely moral views, moral feelings and moral behavior. From the research results, it was concluded that the role of parents in developing children's morals is first by introducing the moral values that apply in society and involving children in a discussion of moral dilemmas. The two roles of parents in developing moral feelings are by instilling a loving attitude, arousing feelings of guilt, implementing disciplinary parenting and strengthening conscience. Meanwhile, the third role of parents in developing children's moral behavior is by strengthening altruistic behavior, providing models and implementing discipline.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the concept and benefits of Early Childhood Education (ECE) curricula using a literature review method. Data were gathered from relevant national and international journal articles published within the last ten years, focusing on play-based curricula and holistic learning approaches. The findings indicate that an effective ECE curriculum is designed to support children's comprehensive development, encompassing cognitive, socio-emotional, physical, and moral aspects. Play-based approaches such as multimodal play and serious games have been shown to stimulate creativity, collaboration, and intrinsic motivation. Additionally, nature-based activities promote motor skill development and environmental awareness, while moral and cultural values shape children's character from an early age. The Kurikulum Merdeka, with its freedom-to-learn concept, facilitates exploration and supports 21st-century skills. This study underscores the importance of a holistic approach to ECE curricula in building a strong foundation for optimal child development.

Abstract

Blended learning is a learning model that integrates online and face-to-face learning to create a flexible and interactive learning experience. This article examines the application of blended learning in science education through the descriptive content analysis study method. This method describes the findings of various relevant scientific articles, analyzes the relationship between these findings, and identifies the principles of the blended learning model. Data were obtained from articles published in national and international journals, then identified, described, and analyzed to provide an in-depth picture of the implementation of blended learning in science learning in elementary schools. The literature review results show that blended learning can improve students' conceptual understanding, critical thinking skills, and learning motivation in science learning. Combining online learning through virtual simulations and digital experiments with face-to-face learning enriches students' learning experiences. However, the success of implementing this model depends on the readiness of infrastructure, teacher skills, and balanced learning design. This article concludes that blended learning has great potential to improve the quality of science learning in elementary schools, provided that existing challenges can be overcome.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the application of learning theory in learning and its implications for student's abilities and learning outcomes. The type of research used in this research is qualitative research, which uses the literature review or literature study method. Data collection techniques are carried out by searching for sources and constructing them from various sources, such as books, journals, and research that has been carried out previously. Primary research data comes from data directly related to the predetermined theme and can come from appropriate journal studies. In general, the results of the research show that: 1) The application of behaviorism learning theory can have an influence on learning which becomes focused and structured, 2) The application of cognitiveism learning theory shows that this learning theory can help students to improve their understanding of concepts, both in learning mathematics or other. Apart from that, the application of this learning theory can also help teachers to increase student activity in class, so that teachers do not play a full role in providing knowledge/information, but involve student activity in learning and 3) Constructivist learning theory, has an influence on students' critical thinking abilities so that they can improve the learning outcomes achieved. Learning that takes place in class becomes more effective.
