Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine how to optimize the circular economy in the seafood processing industry in East Java. The circular economy is a complex concept, but it is essential to understand if we want to build a more sustainable future in coastal areas. How can applying appropriate technology to the processing of mussels as a processed seafood product become a circular economy campaign to increase ecopreneurship among MSMEs living around coastal areas and strengthen the competitiveness of MSME products in coastal areas? This research was conducted using a quantitative approach, with data collected through the distribution of questionnaires and interviews. This study uses Smart PLS as a testing tool and analyzes it both theoretically and practically to obtain the right solution. The research object is located in Sidoarjo, East Java. Primary and secondary data are the data sources used. The data collection method uses a Likert scale questionnaire. The variables studied: X1 implementation of a circular economy, X2 service quality, price as a mediator variable Z, and customer loyalty as a variable Y. The purpose of this study is to determine the effects of applying a circular economy on Service Quality and Customer Loyalty, with Price as an intervening factor. This study used a survey method, which gathers information by compiling a list of statements from respondents. In survey research, researchers examine the nature or causal relationships of variables without intervening. The results showed that implementing a circular economy in the processing of Kupang clams significantly affects customer loyalty, both directly and indirectly. Therefore, maritime seafood industry players should improve the circular economy in their production processes. Meanwhile, service quality and price also significantly influence customer loyalty.

Abstract

The digitalization of health services has transformed the relationship between patients, health professional, health care facilities, and electronic system providers through telemedicine, electronic medical records, health applications, and digital medical data management. Although these innovations improve access, efficiency, and flexibility in health care delivery, they also create legal challeges, particularly medical data breaches and potential malpractice in telemedicine services. This study aims to analyze the legal regulation of patient medical data protection and telemedicine services in Indonesia, and to examine the construction of criminal liability for medical data breaches and telemedicine malpractice as a form of patient rights protection. This research uses a normative juridical method with statutory, conceptual, and case approaches. The findings show that the regulation of digital health services in Indonesia remains dispersed across several legal regimes, including health law, personal data protection law, electronic information and transaction law, and medical records regulation. Criminal liability cannot be imposed merely because harm occurs; it must be based on proof of an unlawful act, fault, causation, and patient harm. This study concludes that regulatory harmonization, clear telemedicine standards, secure electronic medical record management, and proportional criminal law enforcement are necessary to protect patient rights without obstructing innovation in digital health services.

Abstract

The postpartum period is the six-week recovery period for the uterine organs after childbirth. A common phenomenon is discomfort due to perineal rupture, experienced by approximately 83% of women giving birth in Indonesia. Perineal pain can hinder early mobilization, disrupt rest patterns, and impede mother-infant interaction. Data from Salatiga Regional Hospital (2024-2025) recorded 634 cases of spontaneous labor with perineal wound pain. This scientific paper aims to describe the management of postpartum discomfort using non-pharmacological pain management (cold compresses). The researchers used a descriptive case study method to address the nursing problem of postpartum discomfort. The case subjects were women who spontaneously underwent postpartum labor experiencing perineal wound pain. The chosen intervention was cold compress, a form of skin stimulation is using low temperatures to produce analgesic effects, reduce edema, and stimulate endorphin release. Implementation was carried out for three days to reduce pain levels as measured by the Numeric Rating Scale (NRS). Previous research has shown that cold compress therapy can significantly reduce pain intensity from moderate (scale 4) to no pain (scale 0). Cold compresses were more effective in reducing pain than the control group that did not receive cold compresses. It is recommended that the public, especially postpartum mothers, independently apply cold compresses as an inexpensive and easy method to reduce perineal pain. Healthcare institutions are expected to use the results of this study as a source of information to improve the quality of maternity nursing services through non-pharmacological methods that are safe for both mother and baby.

Abstract

Preschool children are those aged 3 to 6 years. At this stage, their immune systems are not yet fully developed, making them more susceptible to health problems that may require hospitalization. Hospitalization often triggers anxiety due to separation from parents, invasive medical procedures that cause pain, and disruption of daily routines. If left unmanaged, anxiety may hinder the healing process and prolong the length of hospitalization. This case study aims to describe the nursing management of anxiety in a hospitalized preschool child through coloring play therapy. A descriptive case-study design was employed using the nursing care approach, comprising assessment, nursing diagnosis, intervention, implementation, and evaluation. Data were collected through interviews and observation, using a nursing assessment format and the Spence Children's Anxiety Scale (SCAS) questionnaire completed by the parent to measure the child's anxiety level. Coloring play therapy was provided for 20–30 minutes per session over three consecutive days to a preschool child experiencing anxiety during hospitalization for bronchopneumonia. After three days of nursing care, the results demonstrated a gradual reduction in the child's anxiety score, from 55 (severe) on day one to 39 (moderate) on day two and 15 (mild) on day three. The child appeared calmer, more cooperative, and better able to adapt to the hospital environment, indicating that the anxiety problem was successfully managed. It can be concluded that coloring play therapy is an effective nursing intervention for reducing anxiety in hospitalized preschool children. Nurses and families are encouraged to apply this activity to stimulate children's cognitive ability and fine motor skills, particularly during hospitalization.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effects of strategic alliances and service quality on business performance, with customer satisfaction serving as a mediating variable. The research focuses on pharmacies located in Tembalang and Pedurungan Districts. The population consisted of pharmacists responsible for pharmacy operations, and a total of 101 respondents were included in the study. Data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) to examine both direct and indirect relationships among the variables. The results show that strategic alliances and service quality have significant positive effects on customer satisfaction. Strategic alliances also have a significant direct effect on business performance. In contrast, service quality does not directly influence business performance but affects it indirectly through customer satisfaction. Furthermore, customer satisfaction plays a significant mediating role in strengthening the relationship between service quality and business performance. These findings indicate that pharmacy businesses can improve performance by developing effective strategic partnerships and consistently enhancing service quality to increase customer satisfaction. Therefore, customer satisfaction represents an important mechanism through which managerial strategies and service improvements contribute to stronger and more sustainable business performance.

Abstract

Non Hemorrhagic stroke is a neurological condition caused by obstruction of cerebral blood vessels, resulting in impaired nerve function and decreased physical mobility. Patients commonly experience muscle weakness, limited joint movement, and reduced ability to perform activities of daily living. This case study aimed to describe the nursing care provided to a patient with non-hemorrhagic stroke who experienced impaired physical mobility. A qualitative case study approach was applied. Data were obtained through interviews, observations, physical examinations, and documentation review. Nursing care was implemented over three days following the nursing process, including assessment, nursing diagnosis, intervention, implementation, and evaluation. Assessment findings revealed right-sided hemiparesis, leading to the nursing diagnosis of impaired physical mobility. Nursing interventions included mobilization support, Range of Motion (ROM) exercises, and education with demonstrations of passive ROM techniques for the patient's family. Evaluation showed an improvement in muscle strength from Manual Muscle Testing (MMT) grade 0 to grade 2, although the mobility problem had not been fully resolved. In addition, the family was able to understand and independently perform passive ROM exercises. Regular and continuous ROM exercises involving family participation are recommended to enhance the patient's physical mobility and reduce the risk of complications associated with prolonged immobilization.

Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), especially micro-scale coffee shops, face various challenges in maintaining business continuity amidst increasingly fierce competition and dynamic business environments. This study aims to analyze the effect of Entrepreneurial Orientation on Business Continuity Performance with Resourcefulness Architect as a mediating variable in micro-scale coffee shops in Central Java Province. The study uses a quantitative explanatory approach with the Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) method. Data were collected through distributing questionnaires to 184 micro-scale coffee shop owners selected using a purposive sampling technique. The results show that Entrepreneurial Orientation has a positive and significant effect on Resourcefulness Architect and Business Continuity Performance. In addition, Resourcefulness Architect also has a positive and significant effect on Business Continuity Performance and is proven to partially mediate the relationship between Entrepreneurial Orientation and Business Continuity Performance. These findings indicate that the ability of entrepreneurs to creatively manage, combine, and utilize resources is an important mechanism that strengthens the influence of entrepreneurial orientation on business sustainability. This research contributes to the development of the literature on Business Continuity Performance through the integration of the Resource-Based View, Resource Orchestration Theory, and Dynamic Capabilities Theory perspectives, and provides practical implications for MSMEs in strengthening their entrepreneurial orientation and resource management capabilities to increase business resilience.

Abstract

This study develops a Circulatory Philanthropy Theory, a theoretical extension of Islamic monetary thought positioning Islamic philanthropy (sadaqah, zakat, waqf) as complementary non-commercial channels of wealth circulation within riba-free monetary frameworks. Using sequential mixed-methods, document-based grounded analysis of classical Islamic scholarship to construct theory, followed by panel VAR econometrics for 10 OIC countries (2012–2022, N=110), the framework conceptualizes philanthropic instruments as differentiated temporal mechanisms: sadaqah as a short-run catalyst, zakat as a medium-run stabilizer, and waqf as a long-run productive anchor. Impulse Response Function (IRF) analysis reveals immediate positive GDP responses to philanthropic shocks (Sadaqah: 0.27 percentage points, Zakat: 0.19, Waqf: 0.27 at period 0), followed by mean-reverting dynamics consistent with temporary demand-side effects. Forecast Error Variance Decomposition (FEVD) shows that waqf explains 40.2% of GDP variance at period 2, exhibiting a U-shaped pattern (95% → 1.9% → 40.2%) that supports its dual character as both immediate activator and sustained structural determinant, outperforming transitory transfers (sadaqah/zakat: <2% by period 2). Negative velocity responses suggest institutional intermediation lags and precautionary saving among recipients. Panel Granger causality indicates income-driven endogeneity (GDP → Sadaqah, p=0.050), implying circulation effectiveness depends on institutional capacity. Findings provide qualified empirical support that Islamic philanthropic instruments can exert meaningful macroeconomic influence when institutionally supported, though effectiveness remains conditional on country-specific governance and digital disbursement infrastructure. The study contributes a novel theoretical framework and preliminary panel evidence that philanthropic flows are analytically tractable as macro-level circulation and stabilization mechanisms.

Abstract

Patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) undergoing hemodialysis face prolonged biopsychosocial and existential burdens due to their lifelong dependence on renal replacement therapy. Amid physical limitations, changes in social roles, and the constant threat of death, many patients actually rediscover the meaning of life through processes of self-transcendence, spirituality, and existential adaptation. This article presents a narrative review to explore how the ontology of life’s meaning and self-transcendence is shaped within the phenomenological experiences of hemodialysis patients. A comprehensive literature search was conducted across three main databases: PubMed, Scopus, and SpringerLink, utilizing the Population, Concept, Context (PCC) framework supplemented by a PRISMA flow diagram. Given the exploratory nature of this narrative review, formal methodological quality appraisal (e.g., JBI Critical Appraisal Tools) was not applied. Fifteen key articles published between 2022 and 2026, employing qualitative and phenomenological designs, were analyzed thematically. The results revealed four major themes: biographical disruption and existential alienation; spirituality and religious coping as anchors of meaning; self-transcendence through altruism and hope; and the paradox of time and long-term psychosocial adaptation. The discussion situates the findings within the frameworks of Heidegger’s phenomenology and Frankl’s logotherapy, demonstrating that the meaning of life for hemodialysis patients constitutes an ontological reconstruction of self-existence in the face of bodily limitations and clinical time. The conclusion emphasizes the need for a nursing approach oriented toward strengthening the spiritual-existential dimension.

Abstract

The increasing volume of misinformation, disinformation, and AI-generated content has reshaped how information is produced, shared, and consumed, creating new challenges for education in the post-truth era. Students are expected not only to access information but also to evaluate its credibility, interpret evidence, and make responsible decisions in increasingly complex digital environments. Despite this need, literacy instruction in Indonesia has largely focused on reading comprehension, with limited attention to integrating scientific reasoning, social responsibility, and contextual understanding. This paper explores the potential of the Scientific, Social, and Contextual (SSC) Framework as a conceptual approach to preparing Indonesian students for these emerging challenges while contributing to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Adopting a conceptual literature review, the study draws on recent scholarship concerning post-truth, critical literacy, scientific literacy, digital citizenship, AI literacy, contextual learning, and education for sustainable development. The review suggests that the SSC Framework offers a holistic perspective by combining evidence-based reasoning, ethical and collaborative engagement, and contextual problem-solving. These interconnected dimensions can strengthen students' critical literacy, digital resilience, and capacity to respond thoughtfully to misleading information and AI-generated content. The paper contributes a conceptual foundation for integrating the SSC Framework into curriculum design, teaching practices, and future educational research. By promoting critical, responsible, and sustainable learning, the framework supports the development of competencies aligned with SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
