Abstract

The dead branch drain became a problem in the rectangular culvert project carried out by the Malang City Government because water could not flow properly from the paved road into the drainage system. This condition caused weed growth, urine odor, puddles after rain, sand accumulation that could make motorcycle tires slip, and muddy sidewalks that endangered pedestrians. The aim of this community service was to channel water from the rectangular culvert to the branch drain and allow rainwater on the paved road to enter the drain through a grating cover. The methods included discussions with the Head of RW 06, RT 03 residents, and Taman Kusuma 2 Housing residents, determining the design, installing embankments in the control basin, and installing a 20 cm cylindrical culvert beneath the PDAM pipe. The results showed that the drainage system functioned effectively in reducing weeds, odors, puddles, and dirt accumulation, creating synergy between Malang State Polytechnic and the community in building a clean, healthy, and beautiful environment.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of the digital economy has intensified competitive pressures on small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), making the adoption of digital marketing strategies essential for sustaining brand visibility and market relevance. STELLA, a local Balinese fashion brand specializing in summer lifestyle apparel, represents a common challenge among SMEs that have yet to leverage digital media optimally. This community service program was designed to enhance STELLA's brand awareness and digital competency through a structured, three-stage intervention: (1) planning, comprising a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) and field observation to assess the partner's baseline digital condition; (2) implementation, encompassing digital marketing training, official website development, and Instagram content mentoring; and (3) monitoring and evaluation, guided by measurable key performance indicators. Data were gathered through direct observation, Instagram Insights analytics, and a usability questionnaire. Quantitative analysis was employed to assess follower growth, content impressions, and organic engagement rates, while website usability was evaluated using the System Usability Scale (SUS) and Black Box Testing. The program yielded significant improvements: the Instagram account @stellabaliwear grew from 20 to 66 followers, with posts increasing from 2 to 12 and reaching 404 impressions, alongside a 90% increase in organic engagement. The official website attained a SUS score of 77.92 (Good category), with all 19 functional features successfully validated. These findings affirm that systematic and sustainable digital marketing assistance is an effective and replicable model for accelerating SME digital transformation in the context of Indonesia's growing digital economy.

Abstract

This community service activity aimed to promote language politeness among elementary school children at AM Educenter Reading Park, Depok. Language politeness is an important aspect in developing effective communication skills and fostering positive attitudes in daily interactions. The methods employed in this program were lectures and discussions using a pragmatic teaching approach. Learning media in the form of pictures were utilized to support the teaching process and to suit the characteristics of elementary school students. The results showed that the participants gained knowledge and practical experience regarding the use of polite language in various communication contexts. Furthermore, the children were able to apply polite language when interacting with peers, younger children, and older people. Their ability to use polite language was also reflected in writing activities. In addition, the program increased the participants’ motivation to consistently use polite language in everyday life. As a result, the activity successfully fostered positive language attitudes and improved the communication skills of elementary school children in accordance with language politeness norms. Therefore, community-based language education can serve as an effective strategy to strengthen children’s communication competence and social interaction skills.

Abstract

This community service program was motivated by parents’ limited understanding of early signs of speech delay and the importance of language stimulation during early childhood. The program aimed to improve mothers’ knowledge, skills, and awareness in supporting their children’s language development. The method used was a participatory educational approach based on community empowerment through interactive lectures, discussions, question-and-answer sessions, and experience sharing. The participants were 20 mothers of students at PAUD Hidayatul Mubtadiin, Malang Regency. Program evaluation was conducted through participatory observation, documentation, and participant feedback. The results showed an increase in participants’ understanding of child language development stages and early indicators of speech delay. A total of 90% of participants reported that the material was easy to understand, 80% actively participated in discussions, and 75% were able to practice simple language stimulation techniques such as read-aloud activities and interactive communication. In addition, positive changes in parental attitudes and stronger social support among participants were observed. This educational program proved effective as a preventive effort to optimize early childhood language development.

Abstract

The Karang Mumus River (SKM) in Samarinda, East Kalimantan, has experienced significant ecological degradation due to domestic waste, industrial effluents, and encroachment on its riparian buffer zone. This community service activity was conducted on May 10, 2026, at Pangkalan Pungut Sekolah Sungai Karang Mumus (SeSuKaMu) involving 30 graduate students of the Master of Management Program, Universitas Muhammadiyah Kalimantan Timur (UMKT). The activity comprised two main components: (1) planting 20 seedlings of four fruit-tree species (petai, cempedak, durian, and mango) along the riverbank; and (2) an environmental education session facilitated by Pak Wisman, founder of SeSuKaMu, covering key ecological concepts including the distinction between canal and river, forest and garden, plant and crop, as well as anthropocentric versus ecocentric perspectives and watershed (DAS) management. Participants demonstrated increased awareness of ecological literacy and expressed commitment to advocating river conservation in their communities. This activity demonstrates that campus–community collaboration through service-learning is an effective approach to ecological restoration and public environmental education.

Abstract

AAccess to clean water is a basic human right. However, many people, especially in rural areas, still struggle to obtain clean water. Seeing this situation, we feel compelled to participate in efforts to improve the quality of life of the community through water pipe maintenance assistance activities. The assistance activities carried out in Juma Kancil Hamlet, Onan Lama Village, Pegagan Hilir District, Dairi Regency aim to provide the community with an understanding of the importance of maintaining cleanliness and maintaining water pipes so that they can function properly for a long time. Water pipe maintenance assistance for the community has the main goal of ensuring the availability of quality clean water on a sustainable basis. In addition, the objectives of this activity are: Increase public awareness of the importance of maintaining cleanliness and maintaining water pipes; Provide knowledge and skills to the community on how to properly maintain water pipes, from detecting damage to simple repairs; Form groups or communities for clean water management at the community level to ensure the sustainability of pipe maintenance; Prevent further pipe damage to reduce repair costs and water supply disruptions; Improve the community's quality of life by providing safe and healthy clean water. Abstract

Organic waste management in rural areas remains a problem that requires serious attention due to the low utilization of simple technology in processing household and agricultural waste. This Community Service Activity aims to improve the knowledge and skills of the Onan Lama Village community in organic waste management through socialization of the manufacture of organic waste shredders. The implementation method of the activity includes field observation, counseling, demonstration of tool making, and practical use of the organic waste shredder by the community. The activity targets community groups and village officials directly involved in environmental management. The results of the activity indicate that the community gained a better understanding of the importance of processing organic waste into useful materials, such as compost and organic fertilizer. In addition, participants were able to understand the working principles, assembly process, and how to operate the organic waste shredder in a simple and economical way. This activity also increased community participation in maintaining environmental cleanliness and supported the reduction of organic waste volume in the village. With the socialization and application of appropriate technology, it is hoped that the Onan Lama Village community can implement sustainable organic waste management and create a cleaner, healthier, and more productive environment.

Abstract

This study aims to improve creativity, fine motor skills, and the ability to recognize Hijaiyah letters in early childhood through collage activities using colorful paper. Early Childhood Education plays a crucial role in supporting children's overall development; therefore, learning methods should be creative, enjoyable, and appropriate to children's characteristics. Collage activities were selected because they provide opportunities for children to learn through direct experience, exploration, and meaningful engagement. This study employed a qualitative approach using Classroom Action Research (CAR), which was conducted through the stages of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The research subjects consisted of 10–15 children at ElFarooq Quranic School. Data were collected through observation, documentation, and assessment of children's work and were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model, including data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that Hijaiyah letter collage activities increased children's active participation in learning. Children became more enthusiastic, focused, and interested in recognizing Hijaiyah letters. In addition, their fine motor skills improved through cutting, pasting, and arranging materials. From cognitive and religious perspectives, children also demonstrated better recognition of the shapes and sounds of Hijaiyah letters. Therefore, Hijaiyah letter collage activities are effective as an innovative learning medium that holistically integrates artistic, cognitive, motor, and religious aspects.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of a handwashing function introduction program and healthy lifestyle education in preventing diseases among early childhood students at RA Nurul Iman, Baubau City. The background of this research is based on the low level of awareness and healthy living behaviors among children, which contributes to a high risk of infectious diseases such as diarrhea and respiratory tract infections. The research employed a quantitative approach with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The subjects consisted of 30 students selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using observation sheets and simple questionnaires to measure students' knowledge and behavior before and after the intervention. The results showed a significant improvement in students' knowledge and behavior following the educational intervention. Prior to the intervention, most students did not understand the importance of proper handwashing. After the intervention, more than 80% of the students were able to explain the function of handwashing, and more than 85% demonstrated handwashing behaviors in accordance with the correct procedures. These findings indicate that a practice-based educational approach is effective in developing healthy habits among young children. The study concludes that the handwashing function introduction program and healthy lifestyle education are effective in improving students' knowledge and behavior as a disease prevention effort. Therefore, health education programs should be continuously integrated into school learning activities and supported by an adequate environment.

Abstract

PT Internusa Master Niaga Pati is an online trading company whose operational activities involve Customer Sales Online (CSO), Admin, and Warehouse divisions in managing customer orders. However, the order management process is still carried out manually, causing several problems such as data recording errors, duplicate orders, delays in order processing, and difficulties in monitoring sales performance in real time. This community service activity aimed to provide training on a web-based customer sales performance monitoring system to improve operational efficiency and support sales monitoring activities within the company. The implementation methods included observation, interviews, system development, training, and user assistance. The system was developed using PHP and MySQL and provides features such as order management, data validation, duplicate detection, shipping management, and a real-time monitoring dashboard. The training activities were conducted for the Owner, Admin, and PIC Customer Sales Online to improve their understanding and ability to operate the system according to their respective responsibilities. The results of this activity indicate that the implementation and training process helped users manage order data more effectively, monitor sales performance more efficiently, and improve the utilization of web-based information systems in supporting company operations
