Abstract

The transformation of maritime supply chains into more sustainable systems presents both a challenge and a strategic opportunity to enhance the competitiveness of marine products. This study explores the integration of sea transportation based on green logistics principles as an approach to generating added value in maritime product marketing. A qualitative case study method was employed, focusing on seafood processing and distribution businesses in the coastal areas of Central Java. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, field observations, and document analysis, and processed using triangulation techniques. The findings reveal that implementing green logistics in sea transportation significantly reduces logistics costs, minimizes carbon emissions, and accelerates product distribution to key markets. Moreover, the integration of information systems and renewable energy-based fleet management has proven to improve operational efficiency and enhance the sustainability image of the products in the eyes of consumers. The study underscores that collaboration among government bodies, industry players, and local communities is essential in developing environmentally friendly and economically valuable maritime transport systems. In conclusion, the green logistics strategy contributes not only to ecological benefits but also to the increased competitiveness of maritime products in both domestic and international markets.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of auxiliary materials on the production volume of tin metal at PT Timah Tbk, Muntok, West Bangka. A descriptive quantitative approach was employed, presenting data in numerical form to assess the degree of influence between the examined variables. The sampling technique followed the minimum requirement of 20 times the number of variables. With two variables under investigation, a total of 40 samples were collected. Data analysis was conducted using simple linear regression to determine the significance of the relationship between auxiliary materials and production volume. The results indicate a positive and significant effect of auxiliary materials on tin metal production volume. This is evidenced by a significance value (Sig.) of 0.000, which is lower than the alpha level of 0.05, and a t-value of 5.484, which exceeds the t-table value of 2.024. Consequently, the null hypothesis (H₀) is rejected, and the alternative hypothesis (Hₐ) is accepted. These findings confirm that the availability and application of auxiliary materials play a crucial role in enhancing the production volume of tin metal within the company.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the importance of the role of human resources and infrastructure in supporting the smooth running of loading and unloading activities. The study aims to determine the impact of human resources and TUKS infrastructure on the operational performance of loading and unloading activities at PT Timah Tbk, Muntok, Barat. The research employs a descriptive quantitative approach, with the research population consisting of all 38 workers involved in loading and unloading activities. The F-test shows that human resources and TUKS infrastructure have a positive impact on the operational performance of loading and unloading activities, with an F-value of 13.568, which is greater than the F-table value of 3.27, and a significance level of 0.000. With an R value of 0.661, it is found that 43% of the operational performance of loading and unloading activities is influenced by human resources and TUKS infrastructure, while 56% is influenced by other factors such as weather and operational systems. Therefore, enhancing human resources through training and developing infrastructure are strategic steps to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of loading and unloading operations at PT Timah Tbk

Abstract

This research was conducted to understand how the process of document service and tug boat clearance affects the operational quality of the agency at PT. Adira Shipping Management Banjarmasin. In agency operational activities, document service and vessel clearance are crucial tasks that must be carried out quickly and accurately to support the smooth operation of vessels in the port. This research uses a descriptive qualitative method with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. The method used in this research is qualitative descriptive method, which aims to provide an in-depth overview of the objects being studied based on data obtained from observations, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis techniques are conducted through data triangulation, which involves comparing and confirming data from various sources to enhance the validity and accuracy of the research results. The research results indicate that the quality of the document service process and ship clearance carried out by PT. Adira Shipping Management is already quite good, but there are still obstacles such as delays in administrative processes and coordination between agencies. The document service and ship clearance processes have been carried out according to procedures, but there are still some technical issues that affect operational efficiency. These findings are expected to serve as materials for evaluation and improvement in enhancing the quality of agency services in the future.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the importance of the Inaportnet System and the role of ship activity supervision to support the smoothness of ship Clearance in/out effectiveness. This study aims to determine the results of the Influence of the Inaportnet System and Ship Activity Supervision on the Effectiveness of Clearance in/out by the Tegal Class IV KSOP Office. This study uses a quantitative descriptive approach with the sample of this study being employees of the Tegal Class IV KSOP Office who are involved in ship Clearance in/out activities consisting of 40 people, in  addition  the  F  Test  shows  that  the  Inaportnet  System  and  Ship Activity Supervision have a positive influence on the Effectiveness of Ship Clearance in/out with a calculated f value of 40.004> f tabel 3.25 with a significance value of 0.000, with an R value of 0.827, 68.4% is influenced by the Inaportnet System and Ship Activity Supervision, while 31.6% is influenced by other factors such as human resources and port conditions. Therefore, the combination of system digitalization and effective supervision is the key to improving the quality of services in the KSOP Class IV Tegal environment.

Abstract

The engine room of a merchant ship is one of the work areas with the highest accident risk on board, due to limited environmental conditions, the heat of the engine room affecting the room temperature, and complex operational systems. This study aims to improve the effectiveness of the implementation of the Safety Management System (SMS) and the crew's understanding of safety in reducing the number of work accidents in the engine room based on a recent literature review. Using a qualitative approach through a literature review, this study examines scientific documents, maritime safety reports, and international regulations such as the ISM Code. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of a structured Safety Management System through crew training, standard operating procedures (SOP), an incident reporting system, and internal audits can reduce the rate of work accidents in the engine room. The implementation of the Safety Management System still faces challenges, such as the crew's poor understanding of procedures, language limitations, and a weak safety culture. This study recommends strengthening visual-based training, regular evaluations, and the use of digital technology for safety reporting and monitoring. These findings are expected to provide academic and practical contributions in supporting maritime work safety, particularly in the engine room of merchant ships.

Abstract

The use of information technology is currently widely used in various activities with the aim of speeding up work processes and providing significant work effectiveness. Likewise with the process clearance in/out ships which are an important part in the smooth running of port operational activities. This research aims to analyze the effectiveness of using the Indonesia National Single Window (INSW) and Inaportnet system in supporting the process clearance in/out ship at PT. Samudera Agencies Indonesia Surabaya Branch. The research method used is a qualitative descriptive method with data collection techniques through observation and in-depth interviews with five internal sources who have a direct role in the process. clearance boat. The research results show that the implementation of the INSW and Inaportnet systems has a positive influence on accelerating the administrative process, increasing document transparency, and coordinating efficiency between agencies. INSW and Inaportnet systems make a positive contribution in increasing process effectiveness clearance in/out ships through accelerated services and digital document integration. However, this effectiveness still faces obstacles in the form of technical problems, limited infrastructure, and a lack of understanding and training for system users.

Abstract

The Indonesia National Single Window (INSW) is an integrated electronic system that supports the ship clearance process through the digital management of documents across institutions. Although it offers efficiency in port services, the system is vulnerable to disruptions when maintenance is not managed optimally. This issue is critical, as the smooth flow of national logistics increasingly depends on the stability of digital systems like INSW. This study aims to analyze the impact of INSW system maintenance on the smoothness of the ship clearance process in Ship Agency companies in Surabaya. A quantitative approach was used, with data collected through questionnaires distributed to 44 respondents. The data were analyzed using simple linear regression and the coefficient of determination. The results indicate that INSW system maintenance has a significant effect on the smoothness of ship clearance processes, with a significance value of 0.003. The coefficient of determination (R²) of 19.3% shows that the maintenance variable explains part of the variation in clearance smoothness, while the rest is influenced by other factors outside the model. These findings highlight the importance of structured maintenance management and the enhancement of human resource competencies to handle technical issues during maintenance, which is crucial for ensuring efficient and sustainable port operations.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh kesiapan alat bongkar muat terhadap efisiensi biaya operasional kapal tug boat pada PT. Gurita Lintas Samudera Cabang Merak. Studi ini menitikberatkan pada tiga indikator utama, yaitu persentase alat yang berfungsi secara optimal, frekuensi kerusakan alat, serta durasi waktu downtime. Data diperoleh dari 50 responden yang meliputi operator alat berat, pekerja bongkar muat, mandor, staf administrasi, dan manajer operasional melalui kuesioner berformat skala Likert. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan metode Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) dengan bantuan perangkat lunak SmartPLS versi 4. Hasil pengujian menujukkan bahwa ketiga variabel tersebut memberikan kontribusi positif dan signifikan terhadap peningkatan efisiensi biaya operasional, dengan nilai original sample dan p-value masing-masing: persentase alat berfungsi optimal (0,250; p=0,047), frekuensi kerusakan alat (0,404; p=0,001), serta waktu downtime (0,269; p=0,047). Koefisien determinasi (R²) model sebesar 0,745 mengindikasikan bahwa 74,5% variabilitas efisiensi biaya dapat dijelaskan oleh variabel kesiapan alat ini. Implikasi penelitian menekankan pentingnya pengelolaan optimal kondisi peralatan, pengurangan kerusakan, dan pengendalian downtime sebagai strategi efektif dalam menekan biaya operasional kapal tug boat secara berkelanjutan. Rekomendasi diberikan kepada perusahaan untuk meningkatkan program pemeliharaan dan sistem manajemen peralatan guna mendukung kelangsungan operasional dan daya saing di industri transportasi laut.
