Abstract

This study aims to quantitatively analyze the contribution of fleet growth to the revenue increase of PT XYZ Samudera Cabang Merak. Utilizing a descriptive and verificative approach, the research employs Structural Equation Modeling based on Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) to examine the causal relationships between independent and dependent variables. The study analyzes secondary time-series data sourced from the company's internal financial reports for the period 2019–2023. Comprehensive evaluations of the measurement model (Outer Model) and structural model (Inner Model) were conducted to ensure validity, reliability, and data robustness. The results indicate that the model possesses strong predictive power, with a coefficient of determination () of 0.717, meaning that 71.7% of the variation in company revenue can be explained by fleet growth and related operational factors. Hypothesis testing confirms that fleet growth has a positive and significant impact on revenue. These findings provide empirical evidence that fleet expansion strategies are effective determinants in maximizing the financial performance of shipping agency companies

Abstract

   Maritime safety on passenger ships is highly dependent on the readiness and skills of crew members (ABK) in implementing procedures, communicating effectively, and responding to emergencies quickly and correctly. This study aims to analyze the crew’s initial skill levels, identify factors contributing to ineffective safety drills, and formulate strategies to improve safety-related skills on KM. Thalia. A qualitative descriptive case-study method was employed through direct observation, interviews/communication with key informants, and document and maritime-safety literature review. The findings indicate a gap between expected procedures and actual practice during fire drills: the crew’s initial response was slow, muster time at the muster station exceeded the 5-minute target, understanding of assigned duties based on the muster list was uneven, and technical proficiency in using fireman outfits and breathing apparatus was inconsistent within the required drill timeframe. Key contributing factors include irregular drills, limited voyage time and weather constraints, suboptimal leadership motivation and supervision, varied crew experience levels, and inadequate maintenance of firefighting equipment. The study concludes that improving crew skills is most effectively achieved by strengthening both the frequency and quality of scheduled drills, supported by active safety leadership to build discipline, communication, and a safety culture onboard.

Abstract

This study investigates the effect of safety-at-work learning on students’ understanding of merchant ship safety procedures among Nautical Department students at SMK Negeri 3 Ambon. A quantitative approach with a causal-associative design and ex post facto technique was employed. The population consisted of 100 students, and 80 respondents were selected using simple random sampling. Data were collected through a validated Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed using descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation, and simple linear regression with IBM SPSS Statistics 25. The results show that safety-at-work learning is categorized as “good” (average 4.14), while students’ understanding of ship safety procedures is also “good” (average 4.04). A strong and significant positive correlation was found (r = 0.724, p < 0.001), and regression analysis (Ŷ = 1.205 + 0.685X, R² = 0.524) indicates that safety-at-work learning explains 52.4% of the variation in students’ understanding. It is concluded that structured and practice-based safety education significantly improves students’ comprehension of merchant ship safety procedures.

Abstract

This study is driven by the high rate of over PKL (over-duty periods) among ship crew members, reaching approximately, as well as the extended standby durations exceeding three months at PT Pertamina Marine Solutions Jakarta. The objective of this research is to examine the influence of work motivation and crew loyalty on the duration of work (on duty) and rest periods (off duty), as well as their effects on operational efficiency and the well-being of the crew. A quantitative approach was employed, with a population of 1.801 crew members from PT Pertamina Marine Solutions Jakarta. A total of 92 respondents were selected using the Simple Random Sampling (SRS) technique. Data were gathered through interviews, questionnaires, and literature reviews, and analyzed using multiple linear regression with SPSS version 27. The resulting multiple linear regression equation is Y = 6.327 + 0.377 (X1) + 0.451 (X2). The partial T-test results indicate that work motivation (X1) has a significance level of 0.001 < 0.005 and a t-value of 4.151 > t-tabel 1.986, demonstrating a positive and significant influence on both on-duty and off-duty durations. Consequently, Ho1 is rejected, and H1 is accepted. Likewise, crew loyalty (X2) has a significance level of 0.001 < 0.005 and a t-value of 4.952 > t- tabel 1.986, indicating a positive and significant effect on both on-duty and off-duty durations, leading to the rejection of Ho2 and acceptance of Ha2. The F-test results show that work motivation and loyalty together have a significant effect on the on- duty and off-duty durations, contributing 66,4%. The study recommends that the company strengthen its motivation and loyalty programs to enhance operational efficiency and the well-being of the crew.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of digital export systems on reducing national logistics costs in Indonesia. Although Indonesia’s export volume continues to rise, its logistics costs remain relatively high, largely due to inefficient administrative and coordination processes. The implementation of digital systems such as the Indonesia National Single Window (INSW), Electronic Bill of Lading (e-BL), and Terminal Operating System (TOS) is intended to enhance transparency, accelerate service procedures, and minimize reliance on manual documentation. This research employs a qualitative descriptive approach, with data collected through in-depth interviews, on-site observations at the port, and document analysis related to export procedures. The findings indicate that digital export systems contribute to shorter processing times, improved data accuracy, and reduced operational expenses. However, the effectiveness of these systems is still influenced by human resource readiness and inter-agency system integration. Therefore, digital export transformation has the potential to strengthen Indonesia’s international trade competitiveness, although it requires further enhancement of user capabilities and cross-sector policy alignment.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menguji pengaruh tata letak gudang dan material handling equipment terhadap produktivitas bongkar muat karet di Gudang PT. Teduh Makmur Semarang. Penelitian kuantitatif asosiatif merupakan jenis penelitian ini. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 32 orang, sedangkan populasi berjumlah 32 orang pekerja PT. Teduh Makmur Semarang. Sampel Jenuh merupakan pendekatan pengambilan sampel secara nonprobability sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah dokumentasi dan penyebaran kuesioner. Berdasarkan hasil uji T parsial X­1 tata letak gudang nilai t­hitung 4,854 > t­tabel 2,04523, maka H0­1 ditolak dan Ha­1 diterima karena terdapat pengaruh yang positif dan signifikan sebesar 44%. Material handling equipment memiliki pengaruh yang positif dan signifikan terhadap produktivitas bongkar muat karet sebesar 43,2%, maka H0­2 ditolak dan Ha­2 diterima berdasarkan hasil uji T parsial X­2 material handling equipment  nilai t­hitung 6,276 > t­tabel 2,04523. Berdasarkan hasil uji F simultan variabel Y produktivitas bongkar muat karet diperoleh nilai f­hitung 20,265 > f­tabel 3,33, Maka H0­3 ditolak dan Ha­3 diterima, ini menunjukkan bahwa ltata letak gudang dan material handling equipment secara bersama-sama memiliki pengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap produktivitas bongkar muat karet. Kedua variabel independen tersebut berpengaruh sebesar 58,3% terhadap ptoduktivitas bongkar muat karet.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan strategi penataan gudang di gudang Bulog baru Palebon kota Semarang, mengidentifikasi faktor-faktor yang memengaruhi efektivitas strategi penataan gudang dalam menjaga kualitas beras selama penyimpanan, menganalisis pandangan dan pengalaman pegawai terkait tantangan dan solusi dalam strategi penataan gudang untuk menjaga kualitas beras selama penyimpanan di gudang Bulog baru Palebon kota Semarang. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi kepada 3 responden karyawan gudang yang terlibat dalam proses penataan atau penyimpanan beras. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penataan gudang telah diterapkan secara sistematis sesuai dengan SOP melalui pengaturan tata letak, susunan tumpukan, penggunaan palet, dan penerapan sistem fifo, yang didukung oleh pengendalian kebersihan, hama, dan pemantauan suhu dan kelembaban gudang. Efektivitas penataan dipengaruhi oleh kompetensi sumber daya manusia, kondisi fasilitas gudang, serta dukungan administrasi dan teknologi. Terlepas dari tantangan seperti kelembaban, hama, dan pemeliharaan fasilitas, proses penataan umumnya berjalan dengan baik karena prosedur kerja yang standar, inspeksi rutin, dan tindakan cepat dalam menangani potensi kerusakan sehingga kualitas beras tetap terjaga.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji penerapan Microsoft Dynamics AX dalam meningkatkan efisiensi proses barang masuk serta kontribusinya terhadap pencapaian lead time penerimaan di Gudang PT. Sari Warna Asli Garment Solo. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi terhadap pihak-pihak yang terlibat langsung dalam aktivitas penerimaan barang. Analisis data dilakukan melalui proses reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan, dengan pengujian keabsahan data menggunakan teknik triangulasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa implementasi Microsoft Dynamics AX mampu mengintegrasikan proses penerimaan, pencatatan, dan pengendalian persediaan secara real-time, sehingga meningkatkan efisiensi alur barang masuk, meminimalkan kesalahan pencatatan, serta mengurangi aktivitas yang tidak bernilai tambah. Peningkatan efisiensi proses tersebut berdampak pada pemendekan lead time penerimaan barang, sehingga perusahaan dapat memenuhi target waktu penerimaan secara lebih konsisten dan mendukung kelancaran operasional gudang.

Abstract

Container terminals play a strategic role in supporting maritime logistics and regional trade competitiveness. Increasing operational pressure and environmental concerns require terminal operators to improve efficiency while adopting green port practices. This study aims to analyze the effect of operational efficiency and green port practices on container terminal performance with port competitiveness as a mediating variable. A quantitative approach was employed using survey data collected from 90 respondents working in container terminal operations and management. Data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The results indicate that operational efficiency and green port practices have a positive and significant effect on port competitiveness. Port competitiveness has a strong influence on container terminal performance. Operational efficiency directly affects performance, while green port practices do not show a significant direct effect. However, both variables significantly influence terminal performance through port competitiveness. These findings highlight the importance of integrating efficiency improvement and environmental initiatives into a comprehensive competitiveness strategy.
