Abstract

Strengthening disciplinary character education through disciplinary development is an inseparable part of Islamic boarding schools. As traditional Islamic educational institutions, Islamic boarding schools have broader goals than simply transmitting religious knowledge. One of the main goals of Islamic boarding schools is to form an Islamic character in students. Discipline is a means of creating attitudes and behaviors that are contrary to the teachings of the Islamic religion, including obedience, patience, and responsibility. This research aims to find and explain discipline development activities in strengthening character education in Islamic boarding schools. The research method used was descriptive qualitative with a field focus at the Al-Istiqamah Ngatabaru Modern Islamic Boarding School, Central Sulawesi. Data collection methods are carried out through interviews, observation, and documentation. The data analysis method uses data reduction techniques, presentation, verification, and conclusions. The research found that strengthening disciplinary character education and developing disciplinary character were two important activities at the Al-Istiqamah Ngatabaru Modern Islamic Boarding School, South Sulawesi. Through these two activities, the disciplined character of students can be realized to support various religious activities in Islamic boarding schools. From this disciplined character in participating in religious activities, students become individuals who master a lot of religious knowledge and always behave well in everyday life.

Abstract

Abstract

Differentiated learning using the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model is one of the innovative strategies implemented to meet the diverse learning needs of students in the classroom. This study examines the implementation of differentiated learning with the PBL model in Islamic Religious Education and Character Education subjects at SMAN 4 Palu, aiming to understand how the integration of these two approaches affects the learning process and student learning outcomes. The method used is a qualitative approach, which includes observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, as well as descriptive qualitative data analysis techniques to gain a comprehensive understanding of the experiences of students and teachers in implementing differentiated PBL. The results show that the approach is able to increase student engagement in learning, facilitate the development of critical thinking skills, and increase learning motivation, although there are some challenges in adapting the model to the subject matter. In conclusion, the implementation of differentiated PBL has great potential to improve the quality of learning and student learning outcomes as a whole.

Abstract

The development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has had a significant impact across various fields, including education. One of its potential applications lies in the development of teaching modules aligned with the principles of the Merdeka Curriculum. This study aims to describe the implementation of AI in the process of designing and developing teaching modules at SMA Bina Insan Palu. The research employs a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and document analysis of teaching modules, and were then analyzed using data reduction, data presentation, and thematic conclusion-drawing techniques. The findings reveal that the use of AI supports teachers in creating more creative, interactive, and contextual learning materials. Moreover, AI facilitates the development of Project-Based Learning (PjBL) relevant to the Pancasila Student Profile and enables the application of varied and adaptive assessments through AI-based questions and interactive quizzes. AI also contributes to enhancing teachers' creativity in designing digital learning media while saving time in preparing teaching modules. However, teachers' limited digital literacy and the need for intensive training remain major challenges in optimizing AI implementation. The study concludes that AI serves as a pedagogical partner in the development of teaching modules, supporting rather than replacing the role of teachers. To ensure AI utilization is aligned with the goals of the Merdeka Curriculum, strategic efforts are needed in the form of improving digital literacy, providing intensive training for educators, and ensuring adequate technological infrastructure

Abstract

The development of digital technology encourages schools to adjust their learning strategies, including enhancing students' digital literacy and reading interest. This study aims to analyze the implementation of digital literacy and its relation to students' reading interest in the context of the Merdeka Curriculum at SMA Bina Insan Palu. The research employed a qualitative approach with a case study design, collecting data through observation, interviews with teachers and students, and documentation of learning activities. The findings indicate that students' digital literacy levels fall into a fairly good category, yet they still require specific guidance in aspects such as source verification, proper citation, and understanding of digital ethics. Reading interest tends to increase when students are provided with interactive digital reading materials, Pancasila Student Profile (P5) projects, and authentic assessments in the form of reflections or short reviews. The main challenges faced include limited access to devices, fluctuating network quality, and a lack of curated reading materials suitable for students' proficiency levels. The discussion highlights that interventions such as tiered digital reading curation, daily reading routines, authentic assessments, and technical support (devices and internet connections) are practical strategies to improve both digital literacy and students' reading interest. The study concludes that the success of the Merdeka Curriculum implementation at SMA Bina Insan Palu is strongly determined by teachers' readiness, institutional support, and the provision of adequate digital infrastructure

Abstract

The Padungku tradition in Molowagu Village is an expression of gratitude for the harvest as well as a reinforcement of social solidarity. Modernization shifts its meaning, so this study emphasizes its function as a medium for internalizing religious values, social ethics, and communal cohesion in contemporary empirical society. This study aims to analyze the values of Islamic Education contained in the Padungku tradition and explain the role of this tradition in shaping religious awareness of social solidarity and religious education practices in the Molowagu Village community, Batudaka District, Tojo Una Una Regency. The study uses a qualitative approach with an ethnographic research type. Data were obtained through observation, interviews, and documentation, then analyzed descriptively interpretatively with triangulation of sources and techniques to ensure data validity. The results show that the Padungku Tradition of the Pamona Poso community is a socio-historical construction since the seventeenth century that integrates the relationship between humans, nature, and God and transforms through Islamization without losing local identity. Ethnographically, this tradition internalizes the values of gratitude, social solidarity, and collective ecological awareness. The implications of this research confirm that the integration of local wisdom in Islamic education contributes to enriching the development of culture-based education while strengthening the function of tradition as a medium for contextual socio-religious education in community life
