Abstract

This study examines how entrepreneurial abilities, accumulated business experience, and social media support influence business success among entrepreneurs in Medan City. Unlike previous research that examined these factors separately, this study integrates internal competencies and digital support within a local Indonesian context. A quantitative approach with descriptive and explanatory designs was applied to a population of 55 entrepreneurs using saturated sampling. Data were analyzed using multiple regression and path analysis. Results show that entrepreneurial skills (β = 0.412; t = 4.375; p < 0.001), business experience (β = 0.276; t = 3.040; p = 0.004), and social media support (β = 0.389; t = 4.145; p < 0.001) each positively and significantly affect entrepreneurial success. Collectively, the variables also have a significant effect (F = 53.873; p < 0.001), explaining 76% of the variance (R² = 0.760). These findings underscore the importance of enhancing entrepreneurial skills, practical experience, and digital engagement to achieve sustainable business success.

Abstract

Global manufacturing systems face increasing disruptions from geopolitical tensions, pandemic aftershocks, and transportation bottlenecks, threatening supply chain stability and industrial confidence. This study examines supply chain fortitude as an integrative capability encompassing endurance, flexibility, and anticipatory governance. A mixed-method approach was applied, combining cross-regional survey data, structural equation modeling (SEM), and in-depth interviews. The findings reveal that redundancy capacity and digital readiness significantly enhance supply chain fortitude, while disruption frequency negatively affects industrial confidence and decision agility. However, excessive digital investment shows diminishing returns without supplier diversification and organizational alignment. The study highlights that technological integration alone is insufficient, emphasizing the importance of structural and behavioral support mechanisms. Overall, supply chain fortitude is identified as a multidimensional construct integrating technological capability, structural redundancy, and psychological assurance to sustain strategic decision-making under persistent global uncertainty.

Abstract

The hospitality industry, particularly five-star hotels, increasingly faces the challenge of maintaining service excellence while ensuring employee well-being and organizational sustainability, thereby raising critical questions regarding how managerial practices such as training and customer loyalty programs influence job satisfaction through employee engagement. This study aims to examine the mediating role of employee engagement in the relationship between training effectiveness, customer loyalty program implementation, and employee job satisfaction in Indonesian luxury hotels. A quantitative explanatory approach was employed using survey data collected from full-time hotel employees, which were subsequently analyzed through structural equation modeling (SEM) to evaluate both direct and indirect relationships among variables. The results indicate that training and customer loyalty programs positively influence job satisfaction, with employee engagement demonstrating a significant mediating effect that strengthens these relationships. These findings suggest that psychological involvement functions as a crucial interpretive mechanism through which organizational initiatives are translated into positive employee attitudes. The study concludes that integrating human resource development and customer-oriented strategies with engagement-focused management practices is essential for achieving sustainable service performance and workforce stability in high-end hospitality contexts.

Abstract

This research investigates the vital function of information technology (IT) infrastructure and digital economic ecosystems in driving the growth of local entrepreneurship across Indonesia's five Super Priority Tourism Destinations (DPSP). Employing a quantitative explanatory framework, the study analyzes secondary data from Statistics Indonesia (BPS), the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, and Bank Indonesia spanning the 2022–2024 period to evaluate how connectivity influences the development of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). The findings demonstrate a robust correlation (r = 0.782, p < 0.05) between IT infrastructure stability and the operational longevity of local firms, while the integration of digital payment ecosystems, notably QRIS, successfully mitigated entry barriers for 70,700 new merchants. However, the study identifies a persistent "Infrastructure-Human Gap," where technological readiness exceeds the digital literacy of local communities. The study concludes that fostering local entrepreneurial acceleration necessitates a strategic convergence of physical network expansion and human capital empowerment. Policy interventions should prioritize grassroots digital business incubation centers to guarantee inclusive and equitable tourism growth.

Abstract

This study investigates the strategic integration of blue economy principles within Indonesian small-scale fisheries (SSF) through the deployment of digital market platforms. This study examines the integration of blue economy principles. Utilizing a quantitative secondary data analysis combined with the Total Economic Value (TEV) framework and comparative statistical testing from the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) and the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) for the 2020-2025 period, the study evaluates production metrics across three primary geographic clusters. The findings demonstrate that IoT-integrated management significantly optimizes operational efficiency, evidenced by a 22.09% reduction in the Feed Conversion Ratio (FCR) and a substantial elevation of the Fishers' Exchange Rate (NTPi) via direct market linkages. Furthermore, digital traceability was found to command a 15-20% price premium in international markets, effectively internalizing sustainability into financial assets. The research concludes that while digitalization serves as a powerful catalyst for coastal prosperity and resource resilience, its success remains contingent upon closing the digital infrastructure gap. These results offer a data-driven framework for policymakers to harmonize technological acceleration with environmental stewardship in the maritime sector.

Abstract

Nation branding plays a strategic role in enhancing the competitiveness of creative exports through strengthening cultural identity and global perception, yet primary canals frequently suffer structural failures due to excessive dewatering rates. This study aims to determine the safe water level drawdown velocity for the Sindupraja Main Canal in the Rentang Irrigation District to mitigate bank slope instability. This study adopts a quantitative approach using secondary data and econometric analysis to evaluate the influence of nation branding on creative export performance and slope stability analysis utilizing secondary geotechnical data from the Ministry of Public Works and Housing (PUPR) alongside global economic indicators. Simulation results indicate that the alluvial clay at the study site exhibits an 85.00% lag in pore water pressure dissipation, where drawdown rates exceeding 0.75 m/day force the Factor of Safety (FS) down to 1.05 (failure category). Correlation analysis further reveals that irrigation reliability contributes 28.30% to the export value of agriculture-based creative commodities. It is concluded that restricting the maximum drawdown rate to 0.30 m/day is essential for maintaining structural integrity and the sustainability of the rural creative economy. This research offers a scientific contribution by integrating unsaturated geotechnical parameters with national soft power managerial strategies.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of logistics technology (logtech) management innovations on the reduction of Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) in medium-sized manufacturing firms. The study employs a quantitative approach using a survey method involving 30 respondents selected through purposive sampling. Data were analyzed using the Partial Least Squares – Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) method with the assistance of SmartPLS. The results indicate that logtech has a significant negative effect on COGS, with a coefficient of -0.73, a t-statistic of 6.21, and a p-value < 0.05. The coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.61 indicates that the logtech variable explains 61% of the variation in COGS reduction. These findings suggest that increased adoption of logistics technologies, such as Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Transportation Management Systems (TMS), and the Internet of Things (IoT), contributes to improved supply chain efficiency and reduced production costs. This study offers a theoretical contribution to the development of operations management literature as well as practical implications for companies in designing logistics digitization strategies to enhance cost efficiency and competitiveness.
