Journal of Automotive Technology and Education (JATE) adalah jurnal akademik berbasis peer-review yang diterbitkan oleh Departemen Pendidikan Teknik Otomotif, Fakultas Teknik, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY). Jurnal ini didedikasikan untuk mewadahi dan mendiseminasikan kajian teoretis maupun riset empiris dalam rumpun ilmu pendidikan vokasi, teknologi terapan, dan teknik otomotif. Fokus dan Ruang Lingkup (Focus and Scope) JATE mempublikasikan naskah penelitian yang berfokus pada tiga pilar utama: 1. Pendidikan Vokasi Otomotif: Mencakup pengembangan kurikulum (termasuk Kurikulum Merdeka di SMK), model dan strategi pembelajaran, instrumen evaluasi/asesmen praktik, efikasi diri dan kompetensi guru, hingga manajemen pendidikan vokasi. 2. Teknologi Terapan Otomotif: Berkaitan dengan inovasi rekayasa otomotif, pengujian performa mesin, efisiensi energi, hingga riset kendaraan masa depan seperti teknologi sepeda motor dan mobil listrik (EV). 3. Teknik dan Manajemen Perbengkelan: Meliputi implementasi Keselamatan dan Kesehatan Kerja (K3) di bengkel/laboratorium, budaya kerja industri (seperti 5R), manajemen kualitas perakitan, dan perawatan kendaraan ringan maupun berat. Informasi Penerbitan E-ISSN: 3063-3591 Frekuensi Terbit: Terbit secara berkala dua kali dalam setahun, yaitu pada bulan Januari dan Juli. Bahasa Publikasi: Jurnal ini menerima dan menerbitkan naskah dalam Bahasa Indonesia dan Bahasa Inggris. Akses: Jurnal ini menggunakan sistem Open Access, sehingga seluruh literatur dan hasil penelitian yang dipublikasikan dapat diakses secara terbuka dan gratis oleh publik, peneliti, serta praktisi pendidikan. Abstract

SMK N 3 Yogyakarta is one of the vocational schools appointed by Presidential Decree No. 9 of 2016 concerning Vocational Revitalization. SMK N 3 Yogyakarta is a reference vocational school that must implement a program, teaching factory but the Light Vehicle Engineering Skills Competence has not implemented learning on a base teaching factory. This study aims to determine the level of readiness of light vehicle engineering competence in SMK N 3 Yogyakarta if-based learning is carried out in a teaching factory. This research is a type of descriptive research. Collecting data using questionnaires, observation, and documentation. Respondents of this study were productive teachers of light vehicle engineering skills at SMK N 3 Yogyakarta. The data analysis technique used descriptive statistics. The conclusions from the research results are: (1) the level of teacher readiness if-based learning is carried out is teaching factory in the ready category, (2) the level of readiness for cooperation with industry if-based learning is carried out is teaching factory in the ready category, and (3) the level of infrastructure readiness if implemented-based learning is teaching factory in the very ready category.

Abstract

This study aims to find out: (1) involvement of parents in learning assistance in the Covid-19 period of SMK PIRI 1 Yogyakarta; (2) constraints for parents in learning assistance in the Covid-19 period of SMK PIRI 1 Yogyakarta. This research uses a type of descriptive research with a quantitative approach. The population used in this study was 20 students, 20 parents, and 16 teachers of class X TBSM. The sample size of the study was 19 students, 5 parents, 5 teachers of class X TBSM 1 according to the sample size of Gay and Diehl. The data is obtained using the following instruments: (1) a closed student questionnaire; (2) open and closed questionnaires of parents; (3) open and closed questionnaires of teachers. The analysis of this research data was done with percentages and descriptive. The results of this study are: (1) The level of involvement of parents in learning assistance during the Covid-19 pandemic of SMK PIRI 1 Yogyakarta is in the high category with a percentage of 93.49%; (2) Parents' constraints in learning assistance during the Covid-19 pandemic are influenced by the following factors: (a) educational background; (b) economic level; (c) types of parental employment; (d) parent's available time.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the level of perception of students of Automotive Engineering Education FT UNY on the implementation of micro teaching online. This type of research is descriptive with a mixed methods approach, and the research design used is the explanatory sequential design. This research was conducted at the Department of Automotive Engineering Education, Faculty of Engineering, Yogyakarta State University. The population in this study was the Automotive student class of 2018 with a total of 70 people. The sampling technique used in this research is the method developed by Isaac and Michael with an error rate of 1% so that the sample size of students is 63 students. The number of interview samples was 10 students. Research data collection using questionnaires and interviews. Construct validity using expert judgment was used to obtain the validity of the data, and also the Readability Test for a sample of students. The collection and analysis of questionnaire data used a quantitative method in the first stage, and was followed by the collection and analysis of interview data using a qualitative method in the second stage. The results in the study are the perceptions of students of Automotive Engineering Education FT UNY on the implementation of online micro teaching as a whole including in the good category with a percentage of 69.83%, in detail the acceptance indicator is in the good category with a percentage of 72.39%; The understanding indicator is included in the good category with a percentage of 68.85%; Evaluation indicators are included in the good category with a percentage of 68.25%. There are also perceptions from students who are not good, some findings of weaknesses and obstacles from online micro teaching learning include: (1) students have problems with slow internet networks or signals, (2) practical teaching practice exercises are not effective and not optimal, because the material and practicum tools owned by students are limited, (3) students feel that their ability to teach practicum is not honed, because the method of giving assignments from lecturers is only limited to looking for animations. (4) online micro teaching learning makes students bored because of difficulties in interacting with classmates.

Abstract

The research aims to: (1) make technical drawing modules and AutoCAD basics tath can help students learn during the COVID-19 pandemic, (2) Determine the feasibility of the engineering drawing module and the basics of AutoCAD to be used as student learning materials in the engineering drawing subject of class X majoring in Light Vehicle Engineering at SMK N 3 Yogyakarta (2) Knowing the effectiveness of the modules developed to support learning subjects engineering drawing lessons class X majoring in Light Vehicle Engineering SMK N 3 Yogyakarta. This research was conducted by using the method of the research and development (RnD). The research Model used referring to a flow step of the development of Borg & Gall. n this study, we will use development based on the development steps of Borg & Gall; (1) the Collection of initial information, (2) Planning, (3) Development of the initial module, (4) limited Testing and product revision, and (5) Testing and revision of the product. Research data collection was carried out using questionnaires and observations. In this study, researchers will use an instrument in the form of a questionnaire to obtain data. The results of this study are: (1) media in the from of technical drawing modules and AutoCAD basics that can help students learn during the COVID-19 pandemic, (2) assessment of the feasibility level of the learning module includes aspects of media, materials, small trials, and large trials. The feasibility of the module in terms of the results of the expert validation of the module media got "very feasible" results. Based on the feasibility of the module in terms of the results of the material expert validation, the results were "very feasible". Based on student responses, the media module got "wort it" results. (3) The developed media is declared effective with indicators of increasing student learning outcomes before using the module media and after using the module media.

Abstract

This study aims to: (1) determine the condition of the practical equipment in the Automotive Management and Maintenance Engineering Workshop at SMK N 2 Klaten. (2) Knowing the completeness of practical equipment at the Automotive Management and Maintenance Engineering Workshop at SMK N 2 Klaten. (3) Knowing the suitability of the type and amount of practical equipment in the Automotive Management and Maintenance Engineering Workshop at SMK N 2 Klaten in accordance with the standards of Permendikbud no. 34 years 2018. This study uses a descriptive method with teachers and Toolman as respondents. This research was conducted in June 2021 with data collection methods including interviews, observations, and documentation. The data analysis technique used is descriptive statistics. The research is based on the objectives to be achieved, focused on the level of suitability of practical equipment in the Automotive Management and Maintenance Engineering workshop at SMK N 2 Klaten. The results obtained in this study are: (1) Automotive engine work area with an average percentage of 56.15% can be categorized accordingly. (2) The automotive electrical work area with an average percentage of 62.9% can be categorized accordingly. (3) The chassis and power transfer work area with an average percentage of 106.6% can be categorized as very suitable.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the readiness of students and teachers in the implementation of face-to-face (offline) learning in the TKRO Expertise Competency of SMK Negeri 5 Surakarta. This research is descriptive research. The subjects of this study were class X students and educators in the TKRO department of SMK Negeri 5 Surakarta carried out by purposive sampling sample method. Data collection is done by observation, interviews, and documentation. The analytical technique used is a qualitative analysis technique from Miles and Huberman. This study found that students are ready to carry out learning activities, this is based on the fulfillment of four aspects of indicators, namely knowledge readiness, physical readiness, mental readiness, and emotional readiness. Educators are also ready to carry out face-to-face learning, this is also based on the fulfillment of four aspects of indicators, namely: (1) knowledge, educators know and understand offline learning procedures, (2) physical, educators are able to carry out offline learning, (3) mental, educators do not experience difficulties in offline learning, (4) emotional, educators choose offline learning rather than online.

Abstract

This research aims to determine: (1) Knowing the planning of the OHS Management System in the automotive repair shop at SMKN 3 Yogyakarta. (2) Describe the application of the OHS Management System in the automotive workshop of SMKN 3 Yogyakarta. (3) Identify the evaluation of the OHS Management System in the automotive workshop of SMKN 3 Yogyakarta. This research is a quantitative descriptive study, with the research subjects of four respondents, namely Workshop Coordinators, Teachers, and Technicians. Data collection techniques using questionnaires documentation and interviews. The results of data analysis are presented in the form of columns and presented briefly in a table in the form of the percentage of achievement scores then described and grouped by sub-indicators. The results of the research show: (1) SMK3 planning at the T SMKN 3 Yogyakarta Expertise Competency Workshop is included in the sufficient criteria because it has an achievement percentage rate of 57.29%. (2) The application of SMK3 in the Light Vehicle Engineering Competency Workshop at SMKN 3 Yogyakarta is included in the good criteria because it has an achievement percentage of 79.52%. (3) Evaluation of SMK3 at the Light Vehicle Engineering Competency Workshop at SMKN 3 Yogyakarta is included in the criteria because it has an achievement percentage of 61.66%.

Abstract

The aims of this study were to describe the level of teachers and students motivation in class X at Automotive Major SMK N 2 Depok in online learning during the Covid-19 pandemic This research is a type of descriptive research. The sample of the research was visited by 67 students and 11 teachers in class X at SMK N 2 Depok. The questionnaire was tested at SMK Negeri 2 Depok Sleman Yogyakarta, with a validity coefficient for teachers of 0.602,and students of 0.244. While for reliability coefficient teacher reliability of 0.777, and students of 0.772. The data analysis technique used descriptive statistical analysis methods in the form of percentages.The results showed that teachers are quite satisfied in the implementation of online learning organized by Automotive Major SMK N2 Depok in online learning during the Covid-1 and students motivation was still quite satisfied in the implementation of online learning organized by Automotive Major SMK N 2 Depok in the implementation of online learning during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to find out: 1) the effect of parental education on learning motivation of class XI students of the Automotive Engineering Expertise Program at SMK Negeri 3 Tanjungpinang; 2) the influence of the school environment on the learning motivation of class XI students of the Automotive Engineering Expertise Program at SMK Negeri 3 Tanjungpinang; 3) the influence of parental education and the school environment on the learning motivation of class XI students of the Automotive Engineering Expertise Program at SMK Negeri 3 Tanjungpinang. This research is a causal associative research using a quantitative approach. Test the validity of the instrument using Pearson Product Moment and test the reliability using Alpha Cronbach with the help of SPSS software version 29 for Windows. The analysis assumption test consists of a normality test, linearity test, multicollinearity test and heteroscedasticity test. Test the hypothesis using simple regression and multiple regression. The results showed that 1) there was a positive and significant effect of parental education on learning motivation with tcount (3.154) > ttable (1.997) at a significant level of 5% and contributing 13.1% to learning motivation. 2) there is a positive and significant effect of the school environment on learning motivation with tcount (4.297) > ttable (1.997) at a significant level of 5% and contributing 21.9% to learning motivation. 3) there is a positive and significant effect of parental education and the school environment on learning motivation with fcount (13.512) > ftable (3.14) at a significant level of 5% and contributing 29.4% to learning motivation.

Abstract

Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kualitas butir soal Penilaian Akhir Semester genap Teori Kejuruan TKR SMK N 1 Sanden dari aspek validitas, reliabilitas, tingkat kesukaran, daya pembeda dan efektivitas pengecoh. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif dan teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan teknik dokumentasi. Dokumen berupa soal, kunci jawaban, dan respons peserta didik yang berjumlah 60 soal dan diikuti oleh 56 peserta didik. Analisis empiris menggunakan program ITEMAN 4.3 dan analisis logis menggunakan kartu telaah. Hasil penelitian menemukan bahwa soal tersebut 8% tidak memenuhi aspek materi, tidak memenuhi 28% aspek konstruksi dan 88% tidak memenuhi aspek bahasa. Hasil temuan analisis empiris terdapat 62% berkualitas sangat baik, 11% berkualitas baik, 22% berkualitas cukup, 5% berkualitas kurang baik, dan tidak ada soal berkualitas tidak baik. Penelitian ini juga menghasilkan temuan bahwa reliabilitas soal adalah 0,892 yang berarti memiliki reliabilitas sangat tinggi. Secara keseluruhan soal Penilaian Akhir Semester Genap TA 2021/2022 mata pelajaran Teori Kejuruan TKR kelas X SMK N 1 Sanden mempunyai kualitas butir yang baik dan layak digunakan sebagai alat evaluasi tetapi perlu dilakukan perbaikan dari aspek materi, konstruksi dan bahasa. Kata Kunci: Analisis Butir; Program ITEMAN; Penilaian Akhir Semester Abstract This study aims to determine the quality of the items on the Even Semester Final Assessment Vocational Theory TKR SMK N 1 Sanden from the aspects of validity, reliability, difficulty level, discriminating power and effectiveness of deception. This research is a descriptive research and data collection techniques are carried out by documentation techniques. Documents in the form of questions, answer keys, and student responses totaling 60 questions and were attended by 56 students. Empirical analysis uses the ITEMAN 4.3 program and logical analysis uses study cards. The results of the study found that 8% of the questions did not meet the material aspect, 28% did not fulfill the construction aspect and 88% did not fulfill the language aspect. The results of the empirical analysis found that 62% had very good quality, 11% had good quality, 22% had sufficient quality, 5% had poor quality, and there were no questions of poor quality. This study also found that the reliability of the item was 0.892 which means it has very high reliability. Overall, the questions for the Even Semester Final Assessment for the 2021/2022 Academic Year TKR Vocational Theory subject for class X SMK N 1 Sanden have good quality items and are suitable for use as an evaluation tool but need to be improved in terms of material, construction and language aspects.
