Abstract

This study aims to know the characteristics of: (1) fuel consumption on four stroke diesel engine in terms of the fuel injection timing variation in application of biosolar and Pertamina Dex, (2) emission opacity on four stroke diesel engine in terms of the fuel injection timing variation in application of biosolar and Pertamina Dex. This study used experimental approaches on four strokes single cylinder direct injection diesel engine with 4200 watts on maximum power. The engine speed and load were controlled by electricity load of electric AC generator. Observation was used to collect the data. The data was analyzed with mean calculation and showed with tables and graphics.The result of this study showed that: (1) the most effi cient of fuel consumption is reached when injection timing in 30 before TDC (advanced) with biosolar, while in retreated condition is more uneconomical, (2) the least emission opacity is reached when injection timing in 30 O before TDC (advanced) with Pertamina Dex and worse in retreated condition.

Abstract

This study aimed to develop interactive teaching media for the subject of Diesel Motorcycle Fuel System at Vocational High Schools. This study was categorised into Research and Development. To examine the effect of the developed media, two classes at SMK Negeri 2 Pengasih were selected as the subjects of this study. The data analysis techniques employed descriptive statistical technique and T-test. The results revealed: 1) relatively, there is not Vocational High School teachers who use interactive media learning for the subject of Diesel Motorcycle Fuel System. The most widely used media were power point presentations. 2) Interactive computer-based media can be developed for teaching meterials of Diesel Motorcycle Fuel System. 3) Based on the experiment, the developed instructional media is effective in the learning process. 4). The interactive media foster better learning achievement than the power point media does.

Abstract

Diberlakukannya Masyarakat Ekonomi ASEAN menuntut kesiapan dan pengakuan kompetensi tenaga kerja untuk menghadapi persaingan bebas. Di Indonesia, pemerintah menargetkan peningkatan jumlah penyelenggaraan SMK untuk menyiapkan lulusan yang siap kerja. Namun faktanya pengangguran lulusan SMK masih tinggi, meskipun banyak sekolah telah melakukan uji kompetensi serta program sertifikasi bagi lulusannya. Untuk melihat uji kompetensi di SMK, perlu diketahui materi uji, asesor, hasil uji, serta sertifikasinya. Penelitian survei dilakukan pada SMK Negeri Paket Keahlian Teknik Kendaraan Ringan (TKR) di DIY. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: (1) Materi uji kompetensi TKR memiliki 2 model. Model 1 menggunakan 4 soal uji, sedangkan model 2 menggunakan 8 soal, (2) Asesor terdiri dari pihak internal guru produktif dan penguji eksternal dari industri jasa servis kendaraan dan balai latihan kerja. Hasil Uji dilihat dari nilainya sangat baik, namun belum mencerminkan kompetensi sebenarnya. Siswa yang lulus uji mendapatkan sertifikat dari SMK bekerjasama dengan mitranya, yaitu bengkel servis kendaraan, MPKD, dan BLK.Kata kunci: Uji kompetensi, Sertifikasi

Abstract

Nowadays, vocational education program, SMK need to be encouraged to higher quality in order to fulfill competitive working area. Limitations of teachers competences should be minimized by teachers competences development programs. This lecturer dedication program aims to: (1) Increase teachers competence in maintaining, repairing and overhauling automatic transmissions using planetary gear unit realia media. (2) produce teaching handbooks document about automatic transmission material developed by teachers for teaching in TKRO Vocational Schools. The audiences of this program are 35 Automotive Light Vehicle Engineering Study Program teachers in the Yogyakarta City and Bantul Regency areas. The program was carried out using the theoretical training method and continued with the practical training in the maintenance and repair of the automatic transmission system. This training is based on the competencies needed in maintenance work and repair of automatic transmission of vehicles. Based on the program results, it can be concluded that (1) the competence of teachers in maintaining and repairing automatic transmission through this training can be increased. It can be seen from the average pretest and posttest of the trainees significantly increased. (2) Automatic transmission training supports teachers to be able to develop automatic transmission practice learning documents in accordance with the basic competencies of SMK.

Abstract

The Indonesian government runs Teaching Campus Program as part of the Merdeka Learning Campus Merdeka (MBKM) – Independent Campus Program – which aims to provide opportunities for students to learn and develop hard and soft skills through meaningful activities outside the classroom. Proactivity has been considered a crucial competency to support one's success and this study aims at determining the factors that affect it. The aims of this study is to analyses the effect of student’s internal motivation and digital literacy on their proactivity. This study use a quantitative method, it involved 132 students who participated in Phase 1 of the Teaching Campus Program. The data were collected using an online questionnaire. The data were analyzed by regression and the results showed that students’ internal motivation and digital literacy had a positive and significant influence on their proactivity. The result of study found that to enhance students’ proactivity, their internal motivation and digital literacy need to be put forward. To stimulate students’ internal motivation, they should be asked frequently about their learning goals and objectives in higher education, or their targets after graduation, while improving their digital literacy is by applying online learning (e-learning) in the classroom. The Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) learning system can also be implemented to improve digital literacy skills.

Abstract

Poor public transportation management makes motorcycles as the most practical and economical choice of transportation for both individuals and families. However, the ease of obtaining a motorbike is not accompanied by awareness of driving well and safely by the rider. Therefore, this community service activity aims to provide safety riding training for vocational school students who are over 17 years old, so they will have more comprehensive riding skills. The activity methods were organized through training, simulations, and practice of safe driving techniques. The training was hold on 11 and 18 May 2024 at the Honda Astra Motor training center, Sudirman street, Yogyakarta. It was attended by 26 students of SMKN 3 Yogyakarta. During the training, participants receive material about safety riding, simulate driving a vehicle using a riding simulator, and riding a motorbike on the safety riding circuit at the training location. The results of the training also showed that participants had increased understanding of safety riding, especially knowledge of speed limits for riding motorbikes in urban areas and the most effective and safe braking techniques to reduce motorbike speed

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi pengelolaan Lembaga Sertifikasi Profesi Pihak 1 (LSP-P1) di perguruan tinggi Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta dalam menyiapkan lulusan yang kompeten dan siap kerja. Dalam era globalisasi dan persaingan pasar tenaga kerja yang ketat, sertifikasi kompetensi menjadi penting untuk meningkatkan daya saing lulusan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan rancangan studi kasus, melibatkan 10 LSP-P1 di berbagai perguruan tinggi di Yogyakarta. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi dari pengelola LSP, manajer sertifikasi, dan manajer mutu. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa meskipun LSP-P1 memiliki struktur organisasi yang jelas dan skema sertifikasi aktif, masih terdapat tantangan dalam hal konsistensi layanan, keterbatasan sumber daya, serta kendala administratif. Beberapa LSP belum mengoptimalkan keterlibatan mitra industri dan peserta eksternal. Rekomendasi dari penelitian ini mencakup peningkatan dukungan administratif, penguatan kolaborasi dengan industri, serta pengembangan ekosistem sertifikasi yang lebih inklusif dan berkelanjutan. Temuan ini diharapkan dapat menjadi acuan bagi perguruan tinggi dan LSP dalam meningkatkan kualitas layanan sertifikasi untuk lulusan yang lebih kompeten di pasar kerja global

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengetahui kesesuaian antara soft skills yang dibutuhkan di Industri Otomotif dengan yang diajarkan di SMK Teknik Otomotif di DIY. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif. Pengumpulan data dilakukan menggunakan angket dan wawancara. Analisis data menggunakan teknik analisis deskriptif kualitatif dan analisis deskriptif kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan soft skills yang dibutuhkan di industri Otomotif dan diajarkan di SMK Teknik Otomotif yaitu komunikasi, kejujuran, bekerjasama, berpikir kritis, dapat mengatasi stres, kepemimpinan, mandiri, manajemen waktu, sopan/beretika, komitmen, manajemen diri, dan etos kerja yang baik. Dari daftar soft skills tersebut didapatkan urutan 3 soft skills teratas menurut industri yaitu kejujuran, etos kerja yang baik, dan bekerjasama. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa soft skills yang diajarkan di SMK Program Keahlian Teknik Otomotif sudah sesuai dengan yang dibutuhkan oleh industri di DIY.

Abstract

AbstractThe potential for human resource development  in Chassis' area of expertise is still very broad. In addition, the time span of its usefulness is still very long because it is not displaced by the transition of electric vehicles. Therefore, it is important to conduct research that develops the competence of the Chassis area of expertise, which then cultures it into the curriculum and learning of automotive workshops and partner industries. This type of research is qualitative descriptive research. Data were collected through surveys, interviews, FGDs and observations in the automotive industry regarding wheel alignment competencies.  The results showed that attitudes that can be observed and experienced developments when carrying out jobs in campus workshops and the chassis industry include accuracy in measuring chassis components, dexterity in carrying out the sequence of work and responsibility in working on vehicle maintenance and repair needs. In the aspect of automotive technology knowledge, components that can be observed for development includebasic knowledge, working principles, procedures, understanding of construction, knowledge of vehicle safety and security equipment requirements. Meanwhile, the ability to diagnose tire/wheel problems/damage skills according to manual repair procedures and skills in carrying out vehicle chassis maintenance procedures..

Abstract

Pemanfaatan teknologi dalam industri otomotif telah memberikan dampak signifikan terhadap efisiensi mesin kendaraan. Salah satu aspek kritis dalam sistem pembakaran adalah manajemen panas pada exhaust manifold. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkarakteristikkan distribusi panas, tekanan dan kecepatan aliran gas buang pada exhaust manifolddengan variasi putaran mesin menggunakan Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD). Dalam penelitian ini menggunakan empat variasi putaran mesin yaitu 750 rpm, 1000 rpm, 1500 rpm dan 2000 rpm. Setiap variasi putaran mesin memiliki suhu serta kecepatan aliran gas buang yang berbeda pada setiap saluran masuknya. Putaran mesin 750 rpm menaikkan suhu material manifold buang hingga 235°C. Suhu permukaan material meningkat secara signifikan seiring dengan kecepatan mesin. Perbandingan antara profil suhu gas buang dan suhu permukaan bahan exhaust manifoldmengungkapkan hubungan erat antara aktivitas mesin dan suhu permukaan. Peningkatan suhu seiring dengan kenaikan putaran mesin mencerminkan intensifikasi aktivitas pembakaran, memiliki dampak langsung pada kestabilan suhu manifold. Analisis tekanan gas buang menyoroti peningkatan tekanan seiring dengan peningkatan putaran mesin. Lonjakan tekanan pada putaran mesin tinggi mengindikasikan intensifikasi dalam volume dan kecepatan aliran gas buang selama fase pembakaran. Profil kecepatan aliran gas buang menunjukkan peningkatan sejalan dengan pertambahan putaran mesin.
