Abstract

This study aims to determine differences in stress levels in people with type 2 diabetes mellitus before and after being given treatment for the Stress Management Training intervention. The design used in this study is one group pretest-posttest design. Subjects in this study were people with type 2 diabetes mellitus male and female, aged 40-60 years, had a stress score with moderate to high stress levels, had a minimum high school education. Stress is measured using a stress scale of 39 items. Subjects in this study amounted to 5 people. Subjects were given treatment in the form of a Stress Management Training intervention which was a combination of knowledge and training skills in the form of mindfulness and positive thinking. Quantitative data analysis techniques using Wilcoxon sign rank analysis is to find out whether there is a difference in stress scores between pretest and posttest and posttest and follow-up on the research subjects. Qualitative data analysis from the results of observations, interviews, worksheets and evaluation sheets. The results of this study indicate that there are significant differences between stress scores before treatment with stress scores after being given treatment of the Stress Management Training intervention. Based on the quantitative results the Wilcoxon sign rank test shows that in this study there were significant differences between pretest and posttest with Z = -2.023ͣ (p <0.050). The results of the study can also be seen from the decrease in the mean score between pretest and posttest. Pretest with mean scores (= 92.20) and posttest with mean scores (= 76.60). The mean posttest value is lower than the pretest mean value. This means that there is a decrease in the score on the pretest mean to the posttest. Based on the explanation above it can be concluded that stress management training can reduce stress in people with type 2 diabetes mellitus.

Abstract

The issue of work engagement in the Ditlantas Polda X cannot be ignored. This is because as stated by Bakker & Demerouti (2008) that high work engagement can stimulate the energy and enthusiasm of organizational members at work. It was further stated that the work of individuals who have high energy and enthusiasm will certainly be better than those who have low energy and enthusiasm. This research is important, because if police members do not have work engagement, they will provide services carelessly, thus hampering the development of institutions. The data analysis method used in this study uses the Pearson product moment correlation statistical test and multiple correlations. Pearson product moment correlation analysis is one of several types of correlation tests used to determine the degree of closeness relationship between 2 or more variables that are interval or ratio scale, which with this test will return the value of the correlation coefficient whose values range between -1,0 and 1. A value of -1 is means a perfect negative correlation, 0 is means no correlation and 1 is means a perfect positive correlation. The results of this study indicate that the 64% correlation value of the work engagement variable is shown together (simultaneously) by the correlation between the loyalty variable and perceived organizational support. The data shows that there are still 36% of work engagement variables that are supported by variables or other aspects such as: culture in the workplace, organizational communication, managerial style that triggers trust and appreciation, leadership and corporate reputation itself, characteristics organizational (Lockwood, 2007).

Abstract

The emergence of outsourcing systems makes workers experience job insecurity in their work. This condition is due to the many policies that are biased by the workers especially related to the continuity of work in the future, because the companies can just do layoffs at in any time. so that this sense of security is very influential on job satisfaction of these employees. This study aims to determine empirically whether there is a relationship between job insecurity with job satisfaction among outsourced employees at PT.X. This research uses quantitative research methods with data collection using scale. The subjects in this study were PT.X employees with outsourcing employees who had worked for six months and had signed a work contract. The data analysis technique used is the Pearson product moment correlation technique. The results showed that the correlation coefficient rxy = -0.128 with p = 0.326 (p> 0.01). This means that between job insecurity and job satisfaction is not proven to have a significant relationship with outsourcing employees at PT.X.The conclusion of this study is that there is no significant relationship between job insecurity with job satisfaction among outsourcing employees at PT.X, this shows that there are other another factors of job insecurity that have a greater role to do with job satisfaction.

Abstract

Objective of this literature review is to understand on how employees’ strategies to support their mental health status. This is very important since they have to engage in an organization which their boss has poor communication style. The boss in this research means the middle manager. Roots of poor communication style among middle managers are culture and improperly promotion inside organization. Although the organization has been managed improperly, interestingly, some employees still engage loyally. Unfortunately, loyalty does not reflect good mental health status. It is because loyalty is influenced strongly by external factors such as highly unemployment rate. The best strategy to adapt in that inconvenience work situation is enhancing self-quality. Hoping the boss will improve his / her communication style is more likely unrealistic.
