Abstract

Education for all, or in popular terms, inclusive education, is one of the efforts made by the Indonesian government to realize the ideals of the nation. In the world of education itself, there are guidance and counseling services that help students to achieve their developmental tasks, which are, of course, in line with the concepts and goals of inclusive education. This literature study seeks to find common ground between guidance and counseling services in inclusive education, which sometimes overlap. From the analysis of several sources of articles, it can be concluded that guidance and counseling services play an important role in inclusive education; the provision of services is not much different from services in regular schools. All education systems, including guidance and counseling services, must adapt to the diversity of students. One way is to understand the characteristics of students, especially students with special needs.

Abstract

The cultural and traditional diversity found in Indonesia has given rise to various innovations in many fields. One of these is the traditional games of the Nusantara. These games, in relation to guidance and counseling, carry meaningful and relevant social, emotional, and spiritual values in the context of individual development. This study aims to explore the potential of Nusantara games as an alternative medium in a multicultural counseling approach. The research method used is a literature review through literature search, identification and selection of literature, synthesis analysis and evaluation of selected literature, drawing conclusions, and discussing the results of the review. Through a qualitative approach, this study analyzes the integration of Nusantara games in multicultural counseling. Ten Nusantara games were identified, including their general characteristics, related aspects, and effectiveness based on previous research. The findings indicate that Nusantara games have interrelated aspects in individual development, including personal, social, learning, and career aspects. The utilization of Nusantara games is important both as a means of cultural preservation and as a strategic approach in the counseling process. This study has limitations on the variety of games that do not include all kinds of traditional games in Indonesia, and only focuses on the potential and integration of games as a multicultural approach in Guidance and Counseling. The implications of these findings support the integration of Nusantara games as contextual and adaptive facilitators in counseling services.

Abstract

One form of problem that can hinder the dynamics of personality in the classroom is the arrogant behavior of students in interpersonal relationships, such as controlling group discussions, treating classmates disrespectfully, or showing superiority. Such behavior must be prevented early on through preventive group counseling programs and education. Local cultural values, such as andhap asor, emphasize social awareness, humility, and respect. These values are basic values for building constructive attitudes in society. This article aims to examine the integration of local cultural values of andhap asor into group guidance services through sociodrama techniques, as a preventive effort in shaping student character and preventing mild arrogant behavior in the school environment. This research uses the literature review method from research articles in the last five years (2021-2025) with keywords “Javanese cultural values”, “group services”, and “social role-playing techniques”. The results of this study indicate that sociodrama is a reflective and interactive technique where students can express their social experiences. If the principles of andhap asor are systematically combined with group guidance, students will learn humility, mutual respect, and independent determination of social roles. Research shows that integrating cultural values into group tutoring helps students understand material, participate in activities, and connect experiences in group tutoring to real-life social contexts. Research shows that integrating cultural values into group tutoring helps students understand material, participate in activities, and connect experiences in group tutoring to real-life social contexts. However, the scope of this article is limited to theoretical exploration without practical validation through field studies.

Abstract

: This study is based on the integrity of the Indonesian counselor's self-identity as an effort to gain expertise in the implementation of socio-religious-based counseling practices through down-to-earth views typical of Indonesian culture, not only theoretical views that are mostly developed by counseling figures who adhere to Western philosophies. One of the noble values of the Indonesian nation based on Islamic Archipelago culture is the trident teaching of Kiai Musta'in Romly's thoughts with some noble values, namely: 1) Obedience, 2) Diligence, 3) Honesty, 4) Patience, and 5) Sincerity. Kiai Musta'in Romly's trident of noble values produces a deep philosophy and presents a new view of the basic attitude of Indonesian counselors, and becomes a reference in the practice of counseling typical of Indonesian culture. The focus of this research is the identification of the noble values of the trident of Kiai Musta'in Romly's thought as a socio-religious-based construction of the Ideal Counselor character.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) in reducing social anxiety among university students. The research employed a quantitative method with a one-group pretest–posttest design. The participants were students experiencing moderate to high levels of social anxiety. Data were collected using a social anxiety scale that had been validated and tested for reliability, yielding a reliability coefficient of 0.884. The normality test showed a significance value of 0.200, indicating that the data were normally distributed. Hypothesis testing using a paired sample t-test in SPSS 23 for Windows resulted in a significance value (2-tailed) of 0.00 < 0.05, signifying a significant reduction in social anxiety after the intervention. The findings highlight that REBT not only effectively reduces negative irrational beliefs but also strengthens students’ confidence in social interactions within academic environments, especially those adapting to structured educational settings such as boarding systems. This demonstrates a contextual novelty compared to previous studies conducted on general student populations. Therefore, implementing REBT-based group counseling is highly recommended as a counseling intervention in higher education. Future research may expand by comparing boarding and non-boarding student populations, employing a control group, or incorporating follow-up assessments to evaluate the long-term effectiveness of REBT interventions

Abstract

This study explores the impact of feminist counseling on women’s mental health within the digital era, focusing on its effectiveness in addressing anxiety, depression, and gender-based trauma. Feminist counseling, a client-centered approach rooted in empowerment and structural analysis, has shown significant promise in improving mental health outcomes by helping women understand and navigate the systemic roots of their challenges. Following the PRISMA methodology, this study conducted a systematic literature review using major academic databases, including Scopus and ScienceDirect. The search strategy employed Boolean operators with keywords such as “Feminist Counseling,” AND “Women’s Mental Health,” AND “Digital Era,” AND “Online Counseling,” targeting studies published between 2009 and 2024. Inclusion criteria focused on peer-reviewed articles addressing feminist counseling, mental health, and digital technology, while studies that lacked relevance or methodological rigor were excluded. The results reveal significant benefits of integrating digital tools into feminist counseling, such as improved accessibility for underserved communities and the flexibility to accommodate clients' diverse needs. However, challenges include limited emotional engagement in virtual settings and inequitable access to digital platforms among marginalized populations. This study underscores the need for a more inclusive and technology-driven approach to feminist counseling to ensure its effectiveness and accessibility in the digital age. Recommendations include the development of affordable, secure, and culturally sensitive digital platforms, as well as training programs to help mental health professionals adapt feminist principles to virtual environments. By addressing existing barriers and leveraging technological advancements, feminist counseling can play a transformative role in creating an equitable and supportive mental health care system for women. These findings provide a foundation for future research, policy development, and innovation in feminist mental health interventions.

Abstract

The Javanese Sandur tradition offers a unique cultural context for developing career adaptability skills in Generation Z, yet its potential remains underexplored in existing career development research. This study employs a qualitative participatory ethnographic design over five months in Karang Village, Tuban Regency, East Java, involving participant observation, in-depth interviews with Sandur practitioners, and document analysis. Data were thematically analyzed using Maxqda with an inductive approach. The findings reveal that active engagement in Sandur cultivates four core adaptability dimensions—concern, control, curiosity, and confidence—through collective performance practices, role exploration, cultural responsibility, and problem-solving within the community. These results demonstrate that Sandur is not only a form of cultural preservation but also a strategic medium for strengthening career adaptability among Generation Z facing rapid technological and social transitions. This research contributes new insights into how traditional cultural practices can serve as contextualized pathways for enhancing career readiness in modern work environments.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the self-confidence of seventh-grade students in participating in school competitions and the factors that influence it. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach with interviews and observations as data collection techniques. The research subjects consisted of one seventh-grade student participating in a speech competition and one supervising teacher selected through purposive sampling. The collected data were analyzed using Miles & Huberman’s interactive analysis model, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that teacher support, peer encouragement, family motivation, and intensive practice were the main factors that help enhance student self-confidence. Meanwhile, the inhibiting factors included fear of making mistakes, nervousness when performing in public, and feelings of inferiority compared to other participants. After participating in the competition, the student demonstrated increased confidence in learning activities and appeared more comfortable speaking in front of the class. Future studies are recommended to involve a larger number of participants, explore different types of competitions, and consider additional psychological aspects such as self-efficacy and performance anxiety to strengthen the generalizability and depth of the findings.
