Jati Emas (Jurnal Aplikasi Teknik dan Pengabdian Masyarakat) is a scientific journal published by the Perkumpulan Dosen Indonesia Semesta (DIS), East Java Regional Board, with E-ISSN 2550-0821. The journal is published quarterly, in March, June, September, and December. Jati Emas aims to serve as a publication platform for scholarly works based on applied engineering and community service activities, particularly for early-career lecturers, students, and authors developing their scientific publication skills. The journal emphasizes author mentoring to ensure articles meet scientific standards, novelty, and publication ethics, and implements a published-in-ready system to accelerate the publication process. Its focus and scope include innovation and application of appropriate technologies, solving real community problems through scientific and engineering approaches, implementation of community service programs with direct impacts on community capacity building and welfare improvement, as well as the development of cross-disciplinary applied methods and practical solutions oriented toward social benefits.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to facilitate Tambakrejo Candirejo Magetan Village, to accelerate village communities realization that are able to recognize, prevent and overcome health problems independently, so that increases health level. The activity is based on the reality of many children who experience growth and development disorders. The reason is not only from the child's factor but also from the parent's ignorance about the causes and how to overcome it. Many mothers do not want to weigh their children because they are embarrassed if their child's weight decreases. In addition, the elderly health condition also needs to be considered because most of the community still considers that elderly people who are sick are common because they are old and do not need serious treatment. This activity is a combination of participatory rural appraisal, community development, persuasion and education models by empowering mothers of toddlers and health cadres, the elderly and elderly cadres. The implementation of activities through training under the guidance of community service workers, village bidan, and village health post nurses supported by the Village Head along with village officials and students. The material provided includes stimulation of early detection of child growth and development interventions, recognizing signs of diabetes mellitus and hypertension and how to handle them. The results of the activities were monitored and followed up by the Head of Tambakrejo Village, the Head of Candirejo Health Center and the Magetan Health Office through village bidan and village health center nurses (ponkesdes).

Abstract

Gapoktan Karya Bakti is a farmer group in Kenongo Village, Gucialit District, Lumajang Regency, which is able to produce 9.6 tons of robusta coffee annually. To overcome the problem of coffee waste and increase added value for farmers, it is necessary to develop products from cascara. Cascara (coffee skin) has a fairly high antioxidant content so that it has great potential to be used as a new product (diversification of food products). This activity was carried out to provide counseling on the cascara tea making process, handover of drying technology, and packaging label design at Gapoktan Karya Bakti to increase efficiency in cascara processing, help strengthen brand identity, and expand the reach of the cascara tea market. The counseling material is in the form of an explanation related to the cascara tea making process and how to use drying technology in the production process. The results of the community service activities are expected to improve the economy of Gapoktan Karya Bakti members and support the zero waste concept from the utilization of coffee waste.

Abstract

Cakru Village in Jember Regency, Indonesia, has great economic and cultural potential but has not been optimally utilized. Data collection of MSMEs from various hamlets shows the diversity of local economic sectors. This activity aims to increase public awareness of this potential through socialization and rebranding of social media. This program involves preparation by means of observation and interviews, implementation of socialization, and evaluation using pre-test and post-test. The results of the pre-test showed that public knowledge of village potential was still low. After the socialization, there was a significant increase in awareness of village potential from the Cakru Village community who participated in the socialization, as much as 90%, especially regarding the potential of MSMEs and Japanese protection tourism. In addition, the rebranding of Instagram from the old account to the new account @discoverycakru.id successfully introduced MSMEs and historical sites with a focus on innovative content. This program shows the effectiveness of social media in increasing visibility and support for the local economy, as well as introducing the unique culture of Cakru Village to a wider audience.

Abstract

The Community Service Program at SMK Negeri 1 Darul Kamal is designed to enhance the scientific writing skills of teachers, with the aim of improving the quality of publications and teaching materials. The program includes an initial socialization of its objectives, discussions to identify writing needs, as well as careful coordination and development of training modules. Conducted through interactive workshops, the training utilizes advanced technologies such as data analysis software and scientific reference management tools. Evaluation of the program through pre-test and post-test questionnaires demonstrated significant improvements in methodology understanding, writing habits, motivation for writing, and mastery of educational technology. Notable improvements were recorded with average scores for understanding research methodologies increasing from 2.9 to 4.4, and motivation for writing rising from 2.6 to 3.6. These results validate the success of the training in improving both the quality and efficiency of scientific writing among teachers. Based on these findings, it is recommended that similar training programs be extended to more educators across Indonesia to help raise educational standards and enhance teacher professionalism nationally. This initiative not only supports profession development but also aligns with national educational goals, thereby making a significant contribution to the academic community.

Abstract

The Telaga Kodok area is one of the agricultural production centers in Maluku Province, especially for horticultural crops. Farmers usually rely on chemical fertilizer inputs, but lately there has been a shortage of fertilizer, the impact of which is that the growth and production of farmers' crops have decreased. The solution alternative is to use organic fertilizer made from agricultural waste in the form of harvest residues and other raw materials that can be enriched using Gliricidea prunings because they are rich in nitrogen. The purpose of this program is to overcome fertilizer limitations as well as to increase agricultural production and improve the income of farmer groups. The approach method is participatory with participants as the target. The stages of the activity include FGD (focus group discussion) training on the manufacture and benefits of organic fertilizer, and organic fertilizer manufacturing techniques. From the FGD training activities, there was a paradigm shift in the perspective of farmer groups in the use of organic fertilizer as a soil fertilizer. Members of farmer group have understood how to make organic fertilizer from raw materials of agricultural waste. Organic fertilizer produced from agricultural waste that is put into an incubation tank with a volume of 4.05 m3 is 2.0 m3 of organic fertilizer. This organic fertilizer when applied to cayenne pepper plants, after one month from planting, appears to be able to promote good plant growth and development.

Abstract

An orphanage is a place of residence and care, both for orphans and for abandoned children. The Gelora Indah Mosque Orphanage in Purwokerto is inhabited by thirteen teenagers. The potential of the second floor attic of this orphanage has not been maximized. With the condition of the yard land that is not spacious and to equip the teenagers with soft skills, one technology that can be applied is the vertiminaponic technique. This technique combines plant cultivation (hydroponics) and fish (aquaculture) in one place/land that is arranged vertically. Community service activities are carried out using the lecture method followed by cultivation assistance. The results of community service show an increase in knowledge and concepts about vertiminaponic cultivation of the orphanage teenagers by 83.34% and 49.58%. Meanwhile, when viewed from the aspect of knowledge about equipment and stages in vertiminaponic cultivation, there is an increase of 65.26% and 70.32%. This activity is an initiation in order to increase food independence for the orphanage teenagers through diversification of processed products from cultivation.

Abstract

The understanding and compliance with the regulations of the Drug and Food Supervisory Authority (BPOM) in the food industry, especially for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Indonesia should be a concern for entrepreneurs so that the products produced are acceptable to modern society today. The packaging process is one of the efforts to maintain the quality, safety and hygiene of products, also as a medium of promotion and information of products marketed to consumers. MSMEs Kampioen becomes an object in the community service activities carried out by the Team of Polytechnic ATI Padang due to the eligibility of partners and business permits that already meet the existing legality. Observations and interviews were conducted to find out the obstacles experienced by MSMEs. The obstacles facing MSMEs are products that have not yet been able to compete to the supermarket because the unqualified packaging of supermarkets and BPOM. The packaging machines used are old enough and almost broken. In this context, the graphical design of packaging that meets BPOM standards and the use of Continuous Band Sealer technology is an important factor in improving competitiveness and market access for MSME. These activities ensure the benefits of accompanying activities, such as improved efficiency and production safety, improved understanding of business management, finance, and marketing, and expansion of marketing. Thus, these activities provide practical guidance and specific solutions to help MSMEs boost growth and competitiveness in the food industry sector.

Abstract

Many community service activities have been carried out and published. The aim of writing this article is to review community service activities in the field of history education. The review was carried out by searching online-based activity publications. The search results are summarized and grouped according to year, partner or target group, activity theme and activity method. Analysis was carried out for the number of publications according to grouping categories. The results of the review show a trend towards an increase in the number of publications. Many history teachers become partners in activities with learning themes and carried out using socialization methods.

Abstract

Coffee is a fairly large plantation commodity in Indonesia. Coffee drinks are a coffee variant product that is in great demand by the public. The process of making coffee drinks can be optimized with the application of technology. The purpose of writing this article is to describe the application of a clear coffee machine with a steam distillation system that can be utilized by the small business sector of coffee beverage processing. Clear coffee is an innovation resulting from a patented research by lecturers so that it can be developed into a coffee beverage production tool. Making clear coffee uses the principle of steam distillation using a tube-shaped device with stainless steel material. The distillation process is optimized by using a 15 watt electric aerator. Heating is done with an LPG-fueled heater. The application of technology is carried out with the stages of design, tool making and tool testing. The trial was carried out by processing 1 kg of coffee powder with 500 ml of water. The results of the trial showed that the process time was 25 minutes with relatively small consumption of electricity and LPG fuel. This clear coffee machine has the potential to be applied in the production of coffee drinks.

Abstract

Sugihmanik, Tanggungharjo District, Grobogan Regency have tofu industry center with 30 Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME). It is hoped that these MSMEs can improve the community's economy, but on the other hand they can also cause pollution problems for the environment. The waste produced in tofu processing production activities reaches an average of 67,997 m3/day from tofu production, with a total demand for soybeans of around 3200 kg/day. Some of this waste is thrown into rivers, which hurts the ecosystem in a chain that results in the death of aquatic animals, the agricultural environment, and unpleasant odors. Based on the problems in MSMEs, this activity proposes the technology design for converting biogas gas into electricity. The method to solve this problem is to utilize energy from tofu industry waste converted into electrical energy. In implementing biogas conversion technology, it can be tested with a partner electricity load of 1500 watts. However, this technology still has several obstacles. When changing modes, the generator machine for converting biogas into electrical energy requires a manual synchronization system. So, it requires training from partners. In the future, this activity will continue with the development of automatic synchronizing control systems, making it easier to use
