Abstract

This study investigates the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) as a virtual tutor and its impact on students' self-efficacy in learning. Interviews, observations, and documentation from 30-40 students across various disciplines were analyzed using a mixed-methods approach. Findings show that AI enhances students' self-efficacy by providing quick, personalized feedback, boosting confidence in completing academic tasks. However, students reported challenges with complex topics requiring human-like explanations. Key factors influencing perceptions of AI included ease of use and technological comfort, which positively correlated with the perceived effectiveness of AI as a tutor. The study highlights the potential of AI to support learning but emphasizes the need for a balance with human interaction, especially for more complex subjects. This research contributes to understanding AI’s role in education. It offers insights for enhancing AI integration, recommending further development and training programs to improve students' digital literacy and engagement with AI systems

Abstract

The importance of Computational Thinking (CT) ability is not only one of the essential competencies of the 21st century but also a foundation for solving complex problems and building high-level thinking skills. This study aims to explore the computational thinking (CT) ability of new students in the physics education study program on vector material. The research method used is qualitatively, involving eight new physics education students at the Islamic University of Madura as respondents. Data were collected through a test instrument, and each question refers to the computational thinking indicator (Decomposition, abstraction, algorithm, and generalization). The results of data analysis show that the indicators of students' CT abilities on a scale of 4 consist of decomposition with an average value of 3.125, abstraction 2.438, algorithm 2.125, and generalization 1.687. Based on the study results, it can be concluded that the CT skills of first-year students at the Islamic University of Madura on vector material are included in the moderate category. Several indicators of CT abilities are still challenging for students, especially in developing algorithms and generalizations. Therefore, further research is needed to improve students' computational thinking abilities to face the challenges of the 21st century.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine the role of artificial intelligence (AI) in improving the quality of early childhood education (PAUD). This study reviews relevant journals, books, and other academic sources using a qualitative approach to literature research. The findings indicate that AI can significantly enhance the quality of PAUD by facilitating access to educational content and providing personalized learning experiences. AI technologies, such as visual mentors, voice assistants, intelligent content, and personalized learning platforms, support early childhood development and can adapt to children’s individual needs. AI applications like ChatGPT, Kahoot, and Animaker also contribute to interactive and adaptive learning environments, making learning more engaging and efficient. By utilizing AI, PAUD can offer more compelling content delivery, improve the stimulation of child development, and introduce children to digital tools in an age-appropriate way. This allows for a more meaningful learning experience that fosters early digital literacy and supports adaptive learning processes.

Abstract

This study aimed to investigate the impact of AI-based blended learning on the learning achievement of second-year physics students at the College of Education. The researchers employed a quasi-experimental design, with the study population comprising second-year students in the physics department. A purposive sample of 40 students was selected and divided into two equivalent groups: an experimental group and a control group, each consisting of 20 students. The researchers used achievement tests as data-collection tools, and appropriate statistical methods were applied to analyze the data using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS). The study concluded with several findings, the most significant of which included the presence of statistically significant differences at the 0.05 significance level in the academic achievement of second-year students in mathematics, favouring the experimental group that was taught using an AI-based blended learning strategy. Based on these results, the researchers recommended establishing a blended-learning infrastructure by preparing human resources and equipping computer laboratories appropriately to implement the blended-learning strategy effectively. They also suggested adopting blended learning strategies in teaching science in schools and universities, and organizing workshops and training sessions for faculty members on AI-based blended learning.

Abstract

Mathematics learning at the elementary level often presents difficulties, especially when introducing abstract concepts such as units of length. To overcome these challenges, engaging and concrete instructional media are required to support students’ understanding. This study aimed to develop Smart Ladder learning media for length units by applying the ADDIE development model, which consists of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The research involved media experts, material experts, instructional experts, teachers, and students as respondents. Data were collected through interviews, questionnaires, and pre- and post-test evaluations. Validation results showed scores of 78.12 (good) from media experts, 88.75 (very good) from material experts, and 78.94 (good) from instructional experts. Teacher responses reached 97.36 (very good), while student trials averaged 83.99 (very good), improving from 78.07 in the first trial to 89.92 in the second. Student achievement also increased from an average pre-test score of 54.58 to a post-test score of 84.58. These findings confirm the feasibility and effectiveness of Smart Ladder media, highlighting its novelty in transforming abstract mathematics into tangible, interactive experiences. The study contributes to the field of educational media development, suggesting that similar models can be adapted for other mathematical concepts to enhance meaningful learning at the elementary level.

Abstract

This study investigates the integration of digital applications in Tahfidzul Qur’an learning to examine both opportunities and challenges in their implementation. The main objective is to understand how technology affects the effectiveness of memorization, as well as the factors that support or hinder its use. A qualitative field research design was employed, involving observations of memorization practices, interviews with teachers, students, and administrators, and documentation of teaching materials. Findings reveal several challenges: limited technical skills among teachers, insufficient technological infrastructure, resistance to adopting digital tools, and a lack of curriculum-aligned digital resources. Despite these barriers, digital applications show strong potential to enhance students’ motivation, engagement, and retention in Qur’an memorization. The novelty of this research lies in its systematic analysis of how traditional memorization methods can be adapted within a digital framework, highlighting both pedagogical and managerial dimensions. The study recommends targeted teacher training, infrastructure development, and collaboration with educational technology developers to design suitable digital resources. These efforts are expected to strengthen the quality of Islamic education and ensure its relevance in the digital era.

Abstract

Creative thinking is an essential skill in 21st-century learning, yet many students still face difficulties in developing fluency, flexibility, elaboration, and originality. This study aims to develop a game-based learning medium called LUPAS (Ludo IPAS) to address these challenges in the topic of continents and countries. The research employed the ADDIE model, covering the stages of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. Data collection through interviews and observations identified students’ learning needs, which became the basis for designing the LUPAS media. Expert validation showed high feasibility, with scores of 93.3% from material experts and 90.6% from media experts, both categorized as “very valid.” Implementation used a one-group pretest-posttest pre-experimental design with sixth-grade students. The N-Gain test revealed an average score of 0.6161 (medium category) and an N-Gain percentage of 62%, indicating moderate effectiveness in enhancing creative thinking skills. The study contributes to game-based learning innovation by demonstrating that LUPAS is both feasible and effective in fostering higher-order thinking.
