Abstract

Problems with customer satisfaction at PT. Grab Indonesia in Ciamis Regency, where certain customers are still dissatisfied with the services offered, served as the inspiration for this study. This may be affected by how well PT Grab Indonesia's drivers perform in the Ciamis Regency region.  An estimated t value of 12.965 and a significance value of 0.0000.05 indicated that Tangible (Physical Evidence) has a substantial impact on customer satisfaction.  With a t count of 1.101 and a significance value of 0.274>0.05, reliability does not significantly influence customer happiness.  With a t count of 2.677 and a significance value of 0.0090.05, responsiveness has a favorable and substantial impact on consumer power.  With a t count of -3.293 and a significance value of 0.001 to 0.05, assurance has a favorable and substantial impact on organizational commitment.  With a t count of 4.668 and a significance value of 0.0000.05, Emphaty has a favorable and significant impact on customer satisfaction. As can be observed from the significant value of 0.00 0.05 and the computed F value of 66.765, which is higher than the F table, Service Quality characteristics such as tangible, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, and empathy jointly affect Customer Satisfaction. The tangible variable, or physical evidence, has the largest beta of all the variables, making it the variable that is most dominant when compared to other variables. The effect of service quality characteristics on customer satisfaction was found to be 78% Rsquare in this study, while the remaining 22% was influenced by other variables that were not examined.

Abstract

The Treasury Single Account (TSA) was introduced by the global international financial institutions specifically the World and IMF to help countries block leakages and other wastages that are associated with corrupt practices in the management of the public funds by the public servants. The TSA was embraced by the Nigerian Government with the same objective of blocking leakages and fostering transparency in public services. This has been behind the background of the allegations of corrupt practices, mismanagement, leakages, waste and squandering of public resources by the public servants who dubiously maintained several accounts for one ministry or agency. This study investigated the role played by TSA in the promotion of transparency, good governance, and preventing corrupt practices. The study used documented sources for assembling data involving the existing body of literature after thoroughly identifying the clear gap for contribution to knowledge. The sources obtained were discussed using empiricism where statistical data were analysed on the impact of TSA on preventing leakages and corrupt practices. The study discovered that the introduction of TSA in the Nigerian public service was a good reform and a success in minimising dubious transactions, corrupt practices, and the operation of suspicious redundant accounts by Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) of Government. The study therefore, recommends that there is a need for full automation and digitalisation of governmental processes in Nigeria to reflect in other sectors of governance which can help in preventing leakages, malpractices, corrupt practices, and misgovernance.

Abstract

This article explores the consequences of police-community relationships for crime reduction in the Tzaneen area of the Limpopo province of South Africa. This is relevant because even though the South African Police Service (SAPS) typically works under pressure and under difficult conditions of lack of resources and internal conflicts, the Tzaneen community still believes that it is the responsibility of the police to ensure a lower crime rate and a safer community. Presently, there are ineffective crime reduction programmes in the Tzaneen area, despite efforts such as ‘community policing forums’, ‘sector crime forums’, ‘take a Girl Child to Work’, and ‘Adopt a Cop’, which are practised in certain community areas in Tzaneen. Notwithstanding all these measures, the crime rate is high in the Tzaneen area. A qualitative interview method was used to collect data. Eighteen participants were interviewed from a selected panel of experts from the SAPS, community leaders, non-governmental organisations, and business communities by making use of open-ended questions. The study adopted purposive sampling. The study revealed several reasons for the high crime rate in the Tzaneen policing area, such as police corruption, lack of adequate communication between the police and the Tzaneen community, lack of community knowledge of the functions of the criminal justice system, and low morale on the part of policing organisations as some of the major reasons for the poor police-community relationship in the Tzaneen area of Limpopo. The study recommends ways that can strengthen the police-community relationship and reduce the crime rate in the Tzaneen area of Limpopo.

Abstract

Ecotourism is tourism development that prioritizes the sustainability of tourist objects in a sustainable manner that arises as a response to natural conditions that experience over-exploitation and are uncontrollable which cause damage to tourist objects that threaten their sustainability. Ecotourism is a form of tourism that takes place at tourist objects without damaging or disturbing the sustainability of these tourism objects. Semenanjung Nusaniwe is in Nusaniwe District in Ambon City, has more than 22 tourist objects that have been developed but have not been touched by development. Such conditions require analysis that will guide future developments. This writing is based on the results of research on 225 respondents to visitors to tourist attractions, as well as people who live around tourist attractions. The analysis used is the pattern of estimating the economic value of ecotourism based on the travel cost method (TCM). The determination of the socio-economic factors that affect the cost of travel to the Nusaniwe Peninsula area is tested using the Linear Regression Method. The results of the study show that many tourist objects in Nusaniwe District have been identified, and some have not been identified. This tourism object is always visited by the community and can generate income. The highest consumer surplus value is in the Tanjung Batu Konde Beach Tourist Attraction Object (ODTW), which is IDR. 208,355.00, and the lowest is at Sumber Jaya Beach, namely IDR. 12,545.50. The highest total economic value is in Tanjung Batu Konde, namely IDR. 352,033,800.00, and the lowest is also found at Sumber Jaya Beach, namely IDR. 8,480,758.00. Starting from the results of the calculations above, it can be concluded that if the tourism objects in Nusaniwe Sub district can be well developed, it is certain that each OTDW will be able to contribute to increasing income for the community around the tourist attraction as well as for the Village Government, State Government and even the City Government.

Abstract

The implementation of social policies for Concurrent Government Affairs in the Nias Archipelago Area, Sumatera Utara Province, is still experiencing inequality, especially from the aspect of budget allocation. This article aims to analyze these problems, using a qualitative descriptive method, data sourced from the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia (2022). We use data analysis techniques through data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results showed that (1) out of 33 regencies/cities in Sumatera Utara Province, 5 regencies/cities in the Nias Archipelago Area, namely Nias Regency, Nias Selatan Regency, Nias Utara Regency, Nias Barat Regency, and Gunungsitoli City experienced significant imbalances in budget extreme allocations with 28 non-island (mainland) regions and below the provincial average. The lack of social policies will have a significant effect on the implementation of Optional Concurrent Government Affairs in the archipelago; and (2) Conceptually, it is important to pay attention to the principles of accountability, efficiency, externality, and national strategic interests in treating archipelagic areas through increased transfer funds – including the General Allocation Fund (DAU) and the Special Allocation Fund (DAK) - as specifically regulated in Law Number 23 of 2014 concerning Local Government. It is hoped that the novelty of this research can become material for evaluating policies of the central and provincial governments. This research can have implications for accelerating development, especially in island areas.

Abstract

Black campaigns that occurred in 2014 and 2019 also have the potential to emerge in the 2024 general elections in Indonesia. Not only does black campaigning have the potential to create public distrust of a fair electoral process, but it also has the potential to polarize society. This phenomenon has not been scientifically considered in previous studies. This study focuses on the question, "What is the potential for black campaigns that occurred in 2014 and 2019 to emerge in the 2024 general election in Indonesia?" This qualitative study investigates the forms and patterns of black campaign narratives disseminated through online media coverage. The findings of this study show that the black campaign that occurred in 2014 has the same pattern and narrative in 2019. Issues such as the involvement of the Indonesian Communist Party, Race, Human Rights, Radicalism, and Religion became issues that did not appear in the black campaign in the 2014 and 2019 general elections. The patterns and narratives of black campaigns that occurred in 2014 and 2019 can be used as references and preferences in looking at black campaign issues that have the potential to appear in the 2024 general elections. This study also recommends the importance of analyzing the factors that influence the emergence of black campaigns with the same patterns and narratives in 2014 and 2019 that have the potential to appear in the 2024 general elections in Indonesia.

Abstract

Information and communication technology has a significant impact on various aspects. Its developments affect daily life, and also give a new color to the political-security dynamics, especially in Indonesia. This depends on the purpose of using information and communication technology, which if not regulated, will become a double-edged sword. The typology of threats is also increasingly varied and transforming, including in the context of security threats in the form of terrorism which involves many dimensions ranging from religion-based terrorism to cyber-based terrorism. The state's response to cyber terrorism as a new security threat phenomenon is examined in this paper in a balanced way using an inward-looking and outward-looking perspective. By using qualitative research methods and descriptive research types, the existing data related to what has been done by Indonesia are interpreted into the form of a governance conception in the context of countering cyber terrorism. Indonesia has identified domestic conditions to be able to optimize its resources. At the same time, Indonesia is also trying to improve its capabilities by conducting international cooperation. So that the governance of countering cyber terrorism in Indonesia still leaves several problems that need to be resolved, such as institutional barriers including organizational culture which is the key to coordination between institutions related to countering cyber terrorism in Indonesia.

Abstract

This research explores the intricate interplay between female leadership style, organizational culture, work motivation, and lecturer performance in private universities located in Tangerang City, aiming to shed light on their collective impact on education quality. Employing a quantitative survey approach with a sample of 382 lecturers chosen through simple random sampling, data analysis was executed using Partial Least Square (PLS) software version 3.0. The results unveiled a counterintuitive negative influence of female leadership style on lecturer performance, substantiated by a significant t-statistic value of 2.176 (p-value = 0.030 < 0.05). Conversely, organizational culture exhibited a potent positive effect, with a remarkable t-statistic value of 17.823 (p-value = 0), emphasizing its pivotal role in elevating lecturer performance. In conclusion, this study underscores the need for women in leadership to cultivate a supportive organizational culture to mitigate potential detrimental effects on lecturer performance, ultimately enhancing the overall educational quality of private universities in Tangerang City. These findings have broader implications for similar educational contexts and organizational leadership practices, highlighting the importance of fostering inclusive and conducive environments.
