Statins remain the gold-standard pharmacologic therapy for hypercholesterolemia, but their use is occasionally limited by statin-associated muscle symptoms (SAMS), of which rhabdomyolysis is the most severe form (Dicken et al., 2022; Safitri et al., 2021). To systematically synthesize evidence published between 2010 and 2025 on the incidence, molecular mechanisms, genetic determinants, and preventive management of statin-induced rhabdomyolysis in hypercholesterolemic populations, and to identify what current evidence still leaves unresolved. A narrative literature review was conducted using Google Scholar and PubMed with the Boolean strategy ("statin*" OR "HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor*") AND ("rhabdomyolysis" OR "myopathy" OR "statin-associated muscle symptoms") AND "hypercholesterolemia". Screening followed a three-stage PRISMA-style process (identification, title/abstract screening, full-text eligibility), and included studies were appraised narratively for design, sample size, and completeness of reported outcomes, prioritizing peer-reviewed sources indexed in Scopus or Sinta and published in 2021-2025, while retaining seminal 2010-2018 randomized trials as primary sources of the quantitative incidence data. Six primary clinical studies (n = 24 to 584,784) reported rhabdomyolysis incidences ranging from 0.003% with statin monotherapy to 4.17% under high-dose oncology co-administration; risk rose sharply with fibrate co-therapy (particularly gemfibrozil), high-dose or lipophilic statins, and loss-of-function SLCO1B1 variants (Turongkaravee et al., 2021). Rhabdomyolysis attributable to statin monotherapy is rare (generally <0.1%), but risk increases materially with high-dose or lipophilic statins, fibrate co-administration, strenuous physical exertion, and genetic predisposition. Individualized risk assessment-incorporating dose selection, drug-interaction screening, and, where available, SLCO1B1 genotyping-together with creatine kinase monitoring can help preserve the cardiovascular benefit of statins while minimizing myotoxic risk.

Offensive strokes are the primary scoring actions in modern table tennis, yet biomechanical evidence remains fragmented. This systematic review synthesized biomechanical aspects and measurement techniques of offensive table tennis strokes following the PRISMA 2020 guidelines. From 239 Scopus records, 20 studies published between 2015 and 2026 met the inclusion criteria after duplicate removal and title, abstract, and full-text screening. Due to heterogeneity in tasks, samples, and outcome measures, a meta-analysis was not conducted; instead, findings were synthesized thematically using the three-stage approach of Thomas and Harden (2008). Methodological quality was assessed using the Joanna Briggs Institute checklists, with strong inter-reviewer agreement (κ = 0.82). Most studies focused on the topspin forehand, followed by the backhand topspin and loop strokes. Overall, offensive strokes were identified as whole-body proximal-to-distal kinetic-chain movements, in which force is generated by the lower limbs and trunk and transferred through the shoulder, elbow, and wrist. Joint angles, angular velocities, joint moments, and muscle activation patterns varied according to skill level, sex, incoming spin, and stroke direction. Three-dimensional optical motion capture, inertial sensors, force plates, surface electromyography, and musculoskeletal modelling were the predominant measurement methods, while statistical parametric mapping has emerged as a prominent analytical approach. Of the 20 studies, 14 were rated high quality and 6 moderate quality, with sample sizes ranging from 6 to 42 participants (median ≈ 13). However, the findings should be interpreted cautiously because of small samples, laboratory-based conditions, and the predominance of topspin forehand research.

Self-confidence and related psychological competencies are widely regarded as decisive determinants of success in table tennis, a fast and tactically dense racket sport in which cognitive-affective control frequently separates players of comparable technical ability. Despite growing empirical interest, evidence on how deliberate mental training shapes confidence and psychological performance in this population has not been consolidated. This systematic literature review synthesises peer-reviewed evidence on the types of mental training applied to table tennis athletes and their effects on self-confidence and psychological performance. The review followed the PRISMA 2020 framework, searching the Scopus database and identifying 1,703 records published between 2021 and 2025. After duplicate removal and sequential title–abstract and full-text screening against predefined eligibility criteria, eighteen studies were retained for qualitative synthesis. Thematic analysis showed that structured mental-skills programmes, particularly visuo-motor behaviour rehearsal and mindfulness, consistently reduced competitive anxiety and enhanced mental toughness, whereas confidence, self-efficacy, motivation, and resilience emerged as robust correlates of technical accuracy and competitive performance. The findings advance a cognitive-affective account of table tennis expertise and offer actionable guidance for coaches, while underscoring the need for larger randomised trials and standardised confidence measures.

Extracurricular activities in Special Schools (SLB) are strategic instruments for developing the potential of students with special needs. This systematic review aims to (1) assess the influence of extracurricular activity management on student developmental outcomes in special education settings; and (2) examine factors affecting learning outcomes of SLB students within extracurricular contexts. A Systematic Literature Review was conducted following PRISMA 2020 guidelines across Google Scholar, ERIC, ScienceDirect, and institutional repositories (2015–2026). From 425 identified records, 35 studies met inclusion criteria after dual independent screening (Cohen's κ = 0.87). Quality appraisal used the JBI Critical Appraisal Checklist. Thematic synthesis identified four management functions planning, organizing, implementing, and supervising associated with developmental outcomes. Frequency analysis revealed that independence (n=18; 51.4%), social skills (n=16; 45.7%), self-confidence (n=14; 40.0%), and non-academic achievement (n=12; 34.3%) were the most frequently reported outcomes. Factors affecting outcomes clustered into internal factors (interest, talent, motivation, physical condition) and external factors (parental support, facilities, teacher competence, inclusive school culture). These findings indicate that adaptive, sustainable extracurricular management functions as an effective mechanism for enhancing educational effectiveness in special education. A Management–Outcome Mediation Model is proposed, specifying planning quality as a mediator, organizing structure as a moderator, implementation intensity as a direct predictor, and supervision continuity as a sustainability moderator.

Sarcopenia, the age-related loss of skeletal muscle mass, strength, and physical function, is a growing public health concern that undermines independence and increases the risk of falls, disability, and mortality in ageing populations. This systematic literature review examined the effectiveness of resistance training for preventing sarcopenia and preserving muscle outcomes in older adults, and the programme characteristics associated with better results. The review followed the PRISMA 2020 framework. A structured search of the Scopus database, restricted to English-language journal articles published between 2016 and 2025, initially identified 296 records. After removal of duplicates, title and abstract screening, and full-text eligibility assessment against predefined criteria, 15 controlled intervention studies were included in the synthesis. A thematic synthesis showed that resistance and strength training consistently improved handgrip strength, lower-limb force, and physical performance, with more variable effects on muscle mass indices. Effective programmes typically involved supervised or technology-supported training two to three times weekly over 8 to 24 weeks, and combining training with protein supplementation appeared to enhance muscle outcomes. The findings support resistance training as a central preventive strategy while highlighting heterogeneity in dosing, populations, and outcome measures. Future trials should standardise sarcopenia outcomes and clarify optimal training parameters across diverse older populations.

Knee osteoarthritis is a leading cause of chronic pain, mobility restriction, and disability among adults worldwide, yet many affected individuals remain physically inactive. Walking is an accessible, low-cost mode of physical activity, but the effectiveness of structured walking exercise programs for pain relief and functional improvement has not been consolidated across walking modalities. This systematic literature review synthesised evidence on the effects of walking exercise programs in adults with knee osteoarthritis, following the PRISMA 2020 framework. A structured Boolean search of the Scopus database identified 263 records, and after removal of duplicates and multistage screening against predefined eligibility criteria, 20 primary studies were included. The included studies encompassed overground, community, treadmill-based, aquatic, and retro-walking programs delivered across nine countries and diverse designs. Synthesis showed that walking exercise programs consistently reduced knee pain and improved physical function, walking capacity, and lower-limb strength, with supervised, progressively dosed, and education-supported programs yielding the most consistent benefits. Findings support walking as an effective first-line self-management strategy while highlighting heterogeneity in dosing and outcome measurement. Future trials should standardise dosing parameters, extend follow-up, and strengthen methodological rigour to confirm long-term structural and symptomatic effects.

Character education has become a central concern for schools worldwide, and physical activity is increasingly proposed as a vehicle for cultivating moral and psychosocial qualities. Pencak silat and other martial arts are widely claimed to build discipline, respect, and self-control, yet the empirical basis for these claims has not been systematically consolidated. This review synthesises peer-reviewed evidence on the contribution of pencak silat and martial arts to students' character development and identifies which character traits are most frequently reported. Following the PRISMA 2020 guideline, a structured Scopus search identified 414 records; after duplicate removal and two-stage screening, 20 studies were included and appraised with the Mixed Methods Appraisal Tool. Studies spanned quantitative, qualitative, and mixed-methods designs across nine countries and were synthesised thematically. The evidence indicates that martial arts can foster self-regulation, values and moral character, self-esteem, and transferable life skills, although several rigorous studies reported null or adverse effects and outcomes depended strongly on pedagogical design and traditional emphasis. Values and moral character, self-regulation, and aggression regulation were the most frequently reported outcomes, while pencak silat remained markedly under-represented. Martial arts appear to be promising but conditional vehicles for character development, requiring intentionally designed, values-explicit programmes.

Interactive performance measurement systems may be associated with firm performance by encouraging organizational responses to performance information, while technological turbulence may increase the relevance of such interactive use. Drawing on contingency theory and Organizational Information Processing Theory, this study examines whether organizational innovativeness mediates the association between interactive use of performance measurement systems (IPMS) and relative firm performance and whether technological turbulence conditions that indirect association. A cross-sectional, firm-level survey of 102 screened medium-sized manufacturing establishments in Greater Tangerang, Indonesia, was analyzed using PLS-SEM. The multi-item measures showed satisfactory reliability (Cronbach's alpha = 0.792-0.905) and convergent and discriminant validity. Sensitivity analysis indicated that, at alpha = 0.05 and power = 0.80, N = 102 could detect an incremental f² of approximately 0.078; the observed interaction f² was 0.109. IPMS was positively associated with organizational innovativeness (β = 0.476, p < .001), which was positively associated with relative firm performance (β = 0.456, p < .001). The indirect effect was significant (β = 0.217, 95% CI [0.122, 0.329]). Technological turbulence moderated the IPMS-to-innovativeness association (β = 0.246, p < .001), and the index of moderated mediation excluded zero (index = 0.112, 95% CI [0.048, 0.182]). Within this cross-sectional sample, the estimated innovation-mediated association was stronger at higher levels of technological turbulence; the findings identify a context-dependent association rather than establishing a universal or causal effect of interactive control.

This study examines the use of an AI-based learning assistant (ChatGPT) and changes in students’ Higher-Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) in the Wired and Wireless Networking course within the Computer and Networking Engineering (TKJ) program. HOTS encompasses the abilities to analyze (C4), evaluate (C5), and create (C6) based on Bloom’s revised taxonomy. The study employed a quantitative approach with a one-group time-series pre-experimental design, involving 15 11th-grade students selected through purposive sampling. The researchers collected data through problem-based HOTS essay tests, questionnaires, and observations. The instruments showed content validity with Aiken’s V values ranging from 0.838 to 0.852, and the HOTS test showed reliability with Cronbach’s α = 0.934. The Lilliefors test indicated that the data were normally distributed across the three sessions. The mean HOTS score increased from 66.41 in Session 1 to 72.88 in Session 2 and 77.56 in Session 3. A repeated-measures ANOVA analysis revealed a significant difference, F (2,28) = 54.993, p < 0.001, ηp² = 0.797, with a large effect size. The Greenhouse–Geisser correction still yielded significant results. The overall N-Gain value of 0.335 fell into the moderate category. At the same time, student acceptance of the AI-Based Learning Assistant reached 80.00%, which is classified as good. The findings indicate an increase in HOTS during AI-assisted learning.
