Abstract

The arrest of Minister Edhy Prabowo occurred in the early hours of Wednesday 25 November 2020 at Soekarno-Hatta Airport by the KPK. This attracted the attention of online media including the Trans7 Afternoon Editorial Board. The research problem studied is how Trans7 constructs the reality of Edhy Prabowo's arrest at Soekarno-Hatta Airport and the frames that appear in its reporting. Knowing the construction of Trans7 is important because it is a powerful media that has editorial autonomy. The research uses qualitative methods through Pan & Kosicky's framing analysis model. The results show that Trans7 sees Edhy Prabowo as an OTT suspect by the KPK. The news structure studied is the framing element; schematic, script, thematic and rhetorical. Schematic; Trans7 linked the suspect to the alleged bribery case with foreign parties (San Francisco). The main source of the news is the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK). The background information that emerged was an alleged bribery case that occurred overseas (San Francisco). Script; Trans7 positions the information covered as complementary and completely conveyed. Thematic; Trans7 believes that the suspect is connected to a local network, Edhy is suspected of being involved. Rhetorically; Trans7 provides apposition and text emphasis on graphic elements.

Abstract

Environmental issues are a major threat to the survival of humans and other living creatures. In the digital era, the role of media in environmental ecology has become more complex. One way the media contributes to environmental ecology is by conveying information about environmental issues that require attention. Thanks to the media, many issues such as climate change, plastic pollution and sustainability are at the center of public attention. The media also plays an important role in exposing destructive practices that damage the environment, triggering responses from governments and civil society. Unraveling the ecological impact of media in the digital era is an important step in understanding the role of media in environmental conservation. The media has a great ability to shape our perceptions and actions towards environmental issues. This research investigates in depth the social content: the impact of the development of the digital era on environmental issues using a literature review approach. This research discusses the definition of environmental issues, the influence of technological developments in the digital era on people's lives, the ecological impact of digital media: the role in preserving the environment, technological developments in the digital era and environmental sustainability

Abstract

Criminal law reform in the face of cybercrime is a critical issue that requires attention in Indonesia. The research method used in this study is literature review. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of the current ITE Law and identify aspects that require improvement to optimise law enforcement against cybercrime. The results show that the current ITE Law requires adjustments to include more specific definitions and clear boundaries to avoid multiple interpretations and misuse. There is a need to update and enhance the law with higher standards related to human rights and freedom of expression. In addition, Indonesia's information technology infrastructure and human resources require improvement through investment and training to effectively address cybercrime challenges. International cooperation is also an important element of this research, which concludes that Indonesia should participate more actively in inter-state conventions and cooperation to strengthen its response to cross- border cybercrime. Therefore, this research suggests that legal reform, capacity building, and international cooperation are necessary to support Indonesia's efforts in dealing with cybercrime.

Abstract

Border infrastructure has an impact on trade and economic growth for communities living on the border. This method of investigation uses the study of literature by searching for references that fit the context of the research. The results of the research show that the improvement of the infrastructure in the border area has a significant positive impact on the volume of trade, with reduced logistics costs and improved efficiency of the flow of goods and services. Better infrastructure is strongly correlated with higher levels of foreign investment and closer regional economic integration. Further analysis shows that increased access to education, health care, and public services, catalysed by infrastructure investment, significantly contributes to economic and social development in the border areas. The research also found that strong border infrastructure increases economic resilience to external disturbances and drives long-term growth through economic diversification and innovation.
