Abstract

This study aims to examine the role of teachers as agents of change in improving students’ learning motivation in 21st-century education. This study is important because technological developments and changes in learning patterns require teachers to be more adaptive, innovative, and oriented toward students’ needs. The research employed a qualitative approach using library research. Data sources were obtained from scientific journals, books, and academic articles relevant to the research topic. Data collection was conducted through documentation studies, while data analysis used content analysis techniques. The findings indicate that teachers play important roles as motivators, facilitators, innovators, and guides in the learning process. The implementation of active learning methods, student-centered learning approaches, and the use of educational technology were found to increase students’ participation and learning motivation. The study also found that limited facilities, lack of technological mastery, and differences in students’ characteristics remain challenges in implementing 21st-century learning. This study provides practical implications for teachers and educational institutions in developing more effective, interactive, and relevant learning processes in modern education.

Abstract

This thesis discusses Teachers' Strategies in Improving the Numeracy Ability of Class VA Students in Mathematics Subjects at SDN 01 Mentawa, Tanjung Mekar Village, Sambas Regency, Academic Year 2023-2024. This research has three objectives, namely: 1) Preparation of teachers' strategies in improving students' numeracy skills. 2) Teachers' strategic steps in improving students' numeracy skills. 3) Teacher evaluation in improving students' numeracy skills. This research uses a qualitative approach and a type of phenomenological research. Data collection techniques use interviews, observations, and documentation. Data analysis techniques use data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawn. The results of the study show that: 1. The preparation of teachers' strategies in improving students' numeracy skills in the VA class of SDN 01 Mentawa Tanjung Mekar Village, Sambas Regency for the 2023-2024 school year is to prepare a learning plan before teaching because it is a reference for the learning process, setting learning goals, and preparing the time needed for each learning to be optimal. 2. Teachers' strategy steps in improving students' numeracy skills in the VA class of SDN 01 Mentawa, Tanjung Mekar Village, Sambas Regency, for the 2023-2024 school year, are teachers' strategies in improving students' or students' numeracy skills in the context of education, strategy refers to methods or techniques used by educators to facilitate learning and achieve desired results. 3. Teacher evaluation in improving students' numeracy skills in the VA class of SDN 01 Mentawa Tanjung Mekar Village, Sambas Regency for the 2023-2024 school year is as a teacher conducting an assessment to measure the development of students' numeracy skills and teachers provide tests in the form of multiple-choice questions, essays and so on.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the low ability of fourth-grade students at SD Negeri 2 Setia Mulia in distinguishing facts and opinions in Indonesian language learning. This condition is shown by the initial observation results indicating that most students have not reached the Minimum Mastery Criteria. Learning is still dominated by lecture methods, causing students to be less active and less involved in the process of text analysis. This study aims to improve students’ ability to distinguish facts and opinions through the implementation of the Think Pair Share (TPS) learning model. The research method used is Classroom Action Research with a qualitative approach supported by simple quantitative data. The research subjects were 25 fourth-grade students at SD Negeri 2 Setia Mulia. Data collection techniques included observation, tests, and documentation. The results showed an improvement in students’ abilities from Cycle I to Cycle II. In Cycle I, most students were still below the mastery criteria, while in Cycle II there was a significant improvement with most students achieving mastery learning. The Think Pair Share model proved to enhance students’ learning activity, confidence, and critical thinking skills in distinguishing facts and opinions. The conclusion of this study shows that the implementation of the Think Pair Share model is effective in improving students’ ability to distinguish facts and opinions. The recommendation of this study is that teachers can apply the TPS model as an active and interactive learning alternative to improve the quality of Indonesian language learning.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the poor learning outcomes in Pancasila Education among fifth-grade students at SD Negeri 3 Soco, Slogohimo Subdistrict, Wonogiri Regency. The learning process, which still tends to be teacher-centered, causes students to be less active, easily bored, and less engaged in learning activities. This situation has resulted in low student academic achievement, as evidenced by low test scores and a low percentage of students meeting learning standards. This study aims to improve learning outcomes in Pancasila Education through the application of the Snowball Throwing method. This study is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted in two cycles. Each cycle includes the planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. The research subjects were 10 fifth-grade students at SD Negeri 3 Soco, consisting of 5 male and 5 female students. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, documentation, and learning outcome tests. The data were analyzed using qualitative descriptive techniques. The results of the study indicate that the application of the Snowball Throwing method can improve student learning outcomes. In the pre-cycle phase, the class average score was 61.1 with a learning achievement rate of 20%. After the intervention in Cycle I, the average score increased to 76.3 with a learning achievement rate of 70%. A further improvement occurred in Cycle II, with the average score reaching 90.0 and the learning achievement rate at 100%. In addition to improving learning outcomes, the Snowball Throwing method can also increase student engagement, participation, and confidence in asking questions, answering questions, and expressing opinions during the learning process. Thus, the Snowball Throwing method is considered effective for improving Pancasila Education learning outcomes among fifth-grade students at SD Negeri 3 Soco, Slogohimo Subdistrict, Wonogiri Regency.

Abstract

Classroom action research (CAR) generally aims to improve student learning outcomes in the second grade at SDN 01 Pandam Gadang. Specifically, it aims to: 1) describe student activities; 2) describe the teacher’s management of the learning process; and 3) determine student learning outcomes in mathematics lessons on the topic of two-dimensional shapes. This Classroom Action Research (PTK) aims to improve the mathematics learning outcomes of second-grade students at SD UPTD 01 Pandam Gadang on the topic of objects around us. The background of this study includes low student learning outcomes caused by a lack of variety in teaching methods and insufficient use of concrete learning media. This study employed a lecture method with a cyclical approach comprising planning, action, observation, and reflection. The research subjects were eleven second-grade students at UPTD 01 Pandam Gadang Elementary School. Data were collected through tests, observations, and documentation. The results indicated that the application of the lecture method combined with visual aids significantly improved students’ mathematics learning outcomes, thereby facilitating their understanding. The average learning achievement of students in the pre-cycle was approximately seventy-three (73) percent, and after the improvement in Cycle 1, it reached ninety-one (91) percent. Additionally, students’ learning activities and motivation also increased during the learning process. As teachers, we always pay attention to all their learning needs so that the material can be well-received and easily understood by the students. These findings reinforce that using the lecture-demonstration method and the visual method can improve the mathematics learning outcomes of second-grade elementary school students regarding plane figures.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of letter cards on the ability to distinguish letters in writing among grade IA students at the Hombol Public Elementary School Technical Implementation Unit (UPTD SD Negeri Hombol). The quantitative research method used in this study was a pre-experimental study with a one-group pre-test and post-test. The independent variable in this study was the letter cards, and the dependent variable was the ability to distinguish letters in writing. The population in this study was all students at the UPTD SD Negeri Hombol, with a sample size of 20 students in grade IA. The researchers collected data using prerequisite test data collection techniques (normality test) and statistical tests (simple linear regression and t-test). The results showed an increase in the average score from 43.80 (poor category) in the pretest to 72.20 (sufficient category) in the posttest. The results of the simple linear regression test showed a positive regression coefficient with a significance value of 0.084 <0.05, indicating that the letter cards significantly influenced the ability to distinguish letters in writing. The conclusion of this study is that the use of letter cards effectively improves the ability to distinguish letters in writing for class IA students at the Hombol State Elementary School UPTD. Based on the data above, the researcher concludes that H_0 is rejected and H_1 is accepted, which means that the effect of letter cards on the ability to distinguish letters in writing for class IA students at the Hombol State Elementary School UPTD.

Abstract

This study aims to understand how students interpret freedom and responsibility in the decision-making process through the perspective of existential counseling. The study employs a descriptive qualitative approach, involving five currently enrolled students as participants who were purposively selected based on their experiences in facing important decisions. Data were collected through open-ended interviews and analyzed through data reduction, category coding, and thematic interpretation. The findings indicate that freedom is viewed as an opportunity to make independent choices without pressure from others. However, this freedom is often accompanied by doubt, anxiety, fear of making mistakes, and a tendency to postpone decision-making. Meanwhile, responsibility is understood as an individual’s awareness of the various long-term consequences that may arise from the choices made. The uniqueness of this study lies in the finding that freedom and responsibility are two interrelated and inseparable aspects in the decision-making process. From a practical perspective, the results of this study provide insights for counseling services in helping students better understand themselves, accept existing uncertainties, and make decisions in a more conscious and responsible manner.

Abstract

This study aims to determine whether the implementation of the Role Playing learning method assisted by the Wordwall game can increase the engagement and learning motivation of fourth-grade elementary school students in Pancasila education lessons. This study was conducted at SDN 1 Babadan. The research method used was descriptive qualitative, with 21 students as research subjects, consisting of 11 boys and 10 girls. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted using qualitative descriptive methods. The results indicate an increase in student engagement and motivation following the implementation of the Role-Playing learning method supported by the Wordwall game in Pancasila education. This is evidenced by an increase in the number of students who dared to ask questions, answer questions, and actively participate in the games and role-playing activities. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the Role-Playing learning method supported by the Wordwall game is proven effective in enhancing students’ engagement and learning motivation. The implications of this study highlight the importance of using innovative, technology-based learning methods to boost student engagement, create a more engaging learning environment, and motivate students to learn more actively and effectively.

Abstract

Mathematics learning in elementary schools is still a challenge for some students, especially in understanding material related to the concept of measurement. This problem was also found in third-grade students of SDN Mulyasari 1 who still had difficulty in understanding units of measurement and their application in daily activities. This condition is influenced by the learning process which still tends to be teacher-centered so that students are less actively involved in understanding the material. This study aims to determine how the application of the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) method can help improve students' understanding of measurement material. The study used a Classroom Action Research (CAR) approach which was implemented in two cycles. Each cycle includes the planning stage, action implementation, observation, and reflection. Data collection was carried out through observation, learning outcome tests, and documentation. The application of the CTL method was carried out by linking measurement material with experiences close to students' lives. In the learning process, students were invited to practice directly using simple measuring tools and observing objects around the school environment. This method helps students understand the concept of measurement more realistically and not only based on theoretical explanations. The results of the study showed that the application of the CTL method was able to improve students' understanding of measurement material. This is evident in the improvement in student learning outcomes in each research cycle. Therefore, the CTL method can be an effective alternative for mathematics learning to help students understand measurement concepts more easily, especially at the elementary school level.

Abstract

Islamic education represents an educational system that emphasizes the balanced development of intellectual, spiritual, and moral dimensions in shaping individuals who are knowledgeable, faithful, and possess noble character. This study aims to analyze the fundamental concepts of Islamic education, examine its educational objectives, explore the educational thoughts of prominent Muslim scholars, and explain their relevance in addressing contemporary challenges as well as their contribution to the process of village regulation drafting and legal drafting practices. The study employs a library research method by utilizing scholarly books, academic journals, scientific articles, and relevant research findings. Data were analyzed using a descriptive-analytical approach to provide a comprehensive understanding of the evolution of Islamic educational thought from classical to contemporary periods. The findings reveal that Islamic education is founded upon three essential concepts: tarbiyah, ta'lim, and ta'dib, which collectively promote the holistic development of human potential. The ultimate objective of Islamic education is the formation of insan kamil (the complete human being) characterized by the integration of knowledge, faith, and morality. The educational perspectives of Al-Ghazali, Ibn Sina, HAMKA, and Azyumardi Azra demonstrate that Islamic educational thought remains highly relevant in responding to globalization, digital transformation, and moral challenges. Furthermore, Islamic values such as trustworthiness, justice, deliberation, and responsibility provide important ethical foundations for village regulation drafting oriented toward public welfare.
