Abstract

Motor development is an important aspect in the growth and development of early childhood, including for children with disabilities who often experience obstacles in motor skills and body coordination. In the context of inclusive education, early childhood education teachers have a strategic role in providing appropriate guidance and stimulation to support children's motor development. This research is motivated by the importance of the role of teachers in helping children with disabilities achieve optimal motor development and the limited studies that specifically discuss this role in early childhood education. This study aims to describe and analyze the role of early childhood education teachers in assisting the motor development of children with disabilities. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive research type. Data were obtained through literature studies by reviewing various books, scientific journals, laws and regulations, and other relevant sources related to the role of early childhood education teachers, early childhood motor development, children with disabilities, and inclusive education. The collected data were analyzed descriptively to gain a comprehensive understanding of the phenomenon studied. The results of the study indicate that early childhood education teachers have an important role as facilitators, guides, motivators, mediators, and companions in supporting the motor development of children with disabilities. Teachers play a key role in designing learning activities tailored to children's needs, providing ongoing motor stimulation, and creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment. The success of mentoring is influenced by teacher competence, child characteristics, family support, and the availability of adequate facilities and infrastructure. Based on the research findings, it can be concluded that the role of early childhood education (PAUD) teachers is crucial for the success of mentoring the motor development of children with disabilities. Therefore, it is necessary to improve teacher competence, strengthen collaboration with parents, and develop more optimal inclusive education services. Further research is recommended to conduct field studies to gain a more in-depth understanding of the practice of mentoring the motor development of children with disabilities.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the application of the Indonesian Realistic Mathematics Approach (PMRI) in calculating the circumference and area of a circle among pupils at SDI Al-Madinah in Kediri City. This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach, focusing on depicting the learning process and pupils’ understanding of the concepts of the area and circumference of a circle. The subjects in this study were 20 Year 5 pupils at SDI Al-Madinah in Kediri City, who were then divided into four learning groups to facilitate the implementation of PMRI-based learning activities. The research data were obtained from interviews and the results of the Pupil Worksheets (LKPD) compiled using contextual problems or everyday life situations. Subsequently, the collected data were analysed descriptively to obtain an overview of the students’ ability to understand the concepts of the area and circumference of a circle. The technique used to verify the validity of the research data employed methodological triangulation by comparing the data obtained from the interviews with the students’ work on the LKPDs. The research results indicate that Year 5 pupils at SDI Al-Madinah in Kediri City were able to solve contextual problems relating to the area and circumference of a circle correctly and accurately. The students were also able to write down the steps for solving the problems systematically in accordance with the concepts they had learnt. Furthermore, based on the interview results, the students were able to explain the concepts of the area and circumference of a circle and relate them to real-world problems found in the worksheets. These findings indicate that learning that utilises PMRI-based activities and media can strengthen students’ understanding of mathematical concepts. In addition to improving understanding of the subject matter, the use of PMRI-based contextual worksheets also makes the learning process more enjoyable and meaningful, whilst enhancing students’ motivation and active participation in classroom learning activities.

Abstract

Social change driven by globalization, digitalization, and modernization has significantly impacted students' lives in both academic and social aspects. These conditions require students to possess adaptability and flexibility skills to effectively cope with rapid and dynamic changes. This article aims to examine the concept of adaptability and flexibility skills in education, analyze the impact of social change on students' lives, and identify strategies for strengthening students' adaptive capacities. The study employs a library research method by reviewing various relevant scholarly sources related to social change, 21st-century education, and student skill development. The findings indicate that adaptability and flexibility are essential competencies that enable students to adjust to environmental changes, technological advancements, and increasingly complex educational demands. Social change provides positive impacts, such as easier access to information, broader perspectives, and the development of 21st-century skills. However, it also presents challenges, including information overload, shifts in social interaction patterns, and increasing competency demands. Strengthening adaptability and flexibility can be achieved through adaptive learning approaches, the development of critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills, the effective use of technology, and collaboration among schools, families, and communities. Therefore, fostering adaptability and flexibility should become an integral part of the educational process in preparing students to become resilient, creative, and capable of facing the challenges of a continuously changing world.

Abstract

This study examines the procurement strategy for educational facilities and infrastructure at MTs Miftahul Huda, emphasizing optimization amid funding constraints from BOS funds, student fees, and foundation aid. Employing a qualitative descriptive approach via literature review and observation, findings reveal that the madrasah prioritizes comprehensive evaluation of existing assets, repair-first policies based on cost-benefit analysis (under 40% of new replacement value), and community gotong royong to save up to 60% of the annual budget. Primary challenges include funding shortages delaying repairs for desks, chairs, and fans, which affect learning comfort; adaptive measures like needs prioritization and foundation coordination effectively mitigate these issues. Results indicate that this contextual strategy enhances managerial efficiency while supporting teaching-learning quality, though long-term planning is needed for broader applicability.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the challenges faced by primary school teachers in innovating to shape pupils’ character in the era of the Merdeka Curriculum, as well as the adaptive strategies they have developed in response to these challenges. The study employs a phenomenological qualitative approach using semi-structured in-depth interviews with three primary school teachers selected through purposive sampling. Data were analysed using the Miles & Saldaña interactive model through three stages of coding: open coding, axial coding, and selective coding. Data validity was ensured through source triangulation and member check. The research findings revealed six main themes: (1) internal challenges faced by teachers, such as time constraints, hesitation to innovate, and heterogeneity in pupils’ abilities; (2) limitations in facilities and infrastructure, particularly unequal access to technology; (3) weak parental involvement and inconsistencies between parenting styles and school values; (4) teachers’ adaptive strategies through gradual innovation, varied methods, and contextual adjustments; (5) institutional support through professional learning communities (KKG) and the Merdeka Mengajar Platform; and (6) teachers’ hopes for a reduction in administrative burdens, practical training, and greater policy flexibility. This study concludes that the successful development of student character in the era of the Merdeka Curriculum requires synergy between teachers’ professional readiness, the support of the school ecosystem, parental involvement, and policies that prioritise the real needs of teachers in the field.

Abstract

Stigma against disability remains a major obstacle to realizing a just and inclusive society. Stigma manifests not only in the form of negative labels but also in discriminatory practices that limit access for people with disabilities to education, employment, social participation, and public services. This article examines stigma against disability from a social and inclusive education perspective by examining its causes, impacts, and reduction strategies. In general, stigma develops through a lack of disability literacy, cultural influences, stereotypes about disability, and minimal equal interaction between the community and people with disabilities. In the educational context, stigma can reduce learning participation, trigger social isolation, and hinder the effective implementation of inclusive education. Through a literature review and conceptual analysis, this article demonstrates that stigma reduction requires multi-level interventions, ranging from public education and strengthening inclusive school policies, family involvement, to more equitable media representation. Inclusive education is understood not simply as the placement of students with disabilities in mainstream schools, but rather as a transformation of values, culture, and practices so that diversity is truly valued. Therefore, stigma reduction is a crucial prerequisite for creating an equitable, safe, and dignified educational ecosystem for all students.

Abstract

The objectives of this study are: 1) To describe and analyse the forms of criminality in the novel Tanah Para Bandit by Tere Liye. 2) To describe and analyse the factors underlying the occurrence of criminality in the novel Tanah Para Bandit by Tere Liye. 3) To describe and analyse the implications of studying criminality for Indonesian language learning in senior secondary schools. This study employs a qualitative approach using a literature review methodology. Data collection techniques include literature review and documentation. The data analysis techniques used are data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The data validity techniques employed are observational rigour and referential adequacy. The research findings conclude that: 1) The forms of criminality present in the novel Tanah Para Bandit by Tere Liye include: economic crime, violent crime, and political crime. 2) The factors underlying the occurrence of criminality in the novel Tanah Para Bandit are poverty and low levels of education. 3) The implications for Indonesian language learning in senior secondary schools from the novel *Tanah Para Bandit* include critical reading skills, understanding of social and cultural context, vocabulary enrichment and language comprehension, class discussions and activities, and the value of supplementary books (non-fiction) and drama books (fiction).
