Abstract

The development of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in rural areas is one of the key strategies in improving the economy and welfare of rural communities. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of the integration of education and community service in the development of MSMEs in rural areas. The method used is a literature study. The results show that the integrated approach of education and community service has a significant positive impact on the growth and sustainability of rural MSMEs. Education that covers aspects of business management, finance, marketing, and technology, combined with community service in the form of direct assistance, is proven to increase the capacity and competitiveness of MSME actors. In addition, this approach also encourages community empowerment and village economic independence. This research concludes that the integration of education and community service is an effective strategy in the development of MSMEs in rural areas

Abstract

The socialisation of MSMEs as a form of community service aims to encourage village economic independence through increased capacity and participation of local communities. This initiative focuses on developing the knowledge and skills required to manage small and medium enterprises that have the potential to create jobs and increase the income of village communities. By utilising local potential and existing resources, the programme is expected to strengthen the village economic structure and reduce dependence on the central economy. The outcome of this socialisation is expected to create a sustainable business ecosystem and improve the overall welfare of the village community.

Abstract

Effective financial management strategies for improving people's living standards refer to a series of planned approaches and methods in managing financial resources, both at the individual, family, and community levels, which aim to improve economic well-being and overall quality of life. These strategies include careful financial planning, wise management of income and expenditure, optimal use of financial instruments and investments, and increased financial literacy, which collectively aim to create financial stability, economic growth, and improve people's living standards in the long term. The study method in this study uses the literature method. The results of the study show that strategies such as careful budget planning, wise debt management, investment diversification, and increased financial literacy have a significant positive impact on financial stability and economic growth of the community. This study also identifies challenges in implementing these strategies, including gaps in knowledge and access to financial services. In conclusion, the implementation of effective financial management strategies, supported by appropriate policies and continuous education, can be a key instrument in improving people's living standards and encouraging inclusive economic development.

Abstract

Community service through strengthening MSMEs is an effective strategy to encourage village progress. MSMEs have a crucial role in increasing local employment, which leads to a reduction in unemployment and an increase in the income of rural communities. In addition, the economic diversification resulting from the development of various business sectors helps create village economic resilience. Through empowerment and training, the capacity of human resources in the village increases, making MSME actors more competitive and efficient. Overall, strengthening MSMEs through community service programmes not only provides short-term benefits but also opens up opportunities for sustainable and inclusive economic growth in villages.

Abstract

Lata yam is one of the local commodities that has great potential to be developed as a superior product in the Badal Pandean Kediri area. Besides being rich in nutritional value, Lata yam has high flexibility to be processed into various value-added products, so that it can make a significant economic contribution to the local community. However, this potential has not been optimally utilised due to the community's limited understanding of marketing, especially digital marketing, which is now key in reaching a wider market and increasing the competitiveness of local products. This constraint has resulted in the low selling value of Lata yam and limited market reach, which in turn affects the income of farmers and small business actors in the region. Therefore, empowerment efforts are needed that can improve community marketing skills in processing and promoting Lata yam-based products. This community service programme aims to improve the marketing knowledge and skills of local communities through a Lata yam marketing workshop. This workshop includes training on basic marketing strategies, promotional content creation techniques, social media management, and simple digital marketing techniques that suit the capabilities and needs of the local community. The methods used included counselling, training, and intensive mentoring. Initial counselling focused on the importance of digital marketing for local products, followed by technical training in creating visual content and product descriptions that appeal to consumers. In addition, participants were taught how to manage social media such as Instagram and Facebook as effective yet cost-effective marketing tools. The results of this activity showed an increase in participants' understanding and skills in digital marketing. As many as 85% of participants who initially had not utilised social media for product marketing have now started to actively use the platform and demonstrated the ability to create more attractive and informative promotional content. In addition, there was an average sales increase of 15-20% in the three- month post-workshop period, indicating that digital marketing strategies have a positive impact on participants' competitiveness and income. Some participants were even able to develop Lata yam-based processed products, such as chips and yam flour, which have a higher selling value than raw products. This programme not only provides economic benefits for participants, but also has an impact on increasing community motivation and confidence in developing local products. This workshop is expected to be the first step in creating a sustainable marketing ecosystem, where communities can independently develop and market their local products more effectively. Through continued support and further training, it is hoped that Lata yam can become one of the leading commodities that is widely recognised, both in the national and international markets, so as to be able to make a long-term contribution to local economic development.

Abstract

This study aims to analyse the effectiveness of interactive learning methods applied by lecturers in improving students' academic achievement. Through this study, it was found that the implementation of interactive learning methods had a positive and significant impact on student engagement and achievement. The method, which involves discussion, group work, and multilevel activities, is proven to improve students' understanding of the material and critical thinking skills. The role of the lecturer as a facilitator is crucial in ensuring the effectiveness of this method, with good activity design and clear direction identified as key to success. In addition, physical and social environments that support interaction also contribute positively to a conducive learning atmosphere. In conclusion, interactive learning methods are effective in improving student achievement, provided they are implemented with appropriate strategies and a supportive environment.

Abstract

In the field of education today, the use of technology in the learning process has become an indispensable necessity. One way to support learning activities is by utilizing various learning resources, whether in the form of print media or digital media. With technological advancements, teachers are expected to leverage more diverse and adaptive learning resources, such as online teaching materials. One application that can be used to create engaging learning materials is e-modules. Alongside the rapid progress of information and communication technology, educational media need to adapt to modernization, including through the development of digital media based on Flip Builder. The purpose of this community service training is to equip teachers with the skills to use this application, aiming to support the achievement of learning objectives. Flip Builder offers an innovative solution in education by providing a new way to deliver learning materials interactively and engagingly. This training was conducted for Social Studies subject teachers in Public Junior High School Unit the Dewi Sartika Cluster MGMP, Tapung District, Kampar Regency. The conclusions drawn from the training showed that out of 30 teachers participating, 73.33% were able to understand the training materials, 100% found the training beneficial, and 90% felt the training was enjoyable.

Abstract

This Community Service Program (PKM) was carried out by lecturers and students of the Islamic Communication and Broadcasting (KPI) Department at STAI Al-Haudl Ketapang with the aim of enhancing the religious capacity and literacy of the community in Sei Awan Kiri Village, Ketapang Regency. The phenomenon of low religious literacy, particularly among the younger generation, as well as the lack of systematic educational spaces, became the foundation for this program. The implementation method employed a participatory approach, including observation, counseling, Qur’an reading training, religious studies, group discussions, and mentoring. The results of the program showed an improvement in the community’s understanding of practical worship, an increase in Qur’an reading skills among children and youth, and the growth of a spirit of togetherness in strengthening Islamic literacy. This program also had an impact on lecturers and students by strengthening their practical da’wah competencies and providing experience in community empowerment. Thus, this PKM serves as a collaborative medium between higher education institutions and the community in fostering religious awareness and shaping Islamic literacy traditions in rural areas.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the forms, processes, and impacts of muallaf (convert to Islam) development carried out through the Field Work Lecture (Kuliah Kerja Lapangan or KKL) activities in Dusun Manjau, Laman Satong Village, North Matan Hilir District, Ketapang Regency. The development program was conducted in five main forms: personal mentoring, Islamic studies, Qur’an reading courses, religious consultations, and development through silaturahmi (social visits). The research method used is qualitative descriptive, with data collection techniques including observation, interviews, and documentation. The results show that personal mentoring plays a crucial role in building emotional closeness and spiritual motivation among the muallaf. Islamic studies and Qur’an reading courses help improve understanding and worship skills. Religious consultations provide space for muallaf to express the problems they face, while silaturahmi activities strengthen social bonds between muallaf and the local Muslim community. Overall, the KKL activities significantly contribute to the strengthening of faith, worship skills, and the social integration of muallaf in their new environment.

The results showed that community empowerment through education can increase community awareness and participation in development by increasing community knowledge and skills.
