Abstract

Islamic education plays a central role in shaping character and developing the full potential of individuals, particularly in striving to fulfill the purposes of life as servants of Allah and stewards on earth. Despite undergoing various changes from the colonial era to the independence period, Islamic education in Indonesia still faces challenges, including the dichotomy of education, curriculum, and management that are often considered inconsistent and lacking clear direction. With a reconstructionist approach, which prioritizes the transformation of the education system to be relevant to modern social and cultural conditions, efforts can be made to reform Islamic education to address these fundamental issues. In the era of Society 5.0, where the physical and virtual worlds are increasingly interconnected through IoT and artificial intelligence, Islamic education is confronted with both new opportunities and challenges. This era demands a transformation in teaching methods that not only leverage technology but also uphold moral and character values. This paper aims to assess the readiness of Islamic education in facing the era of Society 5.0 with a reconstructionist approach as a new paradigm to optimize information access and align education with contemporary needs

Abstract

Ethics in contemporary business and economics is an important concern in the current era of globalization. The Qur'an, as the holy book of Muslims, offers comprehensive moral and ethical guidelines. This research aims to examine how the Al-Qur'an can be used as a source of ethics in business practices. This research uses a qualitative approach with a literature review method. Primary data sources come from relevant verses of the Qur'an, while secondary data is obtained from literature related to business ethics, Islamic economics, and interpretations of classical and contemporary ulama. Analysis shows that the Qur'an contains ethical principles that can be applied in business and economics, such as justice, honesty, responsibility, transparency and integrity. These principles serve as a strong moral foundation to guide behavior and decisions in the modern business context. The implementation of Al-Qur'an ethics in contemporary business faces challenges and opportunities. Challenges include cultural differences, application of these principles amidst the complexity of the global economy and also differences in interpretation. However, opportunities include increasing trust and integrity in business, as well as contributing to equitable economic development. The integration of Qur'anic values ​​in business practices can produce significant positive impacts, both morally and economically.

Abstract

Islamic education is an effort in planning to prepare people to recognize, understand, appreciate, and believe in the teachings of the Islamic religion accompanied by demands to respect other religions in inter-religious relations to create national unity and integrity. This article aims to provide readers with new knowledge about the concept of Islamic education in the era of disruption based on the perspective of Ibn Khaldun's Islamic education. This study uses a literature study approach by using descriptive analysis. The results of this study indicate that Islamic education is used as a filter for students to be able to balance the development of technology and Islamic law as a process where students are able to appreciate, absorb and even capture events throughout the ages.

Abstract

The attitude of syaja'ah, which signifies courage in action and facing challenges, is a crucial quality for effective leadership. This article explores the urgency of syaja'ah in modern leadership, highlighting how this trait can build leaders who are both brave and possess integrity. Through a comprehensive literature review and case study analysis, it is found that leaders who embody syaja'ah are better equipped to handle uncertainties, make difficult decisions, and maintain integrity under pressure. These findings indicate that integrating syaja'ah into leadership education and training programs is essential. Courageous leaders not only inspire trust and confidence among their followers but also drive innovation and uphold ethical standards, even when facing significant challenges. In an era marked by rapid change and complex challenges, the need for leaders with syaja'ah is more urgent than ever.Moreover, the presence of syaja'ah in leadership is associated with increased organizational resilience and adaptability. Leaders who display courage can effectively navigate crises and promote a culture of transparency and accountability. This article aims to provide a deeper understanding of the critical role of syaja'ah in leadership and offers practical recommendations for fostering this essential quality in current and future leaders. By integrating syaja'ah into leadership development initiatives, organizations can establish a foundation for more resilient, ethical, and effective leadership that can navigate the complexities of the modern world.

Key obstacles include how to maintain core religious values ​​in an increasingly secular and fast-paced environment. However, within these obstacles, there are also opportunities to use technology as a tool for the wider dissemination and understanding of Islam. Abstract

This article explores the revitalization of Islamic educational institutions in the context of transitioning from tradition to transformation in the global era. The main focus is on the urgency of institutional reform, the strategic role of Islamic education, and adaptive strategies that integrate Islamic values with modern demands. Using a qualitative approach based on literature review, the study examines fundamental concepts of Islamic education institutions, their types and roles, as well as current challenges, including resistance to innovation, managerial limitations, and human resource capacity. The findings reveal that revitalization is not merely a structural necessity but also a value-based imperative, requiring Islamic institutions to act as agents of spiritual-based social transformation. The article proposes several key strategies, including institutional management reform, enhancement of educators’ competencies, and cross-sectoral collaboration. In conclusion, successful revitalization must be holistic and participatory to ensure that Islamic educational institutions remain relevant and competitive in shaping a future-oriented generation in the global landscape.

Abstract

Islamic education holds a strategic significance in shaping character, morality, and the quality of human resources with high competitiveness, thereby contributing directly to national development. In the context of globalization and dynamic societal change, Islamic education in Indonesia not only faces the challenges of modernization but also plays a crucial role in preserving Islamic values and local cultural wisdom. This study aims to examine the existence and contribution of Islamic education to national progress from historical, institutional, and functional perspectives. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed in this study, utilizing content analysis on various secondary sources such as scholarly journals, policy documents, and previous research findings. Thematic analysis was conducted using the Miles and Huberman framework to identify patterns of Islamic education’s contribution to the economic, social, and cultural development of the nation. The findings reveal that Islamic education, through institutions such as pesantren and madrasah, has transformed into a social change agent that adapts to contemporary developments. This form of education not only instills spiritual and ethical values but also fosters critical thinking, leadership, and innovation skills necessary for building a globally competitive nation. Furthermore, the integration of Islamic values with the principles of sustainable development and character education positions Islamic education as a strategic foundation for balanced national progress, encompassing both material and spiritual dimensions. Strengthening the Islamic education system is a vital investment in realizing the vision of a progressive, ethical, and resilient Indonesia in the face of global challenges.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the implementation of the Bukhoren activities and the meanings embedded in this tradition. The method used is qualitative-descriptive research, which allows the researcher to deeply explore data related to the practices and values present in Bukhoren activities. The findings reveal that Bukhoren, as part of the religious traditions of the community, holds profound significance in various dimensions of Muslim life. This tradition reflects the love for Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) through practices such as zikir (remembrance of Allah), the recitation of the Shahih Al-Bukhari text, prayers, and salawat, which form part of the celebration of the Prophet Muhammad’s (peace be upon him) birth. Besides serving as a means of worship and spiritual reinforcement, Bukhoren also plays an educational role in preserving Islamic teachings and fostering Islamic brotherhood within the community.  The conclusion of this study emphasizes that the Bukhoren tradition not only sustains religious values but also serves as a tool to build social solidarity and perpetuate Islamic cultural heritage across generations. Thus, Bukhoren is not merely a religious ritual but also a medium for Muslims to draw closer to Allah and emulate the noble character of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).

Abstract

The presence of a mosque has a vital function in the lives of Muslims. In a narrow understanding, mosques are often reduced to merely being a place of prayer, in principle this understanding is not wrong to a certain extent, but along with the development of the times, mosques are multi-functional, not only acting as a place of prayer but other types of worship are also routinely held in mosques ranging from dhikr, prayer, to tadarus Al-Quran. On a broader scale, mosques also have a social humanitarian function that is not only related to natural disasters, in normal situations the social humanitarian function of mosques continues to run. The social humanitarian function related to disasters, for example, by making mosques a temporary shelter for disaster victims. Meanwhile, blood donation activities, sharing basic necessities, health checks and others are social humanitarian functions carried out by mosques in normal times. The social humanitarian function carried out by mosques indicates that mosques have become one with the lives of the people, mosques take on a greater role in society.

Abstract

To understand the Qur'an correctly and avoid misinterpretation, a set of principles known as Qawaid Tafsir is required in the interpretation of the Qur'an. As a sacred text, the Qur'an has been interpreted throughout the ages, opening up opportunities to explore the divine messages contained within it using different approaches. One may face challenges that are not easy to overcome, leading to ambiguity when understanding the Quran without the guidance of an interpretation or knowledge of interpretation. The presence of principles of Quranic interpretation will undoubtedly assist in comprehending the content of the Quran broadly and deeply.  In this context, the author will briefly present an article on the principles of interpretation based on the sources that serve as references for these principles.
