Abstract

The transformation of education in the era of modernization requires teachers not only to master the subject matter but also to adapt to technological advancements and curriculum changes. Teacher professionalism is a key factor in creating an effective learning process that meets contemporary demands. This study aims to analyze the level of ideal teacher professionalism in facing educational transformation challenges at SMAN 12 Luwu, located on Jl. Trans Sulawesi, Bunga Eja Village, Kamanre Subdistrict, Luwu Regency. The research used a mixed-method approach, combining data from student questionnaires (36 respondents), teacher observations, and in-depth interviews with five subject teachers and the school principal. The results indicate that teachers demonstrate high professionalism in social and professional aspects, while pedagogical and technological adaptation still require improvement. Teachers showed discipline and the ability to build positive relationships with students, but the integration of digital media in teaching was not yet optimal across all teachers. In conclusion, the teachers at SMAN 12 Luwu have met most of the indicators of ideal professional educators. It is recommended that the school enhance digital teaching training and foster collaboration among teachers to improve adaptive teaching quality in the modern educational landscape.

Abstract

School culture is a system of values, beliefs, and habits that exist within the educational environment and function as a guideline for the behavior of all school members. A good school culture can create a conducive learning atmosphere, motivate students, and foster positive personalities that support educational success. This study aims to analyze the influence of school culture on the personality development of students at SMAN 3 Bantaeng. The approach used is qualitative with a descriptive method. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation studies involving teachers and students. The results of the study show that the school culture at SMAN 3 Bantaeng such as the culture of discipline, religiosity, cooperation, and responsibility contributes significantly to shaping students’ personalities. These values are internalized through regular school activities, habitual practices, and teachers’ role modeling. Such positive culture helps improve students’ sense of responsibility, respectfulness, and learning motivation. Thus, it can be concluded that school culture has a real and meaningful influence on students’ personality development, both in moral, social, and spiritual aspects

Abstract

The low interest of students (santri) in formal schooling and their strong enthusiasm for madrasah diniyah has become a long-standing pattern at Miftahul Ulum Ranupakis Islamic Boarding School. This phenomenon reflects differing perceptions among students toward the two educational systems they simultaneously experience. This study aims to explore the meaning of formal schooling and madrasah diniyah from the students’ perspective using a qualitative case study approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentation, and analyzed using data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that formal schooling is mainly perceived as a means to obtain academic certification, while madrasah diniyah is regarded as the core of pesantren education that instills religious knowledge, moral values, and religious identity. These results highlight the central role of madrasah diniyah in shaping students’ educational meaning-making, while formal schooling is positioned as a complementary component. The study recommends stronger synergy between formal schooling and madrasah diniyah so that both systems can mutually reinforce the holistic development of students’ character and competencies.

Abstract

This research aims to investigate the role of emotional intelligence in leadership development among students. Emotional intelligence is understood as the ability to recognize, understand and regulate the emotions of both oneself and others. In this study, analysis was carried out on the relationship between emotional intelligence and leadership effectiveness through data collection carried out in several organizational environments at Makassar State University. This research reveals that students who have high emotional intelligence tend to be better at motivating themselves and others, as well as at establishing positive relationships within teams. Abstract

This study aims to explore the perceptions of new students in the Accounting Education Study Program, Faculty of Economics and Business, Makassar State University, regarding the role of Pancasila Education in countering radicalism in higher education. This research stems from the understanding that radicalism is not only manifested in the form of violence, but also through intolerance, exclusivism, and ideological narratives that develop in the digital space. Using a descriptive qualitative approach and semi-structured interview method, this study analyzes students' understanding, attitudes, and expectations of Pancasila values. The results show that the majority of students have a good understanding of the basic values of Pancasila and recognize its relevance as an ideological foundation in maintaining national unity amid the challenges of globalization and the flow of digital information. Pancasila education is perceived as playing an important role in shaping students' characters to be tolerant, critical, and inclusive. However, the effectiveness of learning still faces obstacles, mainly due to teaching methods that tend to be theoretical and lack contextual relevance to students' social realities. This study emphasizes the importance of pedagogical innovation in Pancasila Education through the strengthening of dialogue-based learning, contextual case studies, and the use of digital media. This approach is expected to enhance the internalization of Pancasila values in a more reflective and applicable manner, so that Pancasila Education can function optimally as an ideological bulwark against radicalism among the younger generation.

Abstract

Jigsaw cooperative learning is an effective method to improve students’ conceptual understanding, motivation to learn, and active participation. Through small group learning, students learn a specific section of the material and then teach the material to their classmates. This process strengthens students’ understanding, social skills, and critical thinking skills. Research shows that the Jigsaw model can improve academic learning outcomes, especially in complex subjects such as mathematics and science, and develop students’ metacognitive abilities. In addition, this model encourages inclusive collaboration and improves social-emotional skills, creating an interactive and enjoyable learning environment. Although effective, the implementation of this model in Indonesia faces challenges, such as difficulties in time management and the need for intensive teacher guidance to ensure that each student understands their role in the group. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach with a literature study, which aims to analyze the advantages and obstacles to implementing the Jigsaw model in the context of education in Indonesia.

Abstract

21st century education demands the development of students' critical thinking skills to face the challenges of the digital era. This article examines the role of technology in supporting inquiry learning as an innovative method that encourages active exploration and critical analysis. With a descriptive approach based on literature study, this research shows that technology integration can increase students' digital literacy, facilitate collaboration, and expand access to learning resources. However, the implementation of technology-based inquiry learning faces challenges, such as gaps in digital access and limited teacher skills. This article also discusses the advantages and disadvantages of inquiry learning strategies, as well as providing recommendations for optimizing their application in modern education. These findings are expected to provide practical insights for educators in maximizing learning in the digital era.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the role of Al-Qur'an recitation activities in the moral development of adolescents in Maabholu Village using a descriptive qualitative research approach. Data collection techniques, observation, interviews, and documentation were used to obtain the following results: data collection on congregations and guidance teachers, facilities and infrastructure, activities during recitation sessions, and the annual program of the Al-Akbar Mosque Recitation Institution. In overcoming the obstacles faced by the study group administrators in shaping the morals of adolescents, they provide guidance to adolescents through examples such as lectures, providing examples of positive activities, providing knowledge about religion, and increasing activities related to da'wah (proselytizing). The types of activities for shaping the morals of youth at the Al-Akbar Religious Institute include recitation of verses from the Holy Qur'an, recitation of Yasin, tahlil, zikir, and 10-minute lecture practice. The inhibiting factors are the low attendance of teenagers, lack of motivation from parents, and the development of technology and communication media, especially gadgets and the internet, which prevent teenagers from fully absorbing the material. The character building of teenagers implemented at the Al-Akbar Mosque Institute includes the story method, the mauidzah (advice) method, the caramah method, and the question and answer method.

Abstract

This research explores the application of contextual learning in economics learning at SMAN 19 Gowa and its impact on students' mastery of basic competencies. Using a qualitative approach with a case study design, data was collected through interviews and observation. The results show that contextual strategies increase students' interest and understanding, and strengthen their confidence in applying economic concepts. However, challenges arise when abstract material is difficult to relate to everyday experiences, especially for students from different economic backgrounds. This research concludes that contextual learning is effective, but requires adjustments to the material to meet student needs.

Abstract

SMPN 7 Semarang City is one of the educational institutions that has a relatively conducive learning environment, both in terms of cleanliness, classroom comfort, and harmonious social relations between school residents. However, behind these supportive environmental conditions, the learning motivation of eighth grade students in Social Studies (IPS) is still relatively low. This phenomenon is the basis for conducting research to analyze the extent to which the learning environment influences student learning motivation by linking it to behaviorism learning theory. This study uses a quantitative approach with a survey method of 68 respondents selected through simple random sampling techniques from a total population of 210 students. Data were collected through observation, questionnaires, and interviews, then analyzed using simple linear regression with the help of SPSS software version 26. The results of the analysis show that the learning environment has a significant influence on student learning motivation, as evidenced by a significance value of 0.000 (<0.05) and a calculated t value of 5.264 (> t table 1.667). These findings indicate that the better the quality of the learning environment, both in terms of physical and social aspects, as well as family support, the higher the students' motivation in participating in social studies learning. Improving the quality of the learning environment aligns with the principles of behaviorism, which states that the development of positive learning behaviors can be achieved through the provision of appropriate stimuli and reinforcement. Efforts to create a supportive learning environment are a strategic step in increasing motivation and optimal student learning outcomes.
