Abstract

Abstract The official website of a higher education institution is one of the most important means of communication and information services for the academic community and the general public. The usability quality of a campus website directly affects the ease with which users can access the information they need. This study aims to evaluate the usability level of the official website of Universitas Muhammadiyah Muara Bungo (UMMUBA) using the System Usability Scale (SUS) method as a basis for improving campus digital information services. The research used a descriptive quantitative approach with data collection through observation, questionnaires, and documentation. The research respondents consisted of 40 people including students, lecturers, administrative staff, and the general public who were selected using purposive sampling technique. The instrument used was the SUS questionnaire consisting of 10 statements with a Likert scale of 1 to 5. Data were analyzed using the standard SUS score calculation formula and categorized based on three interpretation dimensions, namely Acceptability, Grade Scale, and Adjective Rating. The results showed that the official UMMUBA website obtained an average SUS score of 62.75, which falls in the Marginal High category in the Acceptability dimension, grade C on the Grade Scale, and the good category on the Adjective Rating. These results indicate that the UMMUBA website still requires improvement in terms of navigation, interface consistency, and information access speed. The novelty of this research lies in the formal usability evaluation of a regional university website that has never been formally conducted, so that the results can serve as a strategic reference for UMMUBA management in improving the quality of campus digital information services. Abstract

This study aims to describe the form of learning difficulties of fifth grade students in the material of multiplication arithmetic operations, identify the factors causing them, and explain the efforts of teachers in overcoming these difficulties. The study used a descriptive qualitative approach with subjects of 5 students and 1 teacher of fifth grade of Elementary School 129/II Babeko. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was carried out using the Miles and Huberman model which includes data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The results of the study showed that (1) the forms of student learning difficulties include difficulty memorizing basic multiplication facts, understanding multiplication concepts, performing simple calculations, solving compound multiplication, and being less careful in calculating. (2) The factors causing learning difficulties come from internal factors in the form of low conceptual understanding and mastery of basic multiplication facts, as well as external factors in the form of lack of practice, learning support at home and the use of limited learning media. (3) Teachers' efforts in overcoming these difficulties are carried out through the use of concrete media, providing repeated practice, remedial learning, individual guidance, and learning motivation. Thus, students' learning difficulties in the material of multiplication arithmetic operations require appropriate handling so that students' understanding of mathematical concepts can improve. The results of this study are expected to be a consideration for teachers in designing more effective learning strategies to improve the multiplication skills of elementary school students.

Abstract

The use of digital technology in learning does not always lead to improved student learning outcomes, making it important to identify the factors that contribute to learning achievement in technology-based learning. This study aims to analyze the role of digital literacy and learning motivation in students' learning outcomes in the Audio Video Processing Engineering (TPAV) subject. The study employed a quantitative approach using a causal associative research design. The entire population of 28 students majoring in Visual Communication Design was selected as the sample through saturated sampling. Data were collected using digital literacy and learning motivation questionnaires, as well as a learning achievement test, and were analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results showed that digital literacy had no significant effect on learning outcomes (sig. 0.128), while learning motivation had a positive and significant effect (sig. <0.001). Simultaneously, digital literacy and learning motivation had a significant effect on learning outcomes, with a contribution of 76.8%. Thus, learning motivation was found to be the more dominant factor in students' learning achievement, while digital literacy provides greater benefits when supported by strong learning motivation.   Keywords: Digital Literacy; Learning Motivation; Learning Outcomes; Vocational Education

Abstract

Science and social studies (IPAS) learning in class V of SD Negeri 95/II Muara Bungo was still dominated by verbal delivery of material and one-way interaction, resulting in low student engagement and instructional media that had not been optimally utilized. This condition contributed to low learning outcomes in the topic of environmental damage, with only a small proportion of students reaching the Learning Objective Achievement Criteria (KKTP). This study aimed to describe the improvement of the learning process and learning outcomes of fifth-grade students through the application of the Game Based Learning model assisted by puzzle media. The study used a Classroom Action Research (CAR) design following the Kemmis and McTaggart model, conducted in two cycles, each consisting of planning, action,   observation, and reflection. The subjects were 22 fifth-grade students. Data were collected through observation, tests, and documentation, then analyzed descriptively using percentages, mean scores, and  classical mastery levels. The results showed that the students’ learning process improved from the poor category in cycle I to entirely good and very good categories in cycle II. Learning outcomes also improved from cycle I to cycle II, with classical mastery exceeding the established success indicator. It can be concluded that the application of the Game Based Learning model assisted by puzzle media is effective in improving the learning process and outcomes of IPAS, and can therefore be adopted as an innovative learning strategy alternative for elementary school teachers. Abstract

This research aims to improve the learning process and outcomes of Mathematics of flat building materials in grade V students of SDN 60/II Muara Bungo through the application of the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) model. Preliminary observations show conventional teacher-centered learning with low levels of student engagement and learning outcomes; Only 18.18% of students achieved completeness. This class action research is carried out in two cycles, where each cycle consists of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection.  The results showed a significant increase in educators' activities from the "Good" to "Very Good" category (75% to 100%), as well as an increase in student learning activities from 59% to 81%. This improvement in the learning process is positively correlated with learning outcomes; The percentage of student learning completeness increased from 72.73% in Cycle I to 77.27% in Cycle II, exceeding the success indicator of 75%. These findings confirm that RME is effective in encouraging active, meaningful, and student-centered Mathematics learning, as well as relevant to the implementation of the Independent Curriculum.   Keywords: Mathematics Learning; Flat Build Tour; Classroom Action Research; Realistic Approach

Abstract

The Industrial Revolution 4.0 era demands the development of students' critical thinking skills and emotional intelligence, especially in informatics learning. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of Project-Based Learning (PjBL) integrated with Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) in developing these two competencies simultaneously in grade X students of SMA Negeri 2 Bungo. Using a true experimental design, the study involved 68 students who were divided into experimental and control groups. Data was collected through a validated and reliable questionnaire, then analyzed using the Independent Sample t-Test and MANOVA tests. The results of the analysis showed that STEAM-based PjBL had a partial significant effect on the improvement of students' critical thinking skills (p=0.036) and emotional intelligence (p=0.017). Furthermore, the MANOVA test confirmed that STEAM-based PjBL simultaneously had a significant influence on both competencies (F=4.324; p=0.008). These findings indicate that the integration of PjBL and STEAM is an effective learning strategy in developing the cognitive and social-emotional competencies that are crucial for students in facing the challenges of the 21st century.   Keywords: Project-Based Learning; STEAM; Critical Thinking; Emotional Intelligence; Informatics Learning.

Abstract

Instruction in Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) often faces challenges regarding low levels of student engagement and unsatisfactory learning outcomes, necessitating a shift toward a more learner-centered instructional approach. This study aimed to improve the IPAS learning process and outcomes for fifth-grade students at SDN 127/II Sungai Arang by implementing a guided inquiry learning model, involving 16 students as participants. The study employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) approach conducted over two cycles, with each cycle comprising the stages of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The results demonstrated significant improvement across both cycles. Teacher instructional performance rose from an average of 70% in Cycle I to 90% in Cycle II. Similarly, student engagement in the learning process increased from an average of 74% in Cycle I to 90% in Cycle II. Furthermore, the percentage of students achieving mastery in learning outcomes rose from 63% in Cycle I to 88% in Cycle II. The implementation of the guided inquiry learning model proved effective in enhancing both the learning process and outcomes for fifth-grade students in the IPAS subject at SDN 127/II Sungai Arang.   Keywords: Guided Inquiry; Learning Process; Learning Outcomes.

Abstract

The rapid growth of information and communication technology in recent years has significantly changed the daily routines and socio-economic activities of modern society. This quantitative study was conducted to analyze and directly test how the use of information technology influences work productivity efficiency as well as the overall quality of life. Employing an explanatory causal research design, primary data were gathered through structured questionnaires measured on a 5-point Likert scale distributed to 250 respondents. The sample was drawn using a simple random sampling technique across urban and surrounding suburban areas. Prior to hypothesis testing, the research instruments were confirmed to meet valid criteria through item validity testing and Cronbach's Alpha reliability evaluation. A series of classical assumption tests including normality, multicollinearity, and homoscedasticity were also fulfilled to ensure the validity of the multiple linear regression model.  Inferential data analysis revealed that information technology usage has a positive and significant impact, both simultaneously and partially, on boosting work productivity F=84.12;p<0.001 and improving quality of life F=62.45;p<0.001. Fast access to data and workflow automation emerged as key factors in accelerating daily routines. These findings emphasize that digital devices serve not merely as entertainment or interpersonal communication tools, but as vital supports for work efficiency and personal well-being. Therefore, expanding internet infrastructure and digital literacy programs is necessary to ensure these technological benefits are evenly distributed across all segments of society.   Keywords: Information Technology; Work Productivity; Quality of Life.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the students' low reading comprehension skills; only 7 students (35%) understood the content of the reading material, while the remaining 13 students (65%) did not yet fully grasp it. The objective of this study was to improve reading comprehension skills using the Guided Reading method. A two-cycle Classroom Action Research (CAR) design was employed. The study sample consisted of 20 students. Data were collected through observation, tests, and documentation. The results showed an improvement in teacher performance from 76% in Cycle I to 96% in Cycle II, and an increase in learning mastery from 65% in Cycle I to 85% in Cycle II; specifically, student mastery in reading comprehension rose from 65% in Cycle I to 85% in Cycle II. Guided Reading is a method of guided reading instruction proven capable of enhancing the reading comprehension skills of fourth-grade students at SDN 37/II Pasar Lubuk Landai. This study contributes to the implementation of a reading instruction method that actively engages students through reading activities, teacher guidance, question-and-answer sessions, and discussions to help them better understand reading content. It can be concluded that the implementation of the Guided Reading method is effective in improving the reading comprehension skills of fourth-grade elementary school students.   Keywords: Reading Comprehension; Guided Reading; Classroom Action Research
