Abstract

Germany is one of the favorite destinations for immigrants and asylum seekers seeking help because of the open door policy that began to be implemented in August 2015. This policy opens German borders for asylum seekers fleeing the wars that occurred in the Middle East such as Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan. Waves of asylum seekers are increasingly flooding Germany. This policy then began to have an impact, one of which began to increase the number of crimes committed by asylum seekers in Germany. The German government then issued a new policy to handle the impact that arose from previous policies by launching the StarthilfePlus aid program. This study finds that policies implemented to cope with the impact of open door policies that have previously been implemented are not yet effective. The ineffectiveness of this policy is due to the two objectives that not yet achieved yet. First, there are no increased in migrants voluntarily returning to their home country. Secondly, the increasing number of failed asylum seekers residing in Germany compared with before the policy was implemented.

Abstract

Slow loris or Nycticebus sp is one of endemic primate animals in Indonesia. Since 2007, slow loris has been categorized into Appendix I CITES (Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora). It means that slow loris is threatened to extinction, so this species cannot be used as a commodity on commercial trade. In fact, the number of slow loris in Indonesia, specifically on Sumatra island still continue decreased from 2007-2014. Even though, Indonesia has ratified CITES which is explained on UU No. 5 Tahun 1990 relates to Conservation of Natural Resources and Ecosystems. Through this regulation, Indonesia spreads and delegates an authority to implement CITES on Ministry of Environment and Forestry as management authority and Research Center for Biology-LIPI as scientific authority. This paper aims to analyze to what extent the compliance of Indonesia on CITES regime and determine main factors that cause trade of slow loris in Indonesia. To achieve these objectives, it is used a qualitative method through literature reviews and policy documents, then, it compared with compliance theory and public policy implementation. The findings of this paper shows that Indonesia has respect and compliant to CITES. Indonesia compliant CITES to achieve the national interest, especially in the protection of slow loris. However, slow loris trading still occurs due to several factors, such as lack of bureaucratic structure, lack of communication, less of resources quality and quantity, and disposition. In addition, a partnership and bilateral agreement among Indonesia and other country to minimize slow loris trading is still unsuccessful.

Taiwan holds a significance position for Indonesian economy, one of which can be seenfrom the large number of Indonesian Migrant Workers who work in the country. On theother hand, due to the One China Policy, Indonesia does not have diplomatic relations withTaiwan because Indonesia prefers to recognize the sovereignty of the People's Republic ofChina. Related to these facts, this research aims to determine and analyze the implicationsof the One China Policy toward the protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers in Taiwanbetween 2010 until 2014. Abstract

Food crime in the form of food product fraud especially in fraudulent olive oil commodities frequently occurred in the period 2014 to 2017 in Italy. The estimated profit gained by organized crime groups reaches millions of euros. Italian agriculture has finally become the focus of  mafia's Ndrangheta involvement in the food chain. This research is aimed to find out why the Ndrangheta group committed food crime in Italy and to analyzed the Ndrangheta group as transnational organized crime group. The Ndrangheta group in the Italian food crime scheme is puzzling as to why human-food relations bring up the Ndrangheta group to commit food crimes in Italy. In response to this phenomenon, this thesis used the concept of transnational organized crime groups and non-traditional security concepts, with qualitative methods. The results showing that the presence and characteristics of the Ndrangheta group, the socio-economic conditions of the Calabria region and the facilitative system encouraged food crime take place in Italy. Also extreme power of Ndrangheta made them worse to be controlled. Therefore multilateral cooperation is needed in the form of institutions or regimes that can press for the urgency of food crime, pursue strategies in deterring and detecting the existence of organized crime groups.

Abstract

Climate change and global warming are environmental phenomena with large negative impacts for various countries in the international world. This presents the Paris Agreement as a commitment for ratifying countries to address global warming by reducing carbon gas emissions based on the NDC (National Determined Contribution). One of the countries that ratified the Paris Agreement is China. This is motivated by the large number of industrial sectors in China that use coal as the main energy source in driving their industry, so this has also caused China to become one of the countries with the largest carbon emission emitters in the world and has an impact on the domestik environment such as bad air pollution. and natural disasters. This study will discuss China's efforts as a country that ratified the Paris Agreement in reducing carbon gas emissions and demonstrate its commitment by implementing environmentally friendly strategies and implementations in the 13th Five Year Plan policy. Furthermore, this study will also analyze China's commitment to using Hugh Dyer's green theory and the three concepts from Tayyar's green theory. This research uses a qualitative descriptive approach with sources obtained from literature studies. The findings in this study are that China has demonstrated its commitment to addressing climate change by reducing carbon gas emissions in line with the goals of the Paris Agreement, namely by pursuing various strategies contained in the 13th Five Year Plan policy for reducing carbon gas emissions in the domestik sphere. This can be seen from the existence of values and goals in pro-environmental policies by implementing the "Environmental Protection" policy.
