Abstract

Learning difficulties remain a persistent and multifaceted challenge among junior high school students, significantly impacting academic achievement, motivation, and classroom engagement. This study explores the strategic implementation of guidance and counseling (GC) services in addressing these issues at SMP Negeri 178 Jakarta. Utilizing a qualitative case study design, data were gathered through observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis. Findings indicate that GC services are systematically delivered through individual and group counseling sessions, classroom-based interventions, and motivational enhancement programs. The primary learning issues identified include diminished motivation, academic anxiety, inadequate study skills, and socio-emotional challenges that hinder student performance. Effective GC service delivery is supported by strong collaboration among counselors, subject teachers, homeroom teachers, and parents, alongside institutional support from school leadership. Conversely, barriers such as limited counselor availability, low student engagement, and a lack of awareness regarding the function of GC services impede optimal outcomes. The study concludes that the effectiveness of GC interventions is contingent upon contextually responsive, personalized, and collaborative approaches. These findings underscore the need to strengthen policy, enhance counselor professional development, and integrate GC programs into the school’s educational management system. Keywords: Guidance and Counseling; Learning Challenges; Individual Counseling; School Collaboration; Secondary Education

Abstract

This review is motivated by the complex problems of development and the urgency of effective communication interventions to encourage behavioral change in society. Although edutainment has proven to be a promising communication strategy, there are theoretical, empirical, and practical gaps in its application in Indonesia, often without critical testing of the theory's assumptions and boundary conditions. This paper aims to map the assumptions, key concepts, and propositions of Albert Bandura's Social Cognitive Theory; identify its historical-paradigmatic roots; critically analyze the coherence, hidden assumptions, biases, and boundary conditions of the theory; synthesize empirical evidence from at least three Scopus-indexed articles applying SCT to relevant issues; compare SCT with the Diffusion of Innovations Theory; and test its relevance in real cases in Indonesia. The method used is a narrative-systematic literature review with specific inclusion criteria for Scopus articles. Key findings indicate that SCT excels in explaining individual psychological mechanisms in behavioral change through modeling and self-efficacy, which are highly relevant for edutainment design. However, SCT has limitations in explaining structural barriers or deeply ingrained social norms. The integration of SCT with the Diffusion of Innovations Theory is proposed for a more comprehensive framework. Keywords: Social Cognitive Theory, Albert Bandura, Edutainment, Development Communication, Behavior Change, Self-Efficacy

Abstract

This study investigates the influence of transformational leadership and competence on lecturer performance, using job satisfaction as a mediating variable at Muhammadiyah universities in Jakarta. Prompted by the need to improve institutional rankings, this research employed a quantitative path analysis design with PLS-SEM on a sample of 250 permanent lecturers. The findings reveal that while competence directly and significantly enhances both job satisfaction and performance, transformational leadership's impact on performance is entirely indirect. Leadership significantly boosts job satisfaction, which in turn is a strong predictor of lecturer performance, acting as a full mediator. This study concludes that enhancing lecturer performance requires a dual strategy: directly developing lecturer competence while leveraging transformational leadership to cultivate a satisfying work environment, which is the essential pathway for leadership to translate into tangible performance outcomes. Keywords: Competence, Job Satisfaction, Leadership

Abstract

This study examines the effects of Risk-Based Capital (RBC), premium growth, and asset growth on the financial performance of insurance companies, with Good Corporate Governance (GCG) as a moderating variable. Financial performance is proxied by Return on Assets (ROA). The study employs panel data from insurance companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange during the 2020–2024 period and applies Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA) using EViews 12. The empirical results indicate that RBC has a significant negative effect on ROA, suggesting that excessive capital reserves may lead to inefficiencies in capital utilization. Premium growth is also found to have a significant negative impact on financial performance, implying that higher premiums are not necessarily accompanied by improved profitability due to increased claims and operational costs. Asset growth shows no significant effect on ROA, indicating that asset expansion alone does not guarantee better financial performance. Furthermore, GCG positively moderates the relationship between RBC and financial performance, mitigating the negative impact of high RBC levels. However, GCG does not significantly moderate the effects of premium growth and asset growth on ROA. These findings highlight the importance of effective corporate governance in optimizing capital management and improving financial performance in insurance companies. Keywords: Risk-Based Capital; Premium Growth; Asset Growth; Good Corporate Governance; Financial Performance

Abstract

Professionalism in the civil service is essential to ensure justice, accountability, and ethical governance within Indonesia’s administrative system. This study examines how professionalism serves as a bridge between law and ethics in the implementation of administrative law. The main objective is to explore civil servants’ perceptions, practices, and institutional challenges in applying administrative law through professional conduct. Using a qualitative descriptive approach with a case study method, data were collected through in-depth interviews, document analysis, and direct observation in selected government institutions. The findings reveal four key themes: the perception of professionalism as moral and legal responsibility, institutional barriers such as bureaucratic hierarchy and weak supervision, ethical and legal integration, and improved governance outcomes marked by higher accountability and reduced maladministration. The results demonstrate that professionalism mediates ethical behavior and legal compliance, reinforcing transparency and justice in public administration. This study contributes to refining Good Governance Theory and provides practical insights for developing professional, ethical, and accountable bureaucratic systems in Indonesia. Keywords: administrative law, ethics, governance, professionalism, public administration

Abstract

Cash waqf (waqf al-nuqud) has emerged as a dynamic instrument within the broader framework of Islamic social finance, offering a flexible, inclusive, and potentially high-impact mechanism for sustainable development in Muslim-majority societies. Despite its significant potential—particularly in countries like Indonesia, where the annual estimated cash waqf capacity exceeds IDR 180 trillion—its realization remains suboptimal due to limitations in governance, institutional professionalism, and public trust. This study aims to develop a conceptual model for optimizing cash waqf management in Indonesia by integrating Islamic jurisprudential principles, behavioral economics, and production theory. Utilizing a qualitative, literature-based approach, the research synthesizes theoretical insights with practical models such as Interpretive Structural Modeling (ISM), SWOT analysis, and case studies from Indonesia (Waqf Amerta) and Malaysia (ICWME-I). A simplified production function model—WT=f(P,N)WT = f(P, N)—is proposed, where cash waqf output (WT) is determined by waqf potential (P) and the professionalism of nazhir institutions (N). Findings highlight that strategic optimization of cash waqf requires a multi-level approach involving regulatory reforms, human capital development, institutional transparency, and systematic public engagement. The study advocates for the establishment of professional nazhir institutions modeled after financial industry standards, with active state support in education, certification, and governance. By bridging theoretical and practical dimensions, this paper contributes to the growing literature on Islamic philanthropic finance and offers a strategic framework for enhancing the role of cash waqf as a vehicle for inclusive socio-economic transformation. Keywords: Cash Waqf; Islamic Social Finance; Nazhir Professionalism; Production Theory; Waqf Optimization; Strategic Modeling; Good Waqf Governance

Abstract

Restructuring of a Legal Entity, in this case a Limited Liability Company, is known in four forms, namely merger, acquisition, takeover and spin-off. The restructuring has implications for various aspects, including capital structure and share ownership, composition of management and supervisors, articles of association, and taxation. In this article, we will discuss Consolidation of the Company, and specifically regarding the implications for the taxation of Limited Liability Companies, likewise with the role of a public accountant regarding the requirements of the Business Purpose Test. The research method used in writing this article is a normative juridical research method, namely by conducting a literature study. The results of the study showed that the Government has set a policy regarding the requirements of the Business Purposes Test in order to companies consolidation and there is a public accountant role that is needed to support all the requirements of the Business Purposes Test.  In addition, the results of this study also provide advice and solutions for the government, notaries and of course a company that will consolidate. Keywords: Taxation, Business Konsolidasis, Limited Liability Companies

Abstract

The 21st century is characterized by deep uncertainty, high volatility, rampant complexity, and unavoidable ambiguity, commonly known as the VUCA era. In this dynamic landscape, organizations, particularly State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN), face intense pressure to adapt, innovate, and strategically respond to survive and thrive. Organizational design, extending beyond mere hierarchical charting, is a critical strategic process that profoundly impacts operational efficiency, work culture, employee motivation, and long-term objectives. This study adopts a qualitative phenomenological approach, based on an intensive literature review, to explore the lived experiences of BUMN leaders in navigating these complex external (e.g., market dynamics, technological disruption, government regulations) and internal (e.g., organizational strategy, culture, resources) factors to inform their organizational design choices. The research aims to understand how leaders interpret and mediate these pressures, contributing to organizational theory and offering practical insights for BUMNs in fostering resilient, adaptive, and human-centric organizations. Keywords: BUMN, External Factors, Internal Factors, Organizational Design, Strategic Leadership

Abstract

Advances in digital technology have driven significant changes in economic activity, particularly in the buying and selling practices through e-commerce platforms. Tokopedia, as one of the largest platforms in Indonesia, acts as an intermediary between sellers and buyers without being directly bound by a sales contract. In practice, business actors often include disclaimer clauses unilaterally in electronic agreements to limit or transfer legal responsibility. Such clauses may conflict with basic contractual principles, particularly the principle of freedom of contract, which must be applied in conjunction with the principle of good faith as stipulated in Article 1338 of the Civil Code. This study aims to examine the relationship between the fulfillment of the good-faith element in contracts and the validity of disclaimer clauses, and to provide recommendations for reformulating clauses to align with the principles of justice and consumer legal protection. The method used is normative juridical research, employing a statutory and doctrinal approach by reviewing legal principles, contract theory, and relevant regulations. The research results show that Tokopedia's disclaimer clauses tend to contain unilateral transfers of responsibility without any mechanism for agreement or negotiation, potentially violating the principle of contractual fairness. Therefore, electronic agreement clauses need to be reformulated better to reflect the balance of the parties' positions, uphold the principle of good faith, and provide adequate legal protection for service users. Keywords: Disclaimer Clause, Agreement, e-commerce, Tokopedia, Civil Code
