Abstract

The bridge is an infrastructure whose existence is an important part of the transportation system and economic movement of a region. If the bridge is damaged or collapses, it will affect the transportation and development of the distribution of people and goods. Thus, maintenance of the bridge is a must. The Bridge Management System (BMS) method is a standard mechanism for evaluating the condition and function of bridges. The BMS can also be used to decide on the maintenance needed to maintain a bridge under certain circumstances. The assessment was carried out in the form of a visual assessment of the bridge to evaluate the general condition of the bridge. This research was conducted at three bridges in Majalengka Regency, namely the Citeureup Bridge, the Cideres Bridge, and the Talang Bridge. Evaluation is carried out by conducting inventory surveys and detailed inspections of objects (bridge damage elements). Then each element is given a point weight of 1 and 0 according to its damage level from the lowest (level 5) to the highest (level 1), which means the bridge completely collapsed. Elements or groups of elements are given a weight from 0 to 5 where 5 represents the total score of 5 categories. The categories are Structure (S), Damage Level (R), Damage Volume (K), Element Function (F), and Damage Effect (P). Condition studies, technical screening, and evaluation of handling for the Citeureup Bridge, Cideres Bridge, and Talang Bridge each resulted in the following conditions: 3 (Heavy Damage – Rehabilitation), 2 (Slightly Damaged – Routine Maintenance), and 2 (Slightly Damaged – Maintenance) Routine).

Abstract

Drainage is of course one of the most necessary aspects of the road component, and we should pay more attention to this aspect, and we also need to know that one of the causes of damage to a road is due to damage or non-functioning drainage. So the purpose of this case study is to identify road drainage problems that are on the Kadipaten road to Jatiwangi along 2,951 m from the front of PT Gistex Indonesia to the Cisambeng 2 bridge, which in the sector of the route is the industrial sector, lots of factory building growth right on the side national roads in the district. Majalengka, knowing how crowded and congested the national roads are. From the results of the observation of this case study, it can be concluded that there are still many inactive or disconnected canals, sediment, garbage, and large stones that have accumulated and clogged the drainage. then there is an STA Drainage point right in front of PT. LYG, you can say the worst condition is where the DPT drainage wall has collapsed. A good design needs to be done knowing that the drainage construction has not been done in 1 year.

Abstract

Roads are a transportation infrastructure for the daily needs of human life in the world, roads are also one of the most important parts that help human activities, roads are composed of several hard materials which are doused with asphalt (liquid) solution so that the roads we use feel comfortable when driving. Damage to the road that occurs causes huge losses for its users, so road damage is also the main trigger for traffic jams on the road, resulting in a decrease in the functional and structural quality of the road. The research location is located on Jalan Kesehatan, Majalengka, the main access to the entrance to the Majalengka Hospital, is damaged so that traffic jams often occur at the location, which is the main trigger for road damage in the field. This research was carried out by surveying directly to the field and using the SDI (Surface Distress Index) method to help collect data in the field, and inventory in GIS (Geographic Information System). The researcher also concluded that in the research location, there were roads that were damaged, and maintenance had to be carried out immediately regularly, bearing in mind that this road is the main access for people who want to go to the Majalengka Hospital, the researcher also suggested that the road be widened, to minimize congestion and expedite the speed of transportation in research sites.
