Abstract

The use of information technology in education continues to evolve, including in the analysis of vocational school department selection. This study aims to apply Business Intelligence (BI) to analyze admission opportunities in the most popular departments at SMK Negeri 1 Tanjung Pura. The data used is secondary data from SMK applicants between 2020 and 2024, processed using Tableau software for data visualization. The results indicate that the Motorcycle Engineering and Business department is the most favored choice, while the Accounting department has the fewest applicants. BI implementation enables more accurate and informative data presentation, aiding schools in student admission strategies and providing clearer information for prospective students in choosing a department.

Abstract

Soybean hulls are agro-industrial waste from soybean processing, especially in the tofu and tempeh industries. This waste is often ignored and has not been optimally utilized, even though it has potential as a feed ingredient for poultry. This article aims to assess the nutritional potential of soybean hulls and its feasibility as an alternative ingredient in poultry feed. Based on the results of a literature study, soybean hulls contain crude fiber, protein, and a number of minerals that are important for poultry growth, although the crude fiber content is quite high which can limit digestibility. Several processing techniques such as fermentation and chemical treatment can increase its nutritional value. With proper processing, soybean hulls have great potential to be an economical and environmentally friendly alternative feed ingredient.

Abstract

This article examines the crucial role of Human-Centered Design (HCD) in logo development, particularly for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Pematang Serai Village. The study highlights the importance of building a strong brand image and explores how HCD principles influence the entire design process—from conceptualization to implementation. The iterative and user-centered nature of HCD ensures continuous refinement of the logo based on real user feedback. This article also discusses visual elements in logo design and their impact on audience perception, recognizing the logo as a significant visual cue in shaping consumer behavior. Furthermore, cultural considerations are emphasized through cross-cultural analysis, underlining the need to adapt logo designs to local contexts—especially relevant for MSMEs in Pematang Serai Village. The findings lead to actionable recommendations for MSMEs, including a user-centered design approach, emphasis on visual appeal, cultural sensitivity, iterative refinement, and strategic logo implementation. This study underscores that applying HCD principles can result in logo designs that are not only visually appealing but also emotionally resonant with the target audience, thereby contributing to sustainable business success.

Abstract

Mobile Phone is an electronic device used to communicate, transact digitally and as a medium for exchanging data and information. Mobile Phone is one of the secondary needs that must be owned by the community. In its development, there are various types of mobile phone brands that are sold and the prices offered also vary. The community can buy mobile phones according to their needs and financial capabilities. To see the mobile phone brands that are most in demand by the community, data mining is used using the apriori algorithm to analyze the sales of the most sold mobile phones. So that with the use of the apriori algorithm, it avoids the accumulation of unsold mobile phones.

Abstract

PT. PLN (Persero) is a company with an extensive distribution network system, which continues to expand in terms of the number of distribution networks. This company is known for its excellent efforts in improving the quality of service to its customers, particularly in meeting the electricity needs of customers in the West Nusa Tenggara region. With the existing distribution system network, reliability analysis can be determined by assessing the system's quality in relation to disruptions that occur. To improve the quality of electricity distribution, the performance of the distribution network system is a key aspect that will always be maintained to ensure electricity is delivered to customers. In enhancing the quality of the distribution system, the calculation of reliability indices, based on the average interruption frequency (SAIFI) and the average interruption duration (SAIDI), serves as a reference for the reliability of the distribution network.

Abstract

The coconut palm (Cocos nucifera) is an economically and culturally significant crop widely cultivated in tropical regions, particularly in Indonesia. However, coconut productivity remains suboptimal due to aging plantations and poor soil conditions. To address this, biofertilizers such as Bacillus nigr have been proposed as sustainable alternatives to chemical fertilizers. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of Bacillus nigr-based liquid organic fertilizer (POC) on the early growth parameters of coconut plants aged 9 to 12 months. Conducted in Deli Serdang, North Sumatra, the experiment involved 38 coconut seedlings divided equally into treatment (POC) and control groups. Data on stem height were collected and analyzed using a T-test. The results demonstrated a statistically significant difference (p < 0.05) in stem height between the POC-treated and untreated plants, with notable growth advantages observed in the control group at 11 and 12 months. However, POC treatment showed promising effects at earlier growth stages (9–10 months). These findings suggest that Bacillus nigr-based POC may influence early vegetative growth, but long-term benefits and dosage optimization require further investigation. This study contributes to the growing body of knowledge on the role of microbial biofertilizers in sustainable coconut cultivation and offers insights for enhancing early-stage coconut growth using environmentally friendly agricultural practices.

Abstract

The increasing number of recipients of the Indonesia Smart Program (Program Indonesia Pintar - PIP) demands a more effective and efficient data management system. At PSP Center, conventional methods such as spreadsheets are still primarily used for recording and reporting, which may cause delays in information, input errors, and a lack of in-depth data visualization. This study aims to design and develop a Business Intelligence (BI) dashboard capable of integrating PIP recipient data from various sources and presenting it in an interactive and informative visual format. By applying the Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) process, this system is expected to improve analysis efficiency, support data-driven decision making, and strengthen transparency and accountability in the implementation of the PIP program at PSP Center.

Abstract

The need for electrical energy that continues to increase in line with economic growth and community welfare demands optimal electricity distribution system reliability. Disruptions to the distribution network are often the main cause of power outages, which impact the quality of service to customers. PT. PLN (Persero) ULP Sinabang seeks to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the distribution system to minimize blackouts and improve service quality. The evaluation of network reliability was carried out by analyzing the System Average Interruption Duration Index (SAIDI) and System Average Interruption Frequency Index (SAIFI) as the main parameters in measuring the performance of electricity distribution. The higher the value of these two indices, the worse the performance of the distribution system in maintaining the continuity of electricity supply. Through the analysis of the SAIDI and SAIFI values in 2023, this study aims to provide recommendations to reduce the rate of blackouts and improve the reliability of the power grid in the PT. PLN (Persero) ULP Sinabang.

Abstract

Load balancing on distribution transformers is an important step to improve the efficiency of electricity distribution and reduce power losses. Load imbalance between phases can cause an increase in neutral current, contributing to conductor power loss and financial loss. This research was conducted on the BR 114 distribution transformer at PT PLN (Persero) ULP Lembayung, with the aim of analyzing the impact of load balancing on neutral current, conductor power loss, and financial loss. The calculation results show that load balancing can reduce the neutral current from 150 A to 97 A, thereby decreasing the neutral conductor power loss from 2.00797 kW to 0.37129 kW. Financially, the savings obtained from load balancing amount to Rp 80,460,399. Thus, load balancing has proven to be an effective solution in reducing power losses and improving the efficiency of electricity distribution.
