Abstract

This study discusses the overcoming overload problem in the distribution transformer that occurred at the SM01 Tie Line Sinabang ULP Sinabang Feeder. Transformer overload can lead to decreased electrical system performance, equipment damage, and potential power outages. The method used in this study is uprating, which is increasing the capacity of the transformer to meet the increasing load needs. The study begins with the analysis of historical load data and the identification of the factors that cause overload. Furthermore, simulations were carried out to evaluate the performance of the transformer under different load conditions. The uprating method is applied by taking into account the applicable technical specifications and operational standards. The simulation results show that increasing the capacity of the transformer can reduce the frequency of overload events and improve the reliability of the power supply. From the results of the study, it was concluded that the uprating method was effective in handling the problem of overload of distribution transformers at SM01 Feeder. Recommendations for the implementation of uprating and periodic monitoring of transformer conditions are also prepared to ensure operational continuity and safety of the electricity distribution system.

Abstract

Operational efficiency is a top priority for organizations, with effective vehicle management being a crucial component. This research analyzes and designs a web-based Vehicle Management Information System aimed at optimizing vehicle utilization, reducing operational costs, and enhancing accountability. Addressing the problem of error-prone manual fiscal depreciation calculations, this system is designed to automate the process, ensuring greater accuracy and traceability. System analysis is conducted through visual modeling using the Unified Modeling Language (UML). The Activity Diagram maps the workflow of various user roles (Administrator, Operational Staff, Manager) in managing vehicle data, inputting usage and costs, and scheduling services. The Sequence Diagram further details the message interactions between system components (users, system, database) for each core functionality. Meanwhile, the Class Diagram presents the static structure of the system, defining key entities such as User, Vehicle, OperationalCost, Usage, Depreciation, and ServiceSchedule, along with their attributes and relationships. This system is designed for implementation using web-based frameworks like Laravel or CodeIgniter, adhering to the Model-View-Controller (MVC) architecture. This approach is chosen to ensure modularity, ease of maintenance, and enhanced system security. Consequently, the proposed system is expected to provide accurate and timely information, significantly supporting operational efficiency in the management of organizational vehicle assets.

Abstract

Palm sugar flour machine is a machine used to make flour from palm sugar. Palm sugar flour can be used as a processed food product. Compared to manually grinding palm sugar by hand which requires a lot of energy and time, the palm sugar flour machine can be a solution to facilitate the work in the palm sugar processing industry, both on a small and medium scale and a home industry. With this, the author analyzes the electric power of the induction motor on this palm sugar flour machine to determine the power generated from each experiment carried out and the capacity generated from the palm sugar flour machine. The palm sugar flour machine has dimensions of 600 mm x 300 mm x 800 mm with a 1 HP, 1 phase electric motor power, 220 V voltage and 50 Hz frequency. After conducting the analysis of the calculation of electrical power average of the single-phase induction motor on this palm sugar flour machine is 455.81 W and the thickness of floured palm sugar is 0.1 mm.

Abstract

This study investigates the floor-by-floor material consumption and cost efficiency of the superstructure in the Princeton Boutique Living Apartment, a mixed-use high-rise building located in Medan, Indonesia. The research employs a quantitative approach, utilizing construction shop drawings and adhering to national regulatory standards to estimate the volume and cost of concrete, reinforcement, and formwork across floors 1 to 15. AutoCAD was used for accurate dimension extraction, while Microsoft Excel facilitated calculations and budgeting. The findings reveal substantial variation in material requirements, particularly on lower floors that accommodate facilities such as gyms and pools, leading to increased structural demands. The total estimated cost for the upper structure is approximately IDR 25.97 billion. These results underscore the importance of detailed, floor-specific estimation in high-rise projects and highlight the need for integrative digital tools in construction cost management. The study contributes to improving budget accuracy and material planning in future developments with similar design complexity.

Abstract

This study aims to design an Internet of Things (IoT) based rest-time and medication reminder system in hospitals using Set-Top Box (STB). In the context of patient care, proper management of rest time and medication consumption reminders are essential to support the healing process and the patient's health. The system is designed to utilize the STB as a media display of information that patients can access in the inpatient room. The system consists of a reminder module integrated with a mobile application for medical personnel and families, which can set rest schedules and medication reminders according to the patient's needs. Reminders will be displayed visually and auditorially through the STB, ensuring patients don't miss this important time. The research was carried out by simulating conditions in hospitals involving a number of patients. The results of the evaluation showed that this system succeeded in increasing patient adherence in following the treatment schedule by up to 40% and provided positive feedback on the comfort of the treatment process. The design of an IoT-based reminder system using STBs can improve the efficiency of patient care in hospitals. Recommendations for further development include integration with hospital management systems for more comprehensive monitoring.

Abstract

Bananas are non-branched plants and are classified as monocots. The trunk that forms the tree is a pseudo-stem, consisting of leaf fronds that are arranged in an orderly manner, the branching of the plant is sympodial type (the trunk of the tree is difficult to determine) with an elongated end meristem and forms flowers and fruits. The fruit at the bottom of the banana stem is bulging in the form of a tuber called a hump. The potential of the banana chips business itself is also very good, so it's not surprising that now many are taking advantage of banana chips business opportunities. By taking advantage of business activities by offering banana chips, it is actually able to bring in a fairly high turnover. The public's demand for processed banana chips from time to time continues to increase, making the potential of this business very promising. The banana chips business is indeed very easy to run with a capital that is not too large. The banana chips business also has a lot of enthusiasts so it's not surprising that banana chips are selling well in the market. The problem is how the Financial Feasibility of the Banana Chips Business can increase family welfare income. The method of reviewing the case study is to analyze in depth the financial feasibility of the banana chips business in a specific location, namely Jln. Setia Budi Pasar 1, Medan Selayang District, Medan City. The location of Peanaman Pisang is in Kuala Langkat. This research is descriptive, that is, it describes what it is. Then a revenue analysis table is made where the goal is to analyze the income from the sale of banana chips. Results of the Analysis of the Farmer Business Study The business of selling banana chips in one week can get a total income of Rp. 8,610,000 with a net profit of Rp. 6,297,000 after deducting all production costs. Banana Chips Business can increase family income and is not too complicated to run.

Abstract

The need for electrical energy in the education sector continues to increase along with the development of technology and teaching and learning activities that require optimal lighting. This research aims to study and optimize electrical installations in school buildings through the application of energy-saving lights as an effort to improve electricity consumption. The methods used include analyzing the existing conditions of electrical installations, identifying the type and number of conventional lamps used, and calculating potential energy savings and costs after replacement with energy-saving lamps such as LEDs. The results show that the use of energy-efficient lamps can reduce electricity consumption by 40–60% compared to incandescent lamps or CFLs. In addition, resetting the installation layout as well as the use of automatic sensors can also improve user efficiency and comfort. Thus, optimizing electrical installations through the application of energy-efficient lights has proven to be effective in reducing electricity load and school operational costs, as well as supporting the creation of an energy-friendly educational environment
